The year 2102--the world as it was no longer exists. Ravaged by nuclear war and polluted almost to the point of no return, Earth was dying. When the faeries came and brought their healing magic, humanity was grateful at first. Centuries of damage repaired in just five years, and during the course of that rehabilitation, they invaded. Quietly overthrown, the human race is now enslaved. The majority doesn’t even realize they have no free will. Branded, herded and kept only to further the agendas of the Fae Courts, humanity could be facing extinction.

But a resistance is coming…

Fianna Dolan has spent her entire young life preparing herself for an uprising against the Fae. One scorching summer night Fi's parents leave and never return. Thrust into a position of power she never expected, Fi struggles with her new position and the responsibility it entails. When a secretive fae man known only as Flint breaches the city’s defenses claiming he can help, Fi begins to doubt everything she's ever considered truth. As betrayals and deception come to light, will Fi want the answers she’s been seeking, or will trusting Flint lead to her destruction?

Allana Kephart has been making things up and bending people to her will from a very young age. She loves animals, tattoos, music, laughing, and reading. She spends an obscene amount of time finding pretty new words and thinking up awful ways to torment her characters.

When not writing, she can be found walking one of her many furbabies, making havoc with her credit union work buddies, or jamming out in her car to Broadway musical soundtracks. She lives in the beautiful state of Colorado with fur-babies.

Oh... my... gosh!! I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into here, is it a love story, an action story, a survival story? I tell ya, it's all in one and so much more. It's a dystopian with a touch of magic, it's a romance with heart break and betrayal, and it's a rebellion against the Fae who have enslaved most of humanity. It. Is. Awesome.

The writing is what captured me the most. Between the two authors, the chemistry and the excitement of Uprising particularly leaps off the pages. Half the time I had my fingernails in my mouth, chewing my way through the uncertainty that fell upon our beloved humans and Fae.

There were a lot of POV's through out the length of the first volume, usually this would make me feel overwhelmed and alienated from each personal's plight but Allana Kephart and Melissa Simmons managed to rope me in. Every character had a distinct personality, a distinct problem and a feel of realism that is only achieved with fast paced, gripping writing. I absolute loved Fi. She inspired all those around her in some way, be it her protective nature over her group and her brother or her vulnerability with her kind warm heart.
She was betrayed and hurt by someone dear and made the choice many of us couldn't.

The banter between Flint and Fi was extremely refreshing. It was funny, it was quick witted an it felt natural. I especially love it didn't just focus around them and their romance, the story was bigger than it, it was bigger than just them.

Honestly, I didn't know what was going to happen and I absolutely love that in a novel. The moment it starts feeling predictable is usually the time I tune out. Wonderful book, wonderful characters and wonderful suspense. Congratulations Allana and Melissa, you're terrific writers.

5/5 Stars.

I received a free copy of the book from the authors for my honest opinion.

Fi lives in a world that was devastated by nuclear war but the Fae came along and fixed it for them. They made it beautiful and livable again. The Earth was dying and the Fae brought it back to life. But there is one thing the humans didn't know when they Fae fixed the earth that they were going to have to pay with their life or their freedom. Humans were rounded up like cattle and taken to the home of the Fae. The Fae uses the humans as slaves or animals waiting on them hand and foot.

Fi and her sixteen year old brother Eirnin are not a part of the Faes enslavement. They are trying to find a way to stop the Fae from taking humans as slaves. Fi is a young woman of nineteen with a great big heart who never wants to hurt anyone Fae or human but sometimes she is put in a situation where she has no choice.

Fi's father was given some info on how to fight the Fae and take back their lives. So Fi's father and mother both leave their little community one day in search of this info. They are supposed to return in a couple of weeks but they never return and no one knows if they are alive or dead. With Fi's father gone and is not expected to come back leaves Fi in charge of her family as well as the leader of the whole group. Before Fi's father leaves he tells her to keep a close watch on her brother Eirnin because the Fae are coming for him.

