What do you want to see in Downtown Okotoks? Now you have an opportunity to voice your opinion.

Okotoks Senior Planner, Colin Gainer says the Town is now accepting feedback from residents on two different mediums.

There's an online survey and an interactive map, where residents can leave notes and comments on certain buildings, landmarks, and roadways.

"There's two different online feedback tools set up, the first is an online mapping tool where people can log on and submit or see any comments raised today, and past comments put forward at the open house back in April." Gainer says there's also a survey for Okotokians to complete. "The second tool is our downtown design survey. That's a series of questions about high level design considerations about future developments, both re-development of existent buildings or other private land opportunities, as well as public realm improvement like sidewalks, street-scapes that kind of thing."

Gainer shares that the goal of this is to understand the direction the residents want to see the town move in.

"What we're looking at through this whole project is getting some feedback on the whole downtown. Aspects of downtown that they like, or that they wish they could see in the downtown area, and then design and character aspects as well."

As you log on to add your feedback and point of view, Gainer adds, don't forget to include what's working well.

"The key thing to keep in mind is, what you enjoy about downtown, what would we really like to see, and what we don't want to go away. So if it's historical types of buildings, landscape treatments, the way certain things are designed etc."

Information will be gathered until Sunday, May 14th so this is the final weekend to get your voice heard.
