Janna Hill is an author of fiction, short stories and poetry. Most of her career was spent as a licensed nurse before dabbling behind the literary scenes as a ghost writer.
In 2012 she decided to step out of the shadows and attach her own name to her efforts and hasn't regretted the choice for one moment. She doesn't shy away from her audience either saying, "Fans are just friends and family I haven't met... or wrote about yet."
Janna currently resides somewhere between the palm trees and pines of Texas.

SAVAGE ANESTHESIA - Short Stories (Carrion Blue 555) - now available.
"You know that homeless guy on the bus who sidles up to you and begins to mumble about aliens? SAVAGE ANESTHESIA is what you might get if he tied you up and made you listen to him long enough that he began to make sense. Obscene and surreal, these are mindscapes to get lost in."
—Brian Evenson, A Collapse of Horse
"A work of stark and strange realism about a wholly unreal place: our very own world, which has rarely been reported on with such piercing focus. An original, paranoid, intense book of stories."
—Ben Marcus, Leaving the Sea
“Leland Pitts-Gonzalez does not transport the reader to another headspace so much as he transforms the reader. After coming out of SAVAGE ANESTHESIA, looking at words, thoughts, or people in the same light is an impossibility. To say that this is addictively irreverent is an understatement.”
—John Edward Lawson, Bibliophobia

- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2024This is a solid collection of dark poetry. All of them are competent works, but a couple of them them stuck a nerve.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2014this compendium of freaknotes gave me such shivers i easily almost shat myself. on 3 separate occasions i had to go to the cabinet and re-load on cookies and rocking chair™ leche calentita. but thats why i love these poems so much; no matter your taste for gore, there's something here to quench your appetite.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2016A wonderful collection of modern dark poetry. I enjoyed both this volume and the second annual showcase. The third annual poetry showcase is due out later this summer.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2016If you're a fan of poetry like me. Dark, evil, chilling words of rhyme that give a more intimate peek into the darkest corners of an authors mind, then this collection is sure to please. Put together in a way that has you tossed around in a whirlwind of horror as you are pulled from one to the next. These poems will leave you reeling once you reach the end. A great collection, dark as Hell!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2014Got a little time to scary yourself silly? Or, if you're an old pro at horror, then maybe find a fresh take on terror? This poetry is so dark you'll need a flashlight to find your way back. Oh, my but the ghost and ghouls and spooky places do slither there way into this first ever HWA Poetry Showcase. Take a friend, light a fire then read, recite and take a bite out of poetry.