One day this new guy just shows up out of nowhere. Most or some of the people don't like this new guy Flint because he is a Fae. They don't take the time to get to know him and find out what kind of person or Fae he is they just dislike him because he is Fae. Fi and Eirnin both like Flint especially Fi who just happens to fall in love with him. But that is ok because Flint is in love with her as well. They make a good couple, they may be a lot of difference in their sizes but their hearts are probably about the same size though. Flint doesn't approve of what the Fae are doing to the humans and wants to help them.

I feel bad for Fi when she finds out that her one and only real friend who also happens to be her cousin Sean has betrayed her. And she ends up having to do something she never thought she would have to do. But she has no choice in the matter the evidence is all there and it all points in one direction. Fi has so much on her for some so young. So many lives depend on her and the decision she is forced to make. But she deals with it quite well for someone of her age.age.

I loved reading and following a long with each and every character in Uprising. They all seem so real as if you are standing right there beside them and you want to reach out and give Fi, Eirnin, Flint and Lumi all a helping hand. You want to stand by their side when the time comes to fight the Fae. You feel as if you are a part of their world or at the least wish you could be with them to just make things easier for them. I am going to make a prediction here I believe that Uprising is going to be the most talked about book of 2014. So hey maybe you should grab your copy today so you can jump on the band wagon. You don't want to miss out and not know what everyone is talking about now do you?

The book is a dystopian novel, set in the future after a nuclear war has devastated the earth, the planet is dying and the fairies step forward to save it. What humans don’t realize is that they plan to take over and soon humans are little more than slaves and outlaws. Some humans have banded together, living as renegades to try and figure out how to fix the fae issue. Fianna’s family stands at the heart of a renegade band, always trying to gather information to try and fix the problem but not quite making it yet. Fianna’s parents left on a mission and haven’t reappeared so Fi is in charge of the group, and of keeping her brother Eir safe. Little do they know there is dissension in the ranks working against them. When a fairy who is disenchanted with his own kind joins them it makes the rogues unhappy and starts things snowballing.
I absolutely love the characters in this book, they are written in such detail that it is very easy to close your eyes and picture each one of them. From Fianna the spitfire to her cousin douche bag Sean. I can picture Flint sitting in a tree and listening in where nobody sees him, but me. I see the house that Fianna and her brother live in, the places Fi runs to destress. I feel like I could stroll into the book and say hi, I know you! Better yet, the feelings are so intense it makes me want to wipe tears, laugh at their jokes, hug them, punch people. I lived this book. All in all isn’t that what a book is supposed to do?
Considering I was privileged enough to read it from the very start I can tell you that these two woman have made remarkable strides in their writing. I read parts of the book that were basically still outlines and watched as it was fleshed out. I was excited to watch the progress as I have never really done that before. It was fun watching something grow and become beautiful. Then, curling up to read this book felt like going home, a comfortable, enjoyable place to be. It made me want more. In fact I am already nagging for the next book. This is an excellent debut novel and I recommend it highly. Definitely a 5 star read. Many thanks to Allana Kephart and Melissa Simmons for sharing their work with me. It has been such a pleasure to read and review for you.

~this review may contain minor spoilers~

I am completely capable of holding my own in a fight. For the umpteen millionth time, I wonder when, or maybe I should say if Fi will remember I am more than just one more responsibility hanging around her neck. I miss her, which sucks because she’s still right here in front of me. She’s just become this unreachable, sad girl who tries to keep all of her emotions in a little box locked away inside herself. I want my sister back, plain and simple.
~Eirnin Dolan

Well now, that was just....Wow- I'm almost at a loss for words. Two brand spanking new authors in their debut and they have entered the scene with a bang! There were so many layers to the characters, the environment was so vivid you felt like you were there, desperation and despair bled off the pages but there were moments of levity that kept you from drowning under the weight of their situation. This book completely sucks you under and holds you there all the way through to the heart-stopping ending. It was truly amazing, I just loved it.

no one really wants to hear from an Autumn Court reject who would like to offer his services. ‘I’m here to help’ didn’t exactly work in their favor the last time.
Putting it lightly, I really didn’t think this move through. I never said
I was a genius.

