Petitions to Vote on Student Activity Fee Changes
After a symbolic vote at the Doctoral Students’ Council December plenary to discontinue our contribution to the Wellness Center, we propose the following changes to the Student Activity Fees paid by all students at the Graduate Center.

Please list your NAME, EMAIL and BANNER ID in the spaces provided to support these petitions.

The change described in Petition 1 would recognize that fully funding the Wellness Center should be the responsibility of the Graduate Center as an institution and not the responsibility of already burdened student-workers.

The change described in Petition 2 would allow the DSC to continue to provide services to students, despite the decreasing enrollment at the Grad Center. And together, if these changes are approved on the April elections ballot, students would be getting more services from the DSC while paying fewer fees.

Petition 1: Eliminate $12 per student per semester allocated for health care from the Student Activity Fee
By listing my NAME, EMAIL and BANNER ID in the space provided, I agree that a referendum should be called, during the Spring 2016 semester, to eliminate the $12 per student per semester from the Student Activity Fee that is currently earmarked for health care (provided by the Wellness Center's part-time Nurse Practitioner). I understand that this does not mean that the activity fee will be decreased, only that it will be brought to a vote of the general student population.
Petition 2: Increase Student Activity Fee by $6 per student per semester
By listing my NAME, EMAIL and BANNER ID in the space provided, I agree that a referendum should be called, during the Spring 2016 semester, to increase by $6 per student per semester the Student Activity Fee of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. I understand that this does not mean that the activity fee will be increased, only that it will be brought to a vote of the general student population.
