Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet’s last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered.
Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.
Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.

X-Com 2 MacBook Pro 13” Early 2015
I have to say, having first played X-Com on iOS, this game has come forward miles! I think the production value is incredible and it does really take your characters to the next level.
Graphically on my machine, I have to have virtually everything on the lowest settings, but it still looks awesome!
The music and sound effects are cinematic, especially with a pair of bassy headphones.
This is a huge game and the file size reflects it. The gameplay is involving with longer loading times on my mac. I would say that even though this isn’t made for my Mac, its probably the best game I have ever played.
I just hope we get some more players, so I can have a game with someone online.
Make sure you also have a mouse, as this could be tricky with a touchpad.
Well worth the asking price… This is one of the best games I have ever played, let alone a Mac title.
Fiendishly Difficult!
In some senses not much has changed between the original game and this one. However, you’ve much more control of squad building and adding various chractersitics (which makes it much more painful when you get one swatted by an alien!) The aliens are much harder to kill than in the first seriesand have lots of nasty tricks up their sleeves. The surrounding buildings are also interactive and I’ve had at least one squad wiped out through falling from a height after a building has been blown up. You are commanding the World resistance and boy, they make it hard for you. I’m playing it on ‘veteran’ level and have not yet managed to last the course. There are a couple of glitches, it takes an eternity after completing a mission to get back to base and a black screen seems to not want to go away and as with the previous version, navigating through different floors in a building is difficult. However, well done the Feral boys and girls. Top notch game but only scoring 4 stars from this reviewer until the glitches are ironed out.
Now working after huge download
It took me three frustrating attempts to download and install the new updated Xcom2 with DLC (should you choose to unlock it), but finally here we are. Initial signs look very good, the only issue with the DLC is that there seems to be even more nagging on the campaign map to complete tasks that you don’t necessarily want to do, but are pretty much forced into addressing. This interrupts the flow of the game even more than previously. DLC itself is excellent though, and besides, can be turned on or off.
Would be five stars but for these minor irritations, but hey, they count too. But this is a solid, must buy title, even more so with the additions.