The year is 2102 and the world is nothing like we now know it. After a nuclear war that has earth on the brink of total destruction, humanity is saved by the Fae not realizing exactly what we are getting ourselves into. Yes, they do save us from extinction and their powers over the elements eventually begin to restore what was lost-but the price is our freedom. The takeover by the Fae is so subtle, most don't even realize what is happening until it is to late and now human's are nothing more than the property of the Fae- captured, imprisoned, branded and used only to the benefit of the Fae courts. But little does the Fae know, a resistance is coming...

“We should probably head back. You and Fi aren’t too close yet, and I don’t want you facing her wrath.”
“Yeah she terrifies me. Quaking in fear over here.”
He smirks at me. “I think that’s truer of a statement than you’d like it to be.”
I roll my eyes and punch his arm as he walks by, but I’m smiling anyway. Unfortunately he’s kind of right. The girl is violent, what do you want from me?

Fianna Dolan has spent her entire life preparing for the day that humanity takes their freedom back from the Fae. Born and raised in a compound with others like her, they take care of their own and remain under the radar of the Fae. But when her parents leave on a scouting mission one night and never return, Fi is forced into a position of power she isn't quite prepared for. With a community to look after and a younger brother she will protect til her death, Fi learns the hard way to be very careful who she puts her trust in. When a lone Fae known only as Flint breaches their sanctuary promising he is only there to help their cause, can she trust him? Or will having him there risk everything they have built and put everyone she has sworn to protect in more danger than she could possibly realize?

Now, a smart man would just drop this altogether. A smart man would let her go off and have her hissy fit, and then try to talk some sense into her in the morning. A smart man would respect the fact she carries multiple weapons that could inflict fatality upon anyone she so desired.
I’ve still never admitted to being a smart man.
~Flint

Right from the beginning this book leaves you guessing, you never know what is gonna happen next, who to trust, or if they have any chance at all of not getting discovered by the Fae eventually. The challenges that Fi faces at such a young age seems insurmountable. She really is an incredible, if stubborn woman who has not been able to rely on anyone in a very long time. She carries the weight of the community entirely on her shoulders and she does it beautifully. But all you really want is for her to find someone who can help her carry the load. Flint was just the best- Sarcastic and cocky but still unsure and naive enough that it was hard not to love him, even if we're unsure of his intentions. But that ending?! WTH DUDES-REALLY?! I really REALLY need to know how long I'm gonna have to wait to find out just WTH happened, seriously. But so worth the frustration and insanity, these authors have taken the paranormal/dystopian genre by storm and I am DYING to see where they take me next.

She could be sleepwalking is my justification for worrying about her. After all, she didn’t even notice me lying here. Wouldn’t want her to fall and hit her head on something…
Who am I kidding? I can’t even fool myself at this point. I’m actually worried for no justifiable reason at all, except that I care about her. And that thought terrifies me straight to my bones, so I will sit in happy denial for now, thanks.

This book is set about 90 years in the future, after World War III destroyed much of the planet and the fae decided to take over before humanity could do any more damage. Not an uncalled for step in my opinion, but the taken measures are devastating - leading to the complete enslavement of humanity.
But there is a group of humans forming a resistance in (what is left of) New York City, lead by 20 year old Fianna who took over after her parents never returned from a quest to find the key to the salvation of humanity.
While Fianna is constantly trying to keep her 16 year old brother Eirnin safe, the faerie man Flint enters the community, claiming to want to help the resistance. As the somewhat twisted cousin Sean demands revenge on the faerie court Lumi, a faerie princess, ends up in New York as well.
After that things go bad... well a little bit bad... and slow... very slow.

