Happy Cat Adoption Application
Please complete the application below. Your application will be reviewed within 14 days after we receive it. There is no application fee. Submission of an application does not guarantee adoption, and we hold the right to reject any application for any reason.

If your application is pre-approved and your references check out, our director Chris will contact you to set up a house visit, at which point he will bring the cat/kitten for you to meet. A house visit gives us a chance to check your living conditions, meet your other pets, and assess the well-being of the cat/kitten in your home. House visits are MANDATORY for adoption. If you pass the house visit, we will approve you for the adoption, at which point a $100 non-refundable adoption fee is required for the cat.

** For Renters **
If you rent your apartment or house, we require written permission from your landlord for you to have a cat. Please supply your landlord's name, phone number, and email address in this form.

** About Spading/Neutering + Inoculations **
If you adopt an adult cat from us, it will already be spade/neutered and up to date on shots. KITTENS on the other hand are too young to undergo the surgery/shots. If you adopt a kitten from us, you are required to send us proof of spading/neutering + inoculation within 6 months of the adoption date. Failure to do so will result in us reclaiming the kitten. Send copies of your vet paperwork proving de-sexing + inoculation to PO BOX 688, Coram, NY 111727 (make sure your name is on the paperwork so we can match it with our records.)

** For families with dogs **
We do not place adult cats in households with dogs, because they have a lower rate of successful transition. If you have dogs, we recommend you consider a kitten, sine they adapt more easily to new surroundings and animals.

** Return / Exchange Policy **
If things don’t work out for whatever reason, you may return the cat to our sanctuary at any time. We prefer that the cat come back to us instead of ending up in a kill shelter or on the streets. (If you return your cat to us, you will not be refunded your adoption fee.)  You are welcome to exchange the cat for a different one from our sanctuary. In this case, we will not charge you a second adoption fee.
