Poldark is seen forcing himself upon his former lover Elizabeth who says no to his advances three times before he pushes her on a bed and has sex with her.
The BBC insists that the scene shows consensual sex. In the book which the drama is based on, it is a rape scene.
But in August it emerged that the BBC had decided to axe it from the new series opting instead for the consensual sex scene.