And that is my main problem with this book: There is an idea that's got a lot of potential and authors who actually know how to write - even though the first person narration and constant use of present tense are my personal vision of hell. And then there is a plot where nothing ever happens, except for a lot of falling in love and becoming part of the family within mere days.
So much could have and should have happened in this book and instead it was used only as an introduction to a series.
After heaving read this book I can tell you that I do NOT know any details about anyone's past, about what happened in the war, about the fae's tyranny, about how Flint thinks he can help, about what they need Lumi for, about anything actually. There are little hints but not much is actually revealed.

In addition the characters lack depth, even though the story is told from 4 different points of view, I couldn't get a grip on the personality of any of the main characters. This is something I do believe can still be developed in the following books, but honestly there was a lot of space in Uprising to take care of it.

So my overall impression is that this book has a good concept that sadly suffered a lot by being part of a planned series and thusly wasn't developed properly for the sake of getting more books into it.
I hope the characters are added some dimension in the next books and that there will be more action happening, but I am not going to find out.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review over the Lovers of Paranormal group.

As Goodreads asks me what I thought about Uprising...

FIRST I just want to let these two ladies know that I want to not maim, well okay maybe a little, for leaving the ending there. Seriously, what were you thinking? What have I ever done to you? GEEZ.

SECOND, let me tell you readers about it.

Wait, hold on, I need my pasta roni to carb out while I gather my thoughts.

For those of you who are tired of those books where he, as I use a good friends words "tweaked her business" this one here is great. It's a welcome change for me, without all the heavy humping and what nots. There IS romance but it's not the center of attention here. More like a second layer.

Fianna is a young girl who her parents entrusted to watch over the house and the rest of the family while they go on a searching mission. She's a very stubborn girl but she has a heart of gold and won't take no shiz off of anyone who tries to threaten herself and her family, especially her little brother, Eirnin.

Eir is a sweet 16 year old boy who has some secrets himself he isn't ready to let his sister in on yet.

GAH, there's so much to talk about, yet I'm afraid that I'll spoil it for you lot. Which is something I really DO NOT want to do. That would be an injustice.

However, I will say this. I can't believe that they are gone. I don't know where they went or if they were taken or who took them at all. I wish I knew. I can't wait to know. Another thing, apparently he isn't dead, thank goodness one of them is still alive. OH yeah, he is an A-hole. I'd like to harm him myself...if only book teleportation was available.

FLINT. Nuff said there.

A very well executed debut novel. Well written, well explained, but not over explained. I will definitely read this again. I can't wait for the next in this series because I have a serious cliffhangover and it's not cool at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book. It was filled with adventure and even a bit of romance. I loved the unique combination of Fae fantasy and Dystopian New Adult, with an exciting line up of characters, who were richly developed and well written.

The story was well paced and quite suspenseful. I couldn't wait to burn through the pages to see where it would go, and what other surprises the authors had for me, because this book was filled with twists and turns that kept me enthralled.

This book filled me with many emotions, and at times I felt my heart shatter, and at times I was filled with an immense amount of joy. Flint was absolutely adorable. There was just no way I couldn't fall in love with his quirkiness and humor. Fianna was kick ass. An amazing, strong female protagonist who strived to protect those she loved above all else, even if at times it felt like she was smothering them. Her heart was in the right place and I couldn't fault her for that. Eir was a bit of a mystery. He has special gifts that seem to put a target on his back, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of him. I'm also excited to see where things go with him and Lumi. They're obviously connected in a way no one understands yet.

Of course, the book had to end on a huge cliff-hanger that will keep me waiting in anticipation for the next book. I have no doubt it will be as awesome! And I'm looking forward to getting answers to the many questions this book left me with. I cannot wait!!

The story takes in 2102 after nuclear war and pollution have destroyed Earth as we know it. The fae come to heal the world, but their true intentions were to enslave the human race!

