Think of paper aeroplanes and a folded up 2-second flier probably comes to mind.

Not so for San Francisco student Luca Iaconi-Stewart, who’s spent a painstaking six years building a replica Boeing 777 out of Manila folders.

Iaconi-Stewart was inspired to start the project during a 2008 architecture class where he learnt to make models out of card.

The 22-year-old began his incredible static 1:60 scale model back in 2008 after becoming inspired from an architecture class where he learnt to make simple models out of card.

The model is accurate down to tiny details like overhead compartments and seats.

“I took the idea a step further and began work on this plane, though I never anticipated it reaching its present level of complexity,” he told CNET.

Experts have said Iaconi-Stewart's model is entirely faithful to the actual aircraft's design.

Aviation experts have hailed Iaconi-Stewart’s labor of love as being entirely faithful to the aircraft’s design – with its tiny seats, overhead compartments and video screens in the back of each chair.
