Our ice cream does not contain eggs! They are cream and milk!

Do they have Sugar free options?

Not to my knowledge, no. I'm a regular and I've never seen anything like that on their menu.

Scoops has been my go-to for the past 4-5 years now, and it really pains me to know that they've closed this location. They are, however, opening up another location in Torrance (or may have already opened).
I'll miss the workers -- Rudy, Brian, Sin, and of course, Tai, because of how accommodating and sweet they were. East Hollywood won't be the same!! :(
The closest location to this one is in Highland Park, and that's probably where I'll start going to get my fix. Thanks for the memories, Scoops!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 17, 2019Previous reviewI think Scoops is the only place that I am a consistent regular at. Whenever I go out to have ice cream, if it's not here, I want to come here.
Scoops has been so, so consistent in their flavors, quality, and prices that I really don't enjoy going anywhere else. Yeah, their prices have gone up VERY slightly in the past few years, but is still so affordable (aka still less than $3 for one scoop).
I also love that their service has remained the same. So nice and just really cool people.
BUT my main reason for updating this review? THE BREAD PUDDING. It's $5 for super warm bread pudding with a scoop of your choice! I've already had it twice, once with charcoal and once with horchata (the horchata was better). It's seriously one of the best, most indulgent desserts that I've had for this price. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET IT IT's SO GOODMay 5, 2017Previous reviewIce cream is my favorite dessert, and scoops is just my favorite ice cream place ever, hands down. The customer service is amazing (shoutout to bryan (maybe its brian)) and the flavors are so on point every single time I'm there, which is literally at the very least, once a week.
If you like the brown bread, you NEED to try the bianco bread!!! I tried it for the first time today and honestly i like it way more than the original. Still has grapenuts!Aug 15, 2014Previous reviewBlackberry jasmine!!! the jasmine flavor was prominent, but not overwhelming. SO GOOD! I also sampled their guiness tiramisu and that was really good too.
The kid's scoop is such a good deal. only 2.50!! The worker today (a girl) was so sweet and she was very friendly. Yayy can't wait to come back!
**also I think the one dollar sampling thing is only if you like try all their flavors but don't end up getting anything** if you just sample and actually order something, you don't have to pay~ - 360308721920Mar 11, 2019Updated review
I have been coming here for years and every visit is always a surprise.
They have a few specialty flavors. However, depending on the time of day I go they might have one case of ice cream instead of their usual two cases. I always hope they have something with tea or toffee or Oreo. They always give very generous scoops and price is still very reasonable for specialty ice cream.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Dec 16, 2015Previous reviewScoops never disappoints. I came here recently and found out they now accept card and prices went up another 25c. The employees are always friendly. My most recent visit I had Green Tea Honey (I sweat I'm a sucker for anything green tea or matcha) and Pistachio Jasmine and both flavors were delicious.
Nov 26, 2013Previous reviewI haven't been here in a while and I tried Almond Yuzu and Pineapple Pomegranate. The almond is oh so good..a slight nutty taste to satisfy your taste buds. The pineapple had a VERY subtle pomegranate taste to it.

Yay Scoops!
Vegan options that's beyond just sorbet??? Check!
I'll start with a disclaimer that this is not a place to get mind-blowing vegan ice cream. The Oreo was more icy than regular creamy ice cream. However, I did appreciate having the options to eat with my dairy-inclined friends. My friends and I had just finished dinner in ktown and we weren't about to travel too far just to get dessert. (Well, *they* weren't anyway). I've had better vegan ice cream but Scoops was just one mi away from ktown. It was still pretty tasty for something they don't specialize in. Thank you, Scoops!!
There are usually 2-3 vegan flavors and they rotate. You can call ahead to find out the flavors.
Loved how affordable it was for an ice cream shop! I got the kid scoop (single) and it was a generous amount for less than $3. The regular scoop is actually a double scoop with two flavors. Big kudos for really friendly customer service too!
Plenty of metered street parking available. It's only enforced until 8pm, so if you're like me and have late sweet cravings, you'll be able to park for free!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 2, 2018
So happy I finally came here! Cute lil shop, very colourful and clean. The guy behind the counter was so sweet and accommodating. I tried a couple flavours and settled on the Kabocha Burnt Sugar and Avocado Honey. The kabocha one was SO GOOD. I wanted to hug it but I couldn't stop eating it. The ice creams were smooth and comforting. Well worth the price. I'm going back!
Parking was easy, right out front, but this was Thursday at 3pm, so...Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2018
Scoops is an artisanal ice cream shop owned by Tai Kim that has been around since '05. They offer various scoops in a cup or a cone, to-go pints, shakes (made with milk, soy, or almond), floats (with soda or root beer), ice cream sandwiches, and even a cold brewed coffee float.
I ordered a scoop of the Bananana Cream Oreo, and this was pretty tasty! It had a good strong banana flavor, with little bits of Oreo cookie crumbles throughout. Creamy and tasty!
The employee here was super friendly! The place itself is cute - I love the colorful light fixtures, the vibrant mural just outside, as well as featuring of local artists.
Great local ice cream shop to check out!

