The 2014 Notable Books Banquet: A Smorgasbord of Recent Terrific Books for Children and Young Adults

This annual school librarian and public librarian partnership workshop is for Dutchess County School Librarians and Public Librarians to encourage communication and library services to Dutchess County children and teens. There will be an overview of the books from the American Library Association Notable Children's Books List. These are considered the cream of the crop from the titles that were published in 2013 for children and young adults from birth through age 14. TOPICS INCLUDE: School Librarian and Public Librarian Collaboration. American Library Association Notable Children's Books from 2013. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL KNOW AND BE ABLE TO: Become familiar with the evaluation criteria used to identify children's books that are worthy of note or notice, important, distinguished, or outstanding. Brainstorm collaborative opportunities for school librarians/classroom teachers and public librarians. Dinner is included. Fee for school librarians and public librarians in Dutchess County will be waived. There is a $20 fee for classroom teachers and others. Make checks payable to Dutchess BOCES SLS, with the notation Book Banquet. Mail to Dutchess BOCES SLS, CTI Building, 5 BOCES Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. We must receive your check in order for your registration to be enrolled on MLP. No payments or cash accepted at the door.