Fianna and the rest of the Dolan family are part of the rebel group trying to overthrow the fairies government. Her parents head out on an information gathering trip, and leave Fi in control of the compound, but they never return. She's then pushed into permanent leadership that is constantly trying and stressful since she also has the added responsibility of her brother Eir. One morning on her regular A.M. run she runs across a fairy named Flint, who claims he's there to help them overthrow the Fae. Why would he want to do that? Weren't all fae out to enslave humans? He makes a promise to her that is unbreakable, and soon is a very integral part of her life. As they get to know one another, there is humor, snarkiness, and passion.

You'll fall in love with the beautiful, strong, loving Fi and the very sexy, protective, caring Flint and enjoy their evolving relationship. Flint is very swoon worthy and I look forward to the next book in the Dolan Prophecies. Excellent debut, well written, beautiful characters, and flowing story line. This book is a must read!

LOVED this book!! It has everything a reader is looking forward to in a great read. Allana and Melissa are both incredible authors and masters of their skill. You don't even realize that two authors put this little masterpiece together! Their writing style is perfect and they are very good in keeping a good pace in the book. Not once did I feel rushed or felt like the story was dragging on too long.

The characters are a fantastic blend of individuals that you can't help but fall in love with. I particularly like Flint but Lumi is also one of my favorite character. And you can't help but feel with Fianna and her brother. The villains slowly precipitate in this book.

All in all this was a fantastic read. My biggest issue was the cliffhanger it was left one making me itch for the next part to come out!!!

I have received this book from the author for an honest review. (LoP, Lovers of Paranormal)

This story is AMAZING. Seriously. I didn't even have to 'get in to' the story - I was captivated from the Prologue. I am usually a little skeptical of books written by more than one author, just because I'm always afraid there will be continuity issues, or that I'll be able to tell more than one person wrote it. I think the authors were smart in having multiple points of view, because there's a legitimate reason the voices are different. Flint is by far my favorite character - he's snarky, pissy and devilishly handsome. Although the book was incredibly long (you definitely get your money's worth!), the story moves along at a fast pace and keeps you guessing until the very end....er, cliffhanger. UGH!!! Hey - no worries - the ending makes it physically impossible for someone to NOT want to buy book #2. Get to writing, ladies!! Recommend this book for readers 17+.

I have to say this was a really different book for me to read… but that’s a good thing. I love different. There’s a liveliness to this story that I found quite refreshing. I loved Fi, she was very feisty, protective, do-it-yourself (I can so relate) kind of person. I loved the chemistry and relationship between her and Flint – loved when he ribs her about her skills. There is always this feeling of threat. Fi and her brother are trying to find out what really happened to their parents – were they really killed? I have to say that Lumi’s journey – whoa! She had it tough.

It is quite an interesting read that will definitely keep your attention. There is a mystery of secrets, lies and deceit that slowly unfolds leading to the truth as to who is behind it all. I definitely recommend it. Good story that definitely leads into making me want to read book 2. Looking forward to it.

Flint will become your favorite silly/swoony book boyfriend & the book will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more. This book was FANTASTICALLY different from other books I've read and I loved every second of it. It had just the right amount of everything; suspense, action, romance, hilarity...I cannot wait to find out what happens next and may just harass the authors until they tell me LOL!
PS... Flint is CLAIMED :) <3

Uprising (The Dolan Prophecies Series #1)

I received a free copy, through LoP on Goodreads, in exchange for a review.

Earth was dying, there was no denying that. Between countless nuclear wars and the fight against pollution lost, everything was bleak in 2102 - until the faeries came out, to try and heal the earth, with their magic. Success happened within time, but there was one downfall to this overall plan - humans became a conquered people, not overnight, but over this time, that they didn't even realize what was happening, until of course it was too late. Treated like cattle, they were becoming extinct. But, as history taught us, there is always a rebellion ready to explode and Fianna has spent her entire life for this reason, to free her people. Fate has a funny way of showing itself and when a self-exiled Fae enters into their compound, claiming he can help, she wonders what the motivation is behind his offer. Then she begins to wonder if everything she ever knew was not the whole truth.

