Once upon a time there existed occult houses, a union of creatures that your average mortal could not understand and feared. These creatures lived in worry of slaughter and prejudice, banding together to erect these houses as a means to protect their people from the harshness of the daylight world. They were called Nocte Immortalem and their houses each embraced a certain 'nightkin'. Vampires, demons and voidsent, witches, the lich, and 'unnatural' mortals all had a home under the Immortalem banner. They were safe and strong together.

But nothing lasts forever and peace is only fleeting when your foundation is built out of fear. The houses begun to turn upon one another and bicker, mistrust growing and instability starting to shake the entire union. With outside forces still threatening their kind, the addition of in-fighting ultimately led to the crumbling of the houses and Nocte Immortalem itself. The nightkin once more scattered to the winds and into the shadows. The story of Nocte Immortalem gradually faded into forgotten history, only remembered by very few.

Though the magic of the world is ever growing, the prejudice of nightfolk has not improved. Still today they hide in the shadows or secretly attempt to blend in with regular society. It's this struggle that a small group of immortals have chosen to take upon their shoulders to improve. From its forgotten and abandoned status Nocte Immortalem has been ressurected and an effort has begun to rebuild in a more balanced way. But this time not with the purpose just to protect themselves and hide from society, but to become a part of it. The new Nocte Immortalem aspires to dispel the fears and misunderstandings of their kin and be able to step into the light. To not have to hide any longer but rather co-exist peacefully and openly with mortal society.
