The Department of Economics at the University of Memphis invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position, effective fall semester 2017, pending available funding. Responsibilities include effectively teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing a stream of quality research, participating in activities of the Department, and fulfilling professional and university service responsibilities.

We will consider applicants specializing in applied microeconomics, preferably in the fields of public economics and/or urban economics. We are looking for a strong researcher who is also an excellent teacher and is able to teach undergraduate, graduate, and online classes. The Department seeks candidates with a Ph.D. in economics (advanced ABDs may be considered if degree completion is imminent). Effective college teaching experience and scholarly publications are desired, but candidates with strong potential in these areas will be considered.