"They are with him, sister. You know where. You should go now," Aoife says, sounding somber. I jump up as understanding finally dawns. I know where I have to go to find my sons. I only hope they fare better in this twisted fate than the rest of my family. I am running now, through fields of wildflowers and down a path to a valley where there is a cottage hidden in the side of a hill, listening to my sister's whispered words the entire time. With each step I take I am surer that I will never recover from what I'm about to witness. Normally when I reach this door, I bound inside for a joyous reunion. I'm terrified of the devastation I can feel waiting for me there now.'

Second five star book of the year! It really from the very beginning and did not disappoint at all. I love the inner struggle in Fi, the mystery of Flint and the playfulness of Lumi & Eri. I can't wait for the next book!

These authors really astonished me on their seasoned writing style. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the book. This book was a diamond in the rough let me tell you! By far a great dystopian novel regarding the enslavement of humanity by the fae. These authors were able to be beautifully descriptive without being overly detailed. Each character was believable and you were able to relate to each one.

The bad: As I said it was a diamond in the rough and by rough I mean the cover didn't appeal to me in the least. Unfortunately it looked unprofessional and didn't not convey the story I read.

The cliffhanger-- Although the book is long I was bummed that it ended with a cliffhanger. I am not big fan of cliffhangers.

I think the only thing we could fix story wise is add more action but because the book was through several pov's I can understand why it couldn't really embellish on that.

I wish I could give this book a Five Star on the writing alone but I rate the overall package:

Story Opening: 1 star
Character development: 1 star
Plot: 1 star
Conclusion: 1/2 star
Book Cover: 0 stars

Bonus: I will give a half star because I will be reading the next book just because I've been mulling over it all day. You intrigued me.

4 stars.

I was a bit surprised by Uprising. I wasn't exactly sure about the book at first but, I am glad I gave it a chance. As the story is told in multiple narration and at times could be a little confusing. That however, is the only reason I gave it four stars. Uprising is a wonderful story otherwise. I enjoyed getting to know all of the characters I especially loved the fairies(fae) and though they are the ones in charge and humans are made slaves there were quite a bit of the fae who did not agree with this. Fianna also known as Fi is thrown into a power she was not prepared for yet she quickly accepts it and tries to take it full on only to find out thing may not be as they seem or how the human race has been told. As Fi begins to uncover truths that no one was aware of the story takes on a whole new twist leaving wanting to cheer on Fi and all she does! I would love to see where this story goes from here as I am positive Fi and the other lives in this book still have a story or two left to tell.

I read Resistance in preparation for the Band Of Dystopian Authors and Fans Facebook release party. I am pleased to say that I loved it! I haven’t read a book with Faeries heavily involved in probably ever, so it was a nice change. Dystopian + Faeries= awesome! Young Fi is left to be in charge of the human city when her parents don’t return. While I DO think maybe her uncle should’ve stood up and taken over, she did a great job under all that pressure. I like that she seemed real. She wasn’t folding under the pressure of taking care of everyone, including her brother, but she was definitely stressed. This makes her more human to me and I could relate!
I loved Flint. Give me a snarky, fun MC any day. Especially if he can turn into a fox! The characters were very relatable, likable, and fun! I highly recommend Resistance to anyone who likes magic, deceit, love, and a good ol’ dystopian story.

Humans destroyed the earth, turning it into a wasteland. Enter the fairies who offer to clean it up and restore it to its original beauty. Only, they have an ulterior motive. The fairies clean up the earth, and in return they enslave the human race, but there’s a group of humans ready to fight for their world and take it back.

