JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The man facing charges in the death investigation where a 19-year-old girl was burned alive is back in Mississippi.

Quinton Tellis is charged with capital murder in the death of Jessica Chambers. She died in the hospital after she was found badly burned on the side of a road in Panola County back in December 2014.

It took investigators more than year to name a suspect in the case. Tellis was charged with Jessica’s murder in February 2016.

He was taken into custody in Monroe, Louisiana because of his possible involvement in the death of a Chinese exchange student there.

He was not charged with murder in that case. However, he pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a credit card that belonged to the deceased University of Louisiana at Monroe student.

Tellis was sent back to Mississippi to face the murder charge in Jessica’s case on Thursday.
