Lucy Chen is a junior at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland. Lucy is passionate about both the business and music fields, and she loves finding ways to mix and integrate both of these interests in her life.

Music has always been a huge part of Lucy's life, and she loves playing music as well as creating it. Having started the study of composition in 2020 with Yiming Wu, Lucy has since won many national and international awards such as Honorable Mention in the Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, and Honorable Mention in the BMI Student Composer Awards competition, and 2nd place in MYO’s Emerging Composers Competition. She enjoys playing piano as well, having studied under Rosita Mang since the age of 4 and won many competitions.

In 2018, Lucy initiated a student-run organization, the Young Artist Music Society (YAMS), with the goal of spreading the love of music and music education to the community. In the past year, YAMS has connected with over 1,000 viewers virtually and spread music education to over 60 students. Through YAMS, Lucy has gained a lot of leadership and management insight.