This ice cream shop looked small from the outside, and the interior also didn't look very new (very clean though), but the ice cream here was pretty good. They had interesting unfamiliar flavors here (Think Lychee Yuzu, Malt Pretzel, Vanilla Ginger).
Our group of 5 really enjoyed every flavor of ice cream here. The flavor just tasted very good and not too overly sweet. Everyone of us could easily finish 2 scoops of ice cream here.
The server was also super nice, well dressed and well spoken, even though he was the only one running the shop. He dressed up like he was gonna act in a movie or something.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 404863592Apr 2, 2017
This was really close to where we were staying so it was a no brainer to check it out. They also have other locations in LA like one in Chinatown.
Their ice cream is more like gelato in texture and taste. I'm more of an ice cream person but enjoyed these scoops nonetheless.
The Brown Bread flavor is great; make sure to at least try it if you're not convinced by the name or the fact that it's Grapenuts folded in ice cream. A number of the flavors contained alcohol and in general sounded interesting. Not your run of the mill. Definitely check out them out.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 24377852059Feb 11, 2017
Wow, so many unique flavors! When my bf and I went into the shop it was empty besides the one worker. We got to sample sooo many flavors and ended up settling on Maple Cinnamon and Almond Roca (that's one flavor) and then Brown Bread.
There were many bites and pieces in both these flavors adding lots of texture to counter the creaminess of the ice cream. Brown Bread is one of their most popular flavors and it was quite interesting. Bread-y. Lol.
I would come back to try more of their flavor offerings if I was in the area BUT I don't think I would go out of my way just to get Scoops.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mimi C.Los Angeles, CA7303Jun 13, 2019
I've been a rare customer here for a year almost, and I'm very delighted every time I come. They give samples free of charge in case you buy an ice-cream! The flavors are always various and you never know which one you'll get the next time. However, the only downside I've had, and the primary one, is that after each visit this year I've been having stomachache right after consuming their ice-cream. Wouldn't dare ask which ingredients they use, but, obviously, for so many flavors there has to be something artificial that doesn't go well with the stomach.
The prices are reasonable, for 2 ice-creams with 2 different flavors we paid $10.
Maybe will come back, otherwise I don't want to experience pain like this anymore, and it's intense.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aileen L.Los Angeles, CA561138338Dec 2, 2018
Think this place might be my fave ice cream place in LA for now. I came here on Friday 11/30 around 9pm and I want to shout out whoever was working. He was the real MVP. My friends and I tried most of the flavors cause it was our first time and he was so patient and generous throughout the whole experience.
This place apparently makes unique flavors and make a certain amount, once it's out, it's done and replaced with a new flavor. (Posted pictures of what was available when I went) the ones that stuck out to me / I really liked were the following:
Jasmine green tea honey
Rosemary olive oil lava salt
Coconut chai tea
The rest were interesting.... I'll give a shoutout to apple pie it tasted like real apple pie.... I just don't like apple pie LOL.
I really liked how the ice cream was really creamy however it wasn't heavy. It melted really fast in your mouth and was light but full of flavor and so enjoyable. And that's my favorite type of ice cream. Creamy but light. I literally probably could've eaten it forever.
I feel like the pricing is fair and pretty cheap. And if you don't want one single scoop they have a $1 for "just to taste". Anyways Will definitely be back... I hope they make a rose lavender one cause I love rose lavender !!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
