About this event

Hosted by: Kim Wong, Office of the University Ombuds for Graduate Students

This virtual workshop will focus on the development of effective communication skills when encountering conflict during graduate school. Students will be encouraged to engage in self-reflection regarding their own approaches to conflict, which will include examining both their strengths and common barriers. We will explore ways to build trust and understanding in professional relationships, and discuss concrete strategies for improving dialogue with faculty, staff, and classmates. This is a useful session for any students interested in increasing their confidence in conflict resolution and maintaining productive academic relationships throughout their graduate journey.
