Starting a new series is exciting, but there’s a good bit of responsibility involved in creating new characters, new towns, new everything. But don’t get me wrong. It’s fun. Really fun. Especially when I grow to love the little world I created...
Living in the wedding capital of the South (Hitching Post, Alabama), shop owner, unofficial relationship therapist, matrimonial cynic, and white magic witch Carly Hartwell is all too familiar with relationship issues of every type.
Offering a variety of potions that help someone find love, cure stomachaches, and ensure a good night’s sleep (to name a few), Carly practices her inherited white magic by creating love and healing potions using some unique magical drops and the herbal recipes recorded in the family’s grimoire. She’s also become somewhat of a relationship expert, which draws more of the town’s residents than tourists to her small shop. She is matchmaker and marriage therapist, family referee and workplace problem solver.
What she never considered herself was amateur sleuth. Carly’s often surrounded by love—not murder. But when a man is found dead in The Little Shop of Potions, Carly finds herself defending her potions, her shop, and her freedom when she becomes the number one suspect in the man’s death.
Carly’s brazen, sassy, loyal to a fault, and loves her friends and wacky family with all her heart, but she’s also quick to temper and has trust issues. She’s absolutely someone I’d love to be friends with, and I hope that after you read A POTION TO DIE FOR that you’ll feel that way, too.
Happy Reading!
