We provide conductive education in Brighton to help children with physical disabilities

Story

My colleagues and I from the Hilton Brighton Metropole are competing against each other in the I Charleston Strictly competition, at the Brighton Fringe Festival.  The competition takes place on the 6th May 2017 at the Speigletent located at the Old Steine. Timings for the event will be between 1300 & 1600 tickets are £14.00. There will be some live music, workshops and then the strictly competition.  On the day you can buy pink dollars to use to vote for your favourite performance, the person with most dollars wins the competition. All donation will be given to charity.

We have chosen to support a Local children's charity called Whoopsadaisy it is a small charity based in Brighton providing Conductive education to help children with Physical disabilities live life as independently as possible. Most of the Children at Whoopsadaisy have cerebral palsy and all of them face daily challenges in terms of their mobility, co-ordination and balance. Many of the children also have speech, communication and learning difficulties.

How Whoopsadaisy makes a difference

"At Whoospadaisy our starting point is always what children can do, rather than what they are unable to do. The conductive education approach is not only about physical skills - such as being able to sit up, stand or walk without help - it's also about self confidence, being able to communicate with others, to sit at the table with the rest of your family for a meal, or to get dressed by yourself. Sessions are run by trained 'conductors' and Volunteers, with a fun mix of physical tasks, obstacle courses, singing and play, designed to help each child progress towards their individual goals."
