Reece Thompson: York City sign Frickley Athletic striker

York City have signed striker Reece Thompson from seventh-tier side Frickley Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the League Two team after a successful trial.

Thompson scored 16 goals in 32 games for the Northern Premier League side last season.

He could make his competitive debut for the Minstermen in Saturday's season opener against Wycombe.
