Pamela Geller in Haaretz

I responded to a particularly mindless but vicious smear written against me and my work in Haaretz. On the eve of Passover and the then-impending anniversary of the Boston savage bombing, Haaretz ran a piece entitled, “In Boston, saying ‘No’ to Pamela Geller’s savage hate.” I asked that in the interests of journalistic fairness, that they give me the space to Michael Felsen’s to baseless defamation.

They would not run my rebuttal but allowed 125 words:

Haaretz’s moral compass, Pamela Geller

Story continues below advertisement

Haaretz’s upside-down moral compass was illustrated again by Michael Felson’s piece on my battle in Boston to put up pro-Israel ads that he calls hateful. Imagine calling the defense of Israel against the savage jihad that endeavors to destroy it “hateful,” while turning a blind eye to Islamic anti-Semitism.haaretz geller

My ad is disparaging and demeaning? Only to savages. Any war targeting innocent civilians is savagery. The war on the Jewish people is against innocent civilians. Targeting schools with missiles and the slaughter of the Fogel family is savagery. Felson called the ad “anti-Muslim.” But it doesn’t refer to all Muslims; if it did, that would mean that all Muslims support jihad and Jew-hatred. Sounds as if Felson is the true “Islamophobe.”

Felson invokes the SPLC and the ADL to support his libelous charges. But the SPLC is a subversive organization that partners with Islamic supremacist groups to destroy America from within. My human rights organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, is dedicated to freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and individual rights. That’s hate? This is the morally inverted state of the world.

The ADL is no better. Its director, Abe Foxman, took a once-vital organization and turned it hard left, going relentlessly after fierce proud Jews like me. Yet the ADL is actually no friend of the Jews: it has freely criticized Israel.

Felson refers to “the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing tragedy.” It wasn’t a tragedy. It was an atrocity. Felson is helping to ensure it will be replicated by defaming one of the few people who raises a voice against its root causes. When the next jihad attack takes place, and there is no “Islamophobe” left to call on law enforcement to take a more realistic approach to jihad terrorism, will Felson open a bottle of champagne?

Pamela Geller

============================================================================

Here is the whole thing, which by rights they should have run:

Pamela Geller
Just Before Passover, Brandeis Chooses Slavery

Haaretz’s inverted moral compass was abundantly illustrated once again by Michael Felson’s piece on my free speech battle to put up pro-Israel ads in Boston. Felson begins by saying: “Pamela Geller has brought the fight for the right to hate to Boston.”

Imagine calling the defense of free speech, the freedom of conscience, and equality of rights for all “the right to hate,” while turning a blind eye to the real unvarnished prejudice and unapologetic hatred of Islamic anti-Semitism (which is based on numerous passages of the Qur’an).

Felson claims that the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority rejected our ad (which reads, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad”) “on the grounds that it would demean and disparage a group of individuals – in this case Muslims and/or Palestinians – and so would violate a specific T ad guideline.” But actually the MBTA only said that our ad was “disparaging and demeaning.” It didn’t specify to whom, because it can’t. The ad doesn’t mention either Muslims or Palestinians, and any Muslims and Palestinians who oppose the savage jihad against Israel are not actually included.

In reality, if the ad is disparaging and demeaning, it is only to savages. For any war targeting innocent civilians is savagery. And the war on the Jewish people is a war on innocent civilians. Whether it’s targeting schools with missiles from Gaza or the bloody wholesale slaughter of a Jewish family in the middle of the night, the Fogel family, it’s savagery. Jihad is savage. The murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens was savage. The relentless 60-year campaign of terror against the Jewish people is savage. The torture of hostage Gilad Shalit was savage. The bloody hacking to death of the Fogel family was savage. The Munich Olympic massacre was savage. The unspeakable torture of Ehud Goldwasser was savage. The tens of thousands of rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel (into schools, homes, etc.) are savage. The vicious Jew-hatred behind this genocide is savage. The endless demonization of the Jewish people in the Palestinian and Arab media is savage. The refusal to recognize the state of Israel as a Jewish state is savage. The list is endless.

Felson invokes the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League to try to give substance to his claim that my fighting for freedom equals “hate.” He doesn’t tell readers that the SPLC is a dangerous subversive organization that partners with Islamic supremacist and other treasonous groups to destroy America from within. The SPLC lists my organizations as hate groups. My American Freedom Defense Initiative is a human rights organization dedicated to freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and individual rights, and is designated a hate group by a vicious uber-left, pro-jihadist organization that lists very, very few Islamic groups as hate groups. This is the morally inverted state of the world.

The Weekly Standard has down an extensive exposes on these highly-paid scammers and fraudsters here. The communists over at the Southern Poverty Law Center are actually among the gravest threats to freedom in the United States, “a wellspring of manufactured hate” and are named as such in the AFDI Threats to Freedom Index.

The ADL is no better. Its longtime national director, Abe Foxman, took a once-vital organization and turned it hard left, going relentlessly after fierce proud Jews like me. And more than any other, Jew-haters loved to flaunt the ADL’s condemnation of my work. Yet the ADL was actually no friend of the Jews: it freely criticized Israel. Foxman attacked my lawyer, David Yerushalmi, an orthodox Jew. Foxman even went after Joan Rivers (I kid you not). But he walked on eggshells with anti-Semitic Muslim groups.

Now that Foxman is on his way out, perhaps the ADL will finally recognize the Armenian Genocide.

In sum, Felson uses far-left groups to smear me in the far-Left Haaretz with his repeated charge of “hate,” saying: “Ms. Geller, Boston has no use for anti-Muslim hate-mongering – for smearing our Muslim friends and neighbors with outrageous, unfounded stereotyping – at any time, and particularly as we approach the anniversary of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing tragedy.” It wasn’t a tragedy. It was an atrocity. And it is one that Michael Felson is helping to ensure will be replicated by defaming one of the very few people who raises a voice against its root causes. When the next jihad attack takes place, and there is no “Islamophobe” left to call on law enforcement to take a sounder and more realistic approach to jihad terrorism, will Michael Felson open a bottle of champagne?
