So, somebody tried to pay part of his road assessment in change and someone else made a snarky flyer asking how others would like to pay $7,000 for the road in front of their house. Some opinions about the county commissioners were also aired.

Did these things happen because of an abuse of power? The meetings conducted by Boulder County made it clear that the only choice 10,000-plus households had was a Public Improvement District or a Local Improvement District. It was like getting to choose between rat poison and arsenic. The county wanted to do it and it could, so it did. This is not OK.

The ‘new’ intersection of Niwot Road and the Diagonal cost a gazillion and was a traffic nightmare for almost a year. It basically produced an improved bike lane. Maybe if we can show that county roads are important to bicycles, the commissioners will help. I hope that someone is working on a good bumper sticker.
