SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J.--()--Now that schools, libraries and other organizations are deploying iPads, they need to find purpose-built storage that charges, syncs and protects equipment.

Datamation Systems, the nation’s leading provider of carts, cabinets and security devices, announced today that it is introducing a suite of products designed specifically for the iPad and other tablet devices. Datamation Systems was the first to release an affordable mobile storage solution for these devices.

According to Jerry Raymond, President of Datamation Systems, there will be recharging and sync-and-charge versions, the later using iTunes to control multiple iPads. “Our goal is to create a compact, affordable solution,” he said.

In February 2011, Datamation Systems will release a locking table-top cabinet called the NETSAFE-IPC, which secures and recharges up to 20 iPads (16 in most standard cases) and stores a MacBook as well.

A version that will also sync 16 iPads simultaneously (with or without cases) will be introduced shortly after. The syncing feature combines Datamation Systems’ storage and security expertise with the engineering of Cambrionix, the first USB solution for synchronizing and recharging multiple iPads.

Models handling 32 and 40 iPads in mobile carts are also being developed.

“We combine the Cambrionix USB board with a protected housing, power supply and user-controlled switch that toggles between charge and sync modes,” said Raymond. “Using a MacBook, iPad users can sync with iTunes or recharge multiple iPads, all in the same cabinet.”

Datamation Systems carts and cabinets are used in thousands of schools, libraries, hospitals and offices. They are available in many configurations, including network-ready versions provided with pre-installed switches and Ethernet cabling.

The NETSAFE-IPC and other products will be available from major computer companies or directly from Datamation Systems. Additional information can be found at Datamation’s iPad and EBook security webpage.

Datamation Systems, established in 1963, is the nation’s leading provider of netbook and notebook security carts, cabinets and anti-theft devices that protect notebook and desktop computers, printers, projectors and AV equipment. The company has also developed multi-bay battery chargers to help manage battery use in classrooms and other settings. Visit Datamation Systems’ web site at http://www.pc-security.com.
