This was my first audio book, and I was dead set on not liking any audio book. I'm very glad to say that this book showed me not to say never. The reader was excellent; I loved her voices for each character and the way she was able to give us danger, surprises, and love through her wonderful talent. Great world building in this series of witches and their protectors. The protectors belong to an elite group called Coven Enforcers and their job is to protect good witches wherever they may be from the evil that is constantly trying to overtake the good in the world. Evil that needs the power of the witches so want to turn them to their side or destroy if then can't. They also have magical powers themselves. In this story we have a man who watched his family die and was raised by a man who taught him of the magic he has in himself. During his latest job he meets a witch with whom he falls in love. A witch whose current job seems easy enough but turns out to be jam packed with surprises and full on evil. We have twist and turns that include those in her charge. Between the both of them will they be able to get to the truth? When evil strikes at it's worst, will the hero be able to do his job and destroy the woman he's come to love. You may think I've given you spoilers, but believe me I haven't; there is so much going on in this story that you'll just have to get it to learn how enforcers do their job and how evil does theirs. In the middle of them are the witches for whom the enforcers will give their lives to save. A story full of excitement, surprises and new found love.
