Holy f*cking sh*t. We hunt Muslim clerics like animals for saying sh*t like that. That someone not only said that out loud on a national broadcast network, but repeated it, is absolute lunacy. I hope the Fibbies are watching him and his acquaintances like a hawk.

so this is the guy who was in charge of finding bin laden for decades? no wonder we never got him. sounds to me like an al Qeada spy talking like that. would be a neat angle for bin Laden to work.
lure the right wing here into his cause. be sympathetic to them. empathetic. feel their pain and struggle, relate to them.

they're not so different in mindset than his Muslim followers.
they're already open to talking to and receiving instructions from imaginary voices in their head. Just appeal to the oppressed victim part of their psyche.

"Man, someone really needs to take out that Dr. Tiller and all other abortion providers. I'm not saying someone should and I'm certainly not advocating murder, but someone really needs to. Anyone who claims I'm advocating homicide is taking my words out of context, though."

And how did Rupert Murdoch's Fox News air this piece of shiat and pass it along as journalism?

Glen Beck is not journalism, and the Francis that wrote this piece of outraged filled shiat needs to lighten the fark up.

I'm going to literally murder your family in their beds. With a chainsaw. Literally. On July 13th, 2011.

Hahahaha, great joke, AMIRITE? Lighten up, Francis!

/Note: I'm not murdering sepuku2's family. I don't even dislike them. The above was stated as an example to throw into contrast the absurdity of him ragging on the KosKid.

wow so you're ok with that statement?

had a liberal said that during Bush's term the right would have went crazy and would have demanded his head and the network's on a platter. What if Richard Clarke has said that to Olbermann in 05? That bin laden needed to hit us again big time to remove Bush from office. The right wing media's head would have asploded. The GOP would have acted in congress and passed some formal condemnation of msnbc. The FCC would have been up their butts. You can't openly advocate that kind of stuff and get away with it. Unless you're a batshiat crazy on Fox. Then it's just kinda expected I guess. And according to your response welcome.

Wow. I didn't believe it until I heard him say that.

2009-07-01 8:05:45 AM
At what point does this move from "Constitutionally protected speech" to "treason"?

I think the kids at Fox are moving closer to treason everyday. It's one thing to disagree with the President, its another to hope for a terrorist attack in order to make political change.

Isn't that the goal of terrorists to incite grass root political change via acts of terrorism? Tell me the difference between the goals of some Palestinian suicide bomber and Glenn Beck?

2009-07-01 8:09:09 AM

BladBoy: At what point does this move from "Constitutionally protected speech" to "treason"?

In my reckoning? Right about... there. According to the law? Only when you perform a specific act that undermines the United States while in the service of another state actor. Things like this (where it's a non-state actor like a terrorist org) or starting a war to enrich a corporation don't qualify.

IMHO, the definition needs updating.

I see this from Republicans all the time.

They consider a terrorist attack and the murder of thousands of American citizens a GREAT thing, if it stops people from voting liberal.

They are serious.

This, a thousand times this!

Beck agreed with a terrorist and is promoting terrorism against the United States of America. I agree with the Neocons, he should be waterboarded and shipped off to Gitmo and left to die there.

I don't know why, but I'm fairly surprised someone said terrorism against the US could be a good thing on a major news network and the right isn't calling for their head. This is how terrorist organizations start.

PNAC2: Electric Boogaloo.
Just remember: if Obama gets caught with his pants down and, upon hearing the news of an attack, sits on his ass like a dumbfcnk for several minutes, this has already been defined as the PINNACLE of HEROISM and LEADERSHIP.

Ryan2065: I don't know why, but I'm fairly surprised someone said terrorism against the US could be a good thing on a major news network and the right isn't calling for their head. This is how terrorist organizations start.

Because it was someone on the Right who said it..and they're not going to turn on one of their own. The Right will justify it by the USA now being "threatened" by the Obama Administration.

However, if someone from the Left said this a year ago..let alone 7-8 years ago, the Right would have been on 'em like white on rice.

Considering it was Bush who put us in the economic depression and gave huge tax cuts to his rich buddies - your "turnabout" make absolutely no sense. Just like your defense of Beck and his terrorist buddy.

You know, even if someone did say that it still is not the same as what just happened here. Not even close. There is a huge difference between someone saying the Economic Depression that we are in is good because it will make people vote Democrat and someone saying it would be good if a terrorist killed thousands of Americans so they would vote Republican. Both of these people are idiots but the second one is a dangerous idiot.

Do you really not see the difference or are you just trolling at this point?

You guys are missing the really cool setup that Beck did here. At the end, he said that Osama Bin Laden wouldn't attack again in the US, because that would ultimately help those that would protect her.

So now, if the US gets attacked, it's Obama's fault. And if the US doesn't get attacked? It means that Obama is in league with the terrorists.

Fantastic piece of reasoning, that.

kronicfeld: Ryan2065: Do you really not see the difference or are you just trolling at this point?

At this point?

From a Q&A with the speaker of the California assembly, Karen Bass, in the Los Angeles Times:

Q: How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature's work?

A: The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: "You vote for revenue and your career is over." I don't know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it's about free speech, but it's extremely unfair.

