MACE’s Phil Leach will be presenting a screening of Derbyshire industrial films at the Ritz Cinema in Belper, Derbyshire on 26th and 27th October as part of Derwent Valley Mills’ Discovery Days annual festival.
A World Heritage Site since 2001, Derwent Valley Mills Site stretches fifteen miles from Matlock Bath to Derby, including the East and North Mill in Belper.
The World Heritage Site Discovery Days Festival runs from Saturday 26th October to Sunday 3rd November, during the school half-term break and over 100 activities and events will be ran for all ages.
As part of the Discovery Days The Ritz is screening another ‘Derbyshire on Film’ compilation. MACE have been presenting these screenings annually in October for some years now and they are very popular.

The screening will include two recently discovered films of Ripley in the 1920s, a look at the famous Derbyshire firm of Butterley Ironworks and a rarely seen documentary about textile manufacture in the Midlands which includes a visit to Richard Arkwright’s pioneering mill at Cromford.
The screenings are on Saturday 26th October at 8.30pm and Sunday 27th October at 5.30pm
