    They were very pleased

For folks unfamiliar with the backstory, in the film Monsters vs. Aliens bride-to-be Susan was hit by a meteorite that contained a substance called quantonium, which caused her to grow to an enormous size. After being jilted at the altar by her fiancé, Susan (now dubbed Ginormica), joined a top-secret team of monsters who have pledged to protect the Earth: the goofy B.O.B., a brainless blob of blue jelly, mad scientist Dr. Cockroach, whose head looks just like his name, and The Missing Link, who is part ape, part fish, and all wisecracks. The group teamed up to protect the Earth from an alien invasion and Ginormica found a new home and true friends. The series picks up after the events in the Monsters vs. Aliens film. Team Monster are hanging out, relaxing at their headquarters, Area Fifty-Something, when another alien spaceship arrives. While trying to calm the hysterical President Hathaway, General W.R. Monger and the gang soon determine that the spaceship contains the alien Coverton. He says he wants to make peace with Earth, but may be in cahoots with another alien on a not-too-friendly mission. Coverton and his naughty antics feature in all of the disc’s episodes.
    “Welcome to Area Fifty-Something”
“It Came … On a Field Trip” and “Educational Television”
“Danger Wears a Diaper” and “The Toy From Another World”
“Flipped Out” and “The Wormhole Has Turned”
“The Bath Effect” and “The Fruit of All Evil”
“The Two Faces of Dr. Cockroach” and “The Thing With One Brain”
    “Fremeny Mine” and “Maximum B.O.B.”
“Night of the Living Dog” and “Attack of the Movie Night”

Plays just fine. Bought used, but looks practically new.
    Very satisfied with purchase.

Lots of fun. The series is hit and miss but mostly hit. Coverton is worth the price of admission all by himself. One of the greatest animated characters ever. You gotta love this guy. Conversely ... the fortunately much less used character Sta-abi is not once ounce better than Jar Jar Binks but certainly cut from a similar mold. .... at the end of the day, this series is cute enough, clever enough and overall funny enough to get the job done. It's not as great as The Penguins Of Madagascar or Dragons but if you liked the movie and are willing to come in the door with reasonable expectations for a Nic kids version, there's no reason not to enjoy this series.

I would have liked this better if they had properly identified seasonal number (1, 2, etc) on the cover, but then again I'm very obsessive-compulsive (gotta watch a story in the proper sequence). Remains true to to the initial movie and the artwork and animation (and humor and sight gags) are well done.

This DVD is just such a nice lighthearted one for anybody who is a fan of MvA.

Two adults, chilling out after working a night shift to a couple of episodes = perfection!

Original characters are included although different voice actors which I think tends to be quite normal when there are follow on animated series’s but regardless to that it’s still a fun DVD to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars “Take me to your leader!” [Alien]
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 23, 2016
This isn’t a movie as such, it’s a 2013 collection of the first 15 episodes of the Nickelodeon TV series, Monsters vs Aliens. At Area 50 something, three Aliens, a giant talking cockroach and an oversized woman [susan] help humanity defend earth against Alien intrusions.
Drawing on many classic movies and heavily influenced by ‘50s scifi ‘B’ movies this is a tongue in cheek humorous series that is definitely entertaining. This actually follows on from the 2009 film, which introduces Susan and the Aliens, but it is not essential to have seen that before viewing this.
The single disc opens to a language screen offering most European languages, then goes to main menu offering play, episodes, world of dreamworks and set up [most European languages in 2.0, English 2.0/5.1 and subtitles available as for languages]
Whatever your age, if you like wacky cartoons, this is not to be missed. Children will love the madcap antics and its guaranteed to raise more than a few laughs. Rated age 6 and over.