I guess she said it: "I guess it's about free speech, but it's extremely unfair."

Get it? Free speech is not terrorism. Complain all you want . Call it what ever you want. Shout out to God in Heaven that you don't believe in about the horror of it. but it's still Free Speech.

unyon: You guys are missing the really cool setup that Beck did here. At the end, he said that Osama Bin Laden wouldn't attack again in the US, because that would ultimately help those that would protect her.

So the solution is to never elect the Republicans to office again, since then he wouldn't be "helping those that would protect her." Seems fair.

A great repost on how neo-Fascist discourse justifies itself:

2006-06-14 04:37:37 PM haineux

Coulter, like many of the current media-darling "not exactly conservatives" is an "Entitlementarian."

In other words, rich white people like Bush and Rush Limbaugh and her are entitled to do what they want, and people who think differently should be physically attacked or locked away in jail for getting in their way. Those other people, see, are interfering with the Entitlement of the people in charge.

Just how Bush, who was a cocaine addict and did his best not to serve the United States during times of war, gets to criticize John Kerry for having the nerve to claim he's an injured veteran, even though that's a fact. Apparently, Bush is Entitled, and Kerry is not.

How else do you explain how Rush Limbaugh, caught with 1,000 "dangerous" pills, gets 0 days of jail time after spending over a decade proposing drastic increases for the punishments of drug users?

It's because he's Entitled, see.

After all, how do you explain why Ann Coulter calls for violence against the 9/11 widows. She calls them "millionaire harpies who are enjoying their fame." Ms Coulter is a millionaire harpy who enjoys her fame, so what's the big deal?

That's right. Coulter is Entitled, those widows are not.

The problem with Entitlement is that it's hard to tell just who is and isn't. After all, both Bush and Kerry are billionaire white men from the north east who went to Yale and were both members of the same secret society. Rush is a drug addict, and so is that babbling old black guy in the park. They both scream about non-existent secret cults, too. The black guy screams about the CIA putting a pain device in his mind. Rush screams about the "Liberal Media." Both Ann and the Widows are millionaire harpies.

When our Founding Fathers set up America, they wanted to make sure that each part of the government was accountable to another part, so as to make sure that America didn't turn into a police state, or a dictatorship. Bush, Rush, and Ann have all been working to overthrow this idea, and make it possible, for example, for a person to be dragged off to Guantanamo and TORTURED because one person in the government said that they are some kind of ENEMY.

That's precisely why I am so strongly upset by Bush, Rush, and Ann, and that's why I am afraid for America. For instance, I fear that someday soon some congressman can't get on an airplane because of a "perfectly innocent" administrative mistake that labels them a TERRORIST and therefore the US decides that gay people can't get married, or women can't have abortions, or that liberals have to wear an armband when they are out on the street.

OF COURSE, it would NEVER EVER come to that, would it?

After all, George Bush didn't REALLY lie to the US Government, the US people, the UN, and the people of the world about his insanely expensive war in Iraq, did he?

Of course not. He presented "the best available evidence" -- not "all the evidence" -- and the President should not be held to the same standards as you and I are when we go to court. We have to tell "the whole truth," but Bush was "protecting America" by omitting evidence, no?

And that's because George Bush is Entitled, and YOU ARE NOT.

[. . .]

.

I don't think anyone here is asking for him to be thrown in jail, but just the simple fact that people aren't getting outraged about this is troubling. You shouldn't be allowed to say something like that on a major news network without the public getting so mad the network has to fire them.

A few months after 9/11, Bill Maher was kicked off of Politically Incorrect for saying the terrorists who hijacked the jets and plunged them into the WTC weren't cowards, and in fact, we were the cowards for throwing missiles from 3000 miles away. The comment while ill advised, hardly called for them to try it again.

And don't forget, that was said on a show known and literally NAMED for the politically incorrect things the guests and Bill says. Regardless, the outcry by the "liberal media" was enough to get Bill Maher toasted in the court of public opinion and fired.

This is not only different, this goes way beyond the limits of nutcase land, surpassing Rushbo's rooting for the president to fail, and Michelle "I'm not taking the Census cause of the dirty lieberals" Bachman. Calling a pundit's opinion of asking for MAJOR attack on American Soil(and I dont' get the feeling he's talking about a few more airliners either) as entertainment is disingenuous at best. What's even more scary is this is the guy who's JOB was to hunt bin Laden during the Bush years.

You know the comment's out of line, no matter what context it comes up in. Disagreeing with your President's policies is one thing. Cheerleading a second 9/11 is...

well there's just no words really.

/I said good day sir!

2009-07-01 9:10:43 AM
In a sane world Beck's calling for a terrorist attack on the U.S. to effect political change would result in advertisers cancelling contracts with Fox News, a total stoppage of ticket sales for Beck's appearances, and literal truckloads of letters protesting the statement and even calling for Beck's firing.

At no point did I say the government should intervene in any way.

This... We have had nine murders since Obama was elected committed by lone wolf terrorists who were acting on Conservative fears. In response Beck and the rest of them have ratcheted up the rhetoric guaranteeing that there will be more.
