his month has been full of achievements. We had a fas-


cinating speaker in Alan Day who came and up- dated us on the massive extensions to the ship yard, it was great to hear about the progress they have made over the past 18 months and refresh- ing to hear that Barrow is booming.

Although it seems a long time ago we had our Tour de Furness presentation evening this month which gave us a great insight in to the new mater- nity unit at FGH and I'm sure you all saw the great coverage the Evening Mail gave us on all the hard work we do. The Tour de Fur- ness enables us to give out large amounts of cash to the people that really need it so keep up the hard work Dave and the team.

duction of our first female member Rachel Ward. This is ground breaking for the club moving for- ward but also a great honour for me as President to welcome her to the team. Good luck Rachel we know you will be an asset.


I would like to end by saying get well soon to Geoff James, Gordon Turner and Roy Worthington who have all recently been ill. Best wishes from all of us and we hope to see you back soon.
