#HealMeToo Festival Workshop: Art Therapy

interactive workshop on:

Saturday 4/13: 12-1 pm

fee: $10

Join The Art Therapy Project, a #HealMeToo Festival Sponsor, for an art-making workshop where participants will use art materials to explore themes relevant to the core mission of the festival, and consider what progress and healing may look like. Led by art therapist Suzanne Deisher, ATR-BC, LCAT, attendees will gain an understanding of what art therapy is by expressing themselves and communicating feelings around the festival and its purpose through the art process. Participants will not be asked or expected to expose or explore details surrounding any personal trauma.

Art Therapist, Suzanne Deisher, ATR-BC, LCAT, is the Program Manager at The Art Therapy Project(TATP), where she runs groups for sexual assault survivors, veterans, and at-risk youth, as well as manages TATP's individual fee for service program. Over the past 6 years she has worked with hundreds of clients, in a multitude of settings including inpatient, outpatient, and in home.  Suzanne’s clientele has included the elderly, at-risk youth, adolescents and adults struggling with depression and anxiety, victims of sexual assault, veterans, patients in palliative and hospice care, and families dealing with loss and bereavement. Her focus is on meeting individuals where they are at, helping to guide and empower them to face challenging feelings and situations to create lasting change.
