2014: Had a breakout season in which he was placed on the RMAC All-Conference Second Team as well as the Omaha World Herald All-Star Team … Led the team with 118 tackles, including 63 solo stops … Has 222 total career tackles, 77 away from being top-10 all-time at CSC  … Had a career-high 19 tackles against Western New Mexico University … Added seven tackles for loss for 31 yards and 2.5 sacks for 20 yards … Also recorded a pass breakup, deflection and quarterback hurry … Named to the RMAC Preseason All-Conference Team … A team captain.
2013: He had a fantastic sophomore campaign and cemented himself as a fixture in the CSC lineup … He finished the season with 75 tackles, second-most on the team, and added seven tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries … He also broke up two passes … He primarily played as an outside linebacker but will move to the middle in 2014 … He was placed on the All-RMAC Third Team following the season and also earned a spot on the All-Nebraska D-II team.
2012: Played in 10 games, starting one at SAM linebacker … He had 29 total tackles, including two for a loss … He also forced a fumble.
2011: Redshirted during his first season at CSC.
High School: Named a Southern Arizona All-Star following the 2010 season where he served as the team’s linebacker, fullback and punter … He was an honorable mention all-state player in 2009 … Came to Chadron State after talking with a former high school coach, Ben Smith … Ben Smith is the son of former athletic director Brad Smith.
Personal: Son of Jeff and Rhonda … A sports and recreation management major with a 3.22 GPA … Has three siblings: Stephanie, Carson and Logan … Born Oct. 21.