I haven’t read may fairy stories. Not by choice, it just seems that I haven’t gravitated toward that genre yet. But I thoroughly enjoyed Uprising. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series! I’m not going to lie, this book is long! But well worth the read. The characters were fun and believable, the story was well planned out and thorough. I recommend Uprising to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance. I wish there had been a little more action, but from what I hear, there’s plenty of that coming in the next books. Grab this book, read it! Five stars!

An amazing surprise !!!
When I started reading this book my mind was set on one thing, but this story of a young woman fighting to save her people, only to fall in love with the very thing that had human of the world is enslaved. The question become can she trust her heart to believe that all fae are not evil. Fianna, was left to protect the small rebellion group and her younger brother when her parents disappeared. In a world full of betrayal, secrets and lies who can she trust? Or do she follows her heart and give into the one person she is support to hate? This story had me from page one, I was glued to it like air for breathing. I am on pins and needles waiting on the next adventure into the world fairies and human. This a must read for everyone that loves paranormal fantasies.
We are dreaming of a fantastic five stars rating.*****

What an amazing read!!! I absolutely loved this story! I wasn't sure how well I was going to like the switching the point of view throughout the story, but the authors made it work. I was got in completely emerge myself into this future where the Fae were in charge. The characters were relatable. The main character Fi, wasn't your typical heroine. You are able to feel what she was feeling. You understood her need to be in charge at all times, and her unfailing love towards those who matter most. The supporting characters are an important part of this story also. The love interest for Fi, Flint is my kind of guy! If I had a Flint in my life I would never let him go. He is the perfect mix of sarcasm and sexiness! I can not wait to read the rest of this series! And I am so going to buy hard copies of these stories so that I can see them sitting on my "favorites" bookcase!!!

I received a copy of this book from the authors in exchange for an honest review.I really liked this book. The story centers around a young woman Fianna trying to survive in a world controlled by the Fae.The human population is treated as little more than slaves.Fianna is the leader of a free city of humans after her parents disappear. The story includes romance and betrayel and the difficult choices she must make to survive in a threatening world. The characters are well developed and i found myself caring about their futures.I recommend this book to anyone looking for a unique take on the dystopian genre.

I can't say enough good things about this book. This is a much different type of dystopian story and it was very intriguing. I found myself completely glued to this captivating story - I absolutely could not put it down. I immediately bought the next book and it was also awesome. I highly recommend this book as well as the second book, Ensnared: a Dolan Prophecies Series Novella!! I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

Part fantasy, part dystopian, part romance, with a strong circle of main characters and a ton of awesomeness!

I absolutely loved the different points of view within the time line sharing with the reader what multiple characters are experiencing (love, heartache, betrayal, frustration, and joy to make a few) during the story.

I love Fi, Eir, Flint and Lu and cannot wait to follow their journeys!

I love this team of writers. This is the first book i have read by them but i will be keeping up with them from now on. The storyline was engrossing and kept me up half the night reading because i couldnt stop flipping to see what was going to happen next. The world of fae isnt usually in my reading wheelhouse but i enjoyed this so much i might add more books on fae.

i recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read.

Oh how I loved this book! Dystopia meets faery which lets face it are among two of my favorite things. This first book in the series has amazing characters and a fantastic storyline. I simply cannot wait to see where it goes in book two especially since it ends with a cliffhanger!

This book will infuriate you if you have a basic knowledge of any of the following: fairies, coffee, agriculture, economy, history, human interaction, anthropology, zoology, geography, weather, foxes, genetics, grammar, any of the liberal arts, survival, the passage of time, classic literature, the decay of tangible objects over time, reasons to get married, politics, leadership, strong female protagonists, rebellions, doing the dishes.

Personally, I found this to be in very bad taste.

So many plot threads are dropped, and never picked back up. This lead to a meandering plot that went nowhere.

If you're going to read this, drink a bottle a wine, and imagine that Fi sounds like Richard Nixon. It's the only way I got through it.
