- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2013Most people wish for someone to love them for themselves, flaws and all. That is exactly what Lynn gets when she meets Trevor,a cowboy that women swoon over.Chelle captures the essence of a truly damaged soul and we have the pleasure of witnessing the ice melt around a wounded heart. It'so easy to become Jaded, but when faced with the possibility of true happiness could you dare take the chance? This is a book worth reading!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2021I enjoyed the book, really loved that Lynn was plus size. I identified with her destructive path and her fear of love and true intamcy. The story was good I was just left hungry for more...more depth and detail. I wanted to know more about Lynn and Trevor, more about their lives and more about their relationship together.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2021The protagonist's self-hatred was frustrating and made her hard to care about. Also, there were so many errors in the book that I had to stop reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2021This book was so sweet. Lynn and Trevor were such a sweet couple. Trevor is the ideal man for pretty much anyone!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2021This is a story about a woman, Lynn, meeting a cowboy, Trevor. Lynn doesn't think she is loveable because her ex-husband did her really wrong. Trevor fights to show her, she indeed is loveable.
It started off great but then it turned into one of those stories that u would read on one of those apps that u have to pay to keep reading. I love a good cowboy story and I liked this one til about halfway through.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2021This story had an abundance of potential: A strong, independent woman with a trash ex who left her trigger shy and self-sabotaging. A strong, soft-spoken cowboy who doesn't give up easily and is willing to do what it takes. Yet, this story was unable to deliver.
Let's start with the cover art. I don't normally bring up cover art in a review, but this one bothered me. This story revolves around a mid-30's curvy woman, and we have a definitively NOT curvy woman on the cover. While this would normally not be a big deal, the character, herself, continuously brings up her size as being an obstacle for anything beyond a one-night-stand. REPEATEDLY. To the point that her size and shape are made out to BE a huge part of her personality. This contradiction bothered me within the first few pages, causing me to flip back to check the cover and reread the character's description. (-1 star)
Next up, the word usage showed a distinct lack of attention to detail. Some examples of things that will never be caught by spell check, therefore require physical editing to catch: collage/college (one is a collection of pictures, the other is an institution of learning); jester/gesture; desert/dessert; quite/quiet; reveling/revealing; bar/barn. That last one was actually the most confusing incorrect word usage and made me do a double-take on the preceding several paragraphs, as I couldn't remember them leaving the ranch.
The grammar drove me crazy, with unnecessary commas mid-sentence, missing punctuation, missing tags, periods and question marks switched around... it was extremely aggravating trying to get from paragraph to paragraph.
Timing: I understand that there is a limit to just how much time can be encompassed in a 70-page story. I also am a firm believer in love at first sight. However, I struggle to get behind going from "jaded bitch" to "I love you" in approximately three weeks.
Lynn is mid-30's, although we don't know for sure, because at one point, it states she's soon to be 37, yet she tells him she is 35. She divorced after 2 years of marriage due to her husband having a string of affairs (busy guy). She's spent the last 10 years single, drinking, enjoying sexual freedom, and refusing anything more. She is also an emotional roller coaster.
Despite the attempt at building tension, we know next to nothing about Trevor. As readers, we know she likes his appearance, he owns a ranch with horses, he's 44, he knows how to cook, and he was raised with manners. His baggage, his past, is never addressed. We have no reason to understand why she develops feelings for him outside of physical attraction and kindness.
I was going to give this one just 1 star, but it's not fair to say I didn't like it. It falls into the 'it's okay' category, but it definitely was nowhere near refined for publication.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2013wonderful book with great characters. They were people you could relate to, and not so far out that it wasn't realistic.
