Structure:

Structure is a fundamental, tangible or intangible notion referring to the recognition, observation, nature, and permanence of patterns and relationships of entities. This notion may itself be an object, such as a built structure, or an attribute, such as the structure of society. The description of structure implicitly offers an account of what a system is made of: a configuration of items, a collection of inter-related components or services. A structure may be a hierarchy (a cascade of one-to-many relationships), a network featuring many-to-many links, or a lattice featuring connections between components that are neighbors in space. RULES:
1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.
2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.
3. The contest moderator will choose 5 photos to be voted on.
4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way, not an option.)
5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.
6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.
7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.

Just arrived in Washington DC this week. Seems like a good place to shoot for a "Structure" themed contest.

The Washington monument was damaged by an earthquake about 2 years ago. They have strung lights on the scaffolding that they are using to repair it.

I gotta get out and shoot for this one... I dig the theme, so wide open for interpretation yet focused. It's like, the theme has structure and freedom within those confines.

Some strong entries in this MPC, despite the relatively few submissions. I don't envy Butterscotch for having to decide on 5.

Yeah, it's going to be difficult. Lots of interesting photos.

I'm going to set an arbitrary cutoff at 11 pm MDT today if anyone is still planning on entering. And if anyone on the West coast desperately needs a couple more hours, let me know.
