“Let us not seek the Republican answer, or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us now seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us fix our responsibility for the future.” ~John F. Kennedy

Growing up in the D.C. suburbs of Virginia, I could not help but live and breathe politics—whether I wanted to or not. Only a couple of presidents have made me feel good about America, both from opposing parties, as party has never played a big part for me compared to issues. So many candidates feed us broken promises and are all ‘smoke and mirrors.’ Somehow in the past several years, I lost faith in politics and the presidency…until I met Mr. President, a book by Katy Evans that blew me and my anti-political mind away.

I ditched my dislike for politics, opening my heart and mind fully, as I offered all of myself to Mr. President. I gave my heart and soul to this story—as if I had a choice—for it to be stolen as it sank into a world of politics, parading through everything and everywhere DC. Katy Evans wrote a mind-blowing and magical masterpiece in Mr. President, a politically-powered romance that put me on the campaign trail where I fell in love with everything politics.

From the very first page, Mr. President enraptured me as I quickly became entangled in this engaging and electric story. Politics…power…potential love?!? I was ALL IN!!! I wanted to wait…taking my time to soak up every powerful and poignant word of Mr. President. I wanted to rush…tearing through these pages like the adrenaline from this thrilling tale coursed through me. I climbed Mr. President like Mount Everest with a deep hunger, a desire so high that I did not want to come up for air. Mr. President quickly became my addiction. My ache. My adrenaline. MY ALL.

My emotions were amplified—a fusion of hope, heartbreak, and happiness—as hope was on the highest alert. Mr. President rapidly caught fire, heating me up, sending an unexpected rush as this story bled into me. The characters in Mr. President claimed me, captivated me, and catapulted me into their lives—this political whirlwind of an adventure—where I wanted to follow this president-elect on his campaign, living and breathing everything politics. This story sparked to life as magic poured from the pages, casting Mr. President in a glow as powerful as the presidency. Shortly into this intoxicating and inspiring tale, Mr. President already had my vote.

“I really hadn’t realized how much we missed a strong leader, an inspiring leader, until every time I stare at the one I want. He could make such a difference. A man like him could make such a difference.”

The gorgeous dark-haired and dark-eyed Matthew ‘Matt’ Hamilton has been the beautiful red-haired and blue-eyed Charlotte Wells’ crush since she first met him at her home along with his father, the President of the United States, when she was only eleven. While Matt was visiting, Charlotte, daughter of Senator Wells, even jokingly stated she would help the President’s son with his campaign if Matt ever ran for office. Flash forward over ten years later and Charlotte realizes her prediction may just be on its and his way to a presidency.

“He is so gorgeous I bet every woman watching wants him to father all of her babies, put those lips on nobody but her, and use those eyes to look at nobody else…This god. The Prince of America. Has decided to run for president?”

Charlotte has never stopped believing in Matt, her childhood crush and man, who as a boy, inspired her upon just one meeting. When asked to cash in on her promise with a premier spot on Matt’s campaign, Charlotte is shocked but excited to help make Matt’s dream come to life.

“Maybe I can help. I believe in him. I believe he’s better than any of the options they’ve been tossing around on TV.”

Charlotte doesn’t realize that the aura of awe she felt upon meeting Matt both at a young age and at his campaign party is mutual; Matt is smitten with this wonderful woman too.

“You can’t say Charlotte is beautiful, she’s too stunning for that. You just don’t forget a face like hers…Despite being raised as a senator’s daughter, she’s so far been untouched by political scandal…she loves the presidency—and she always has.”

Despite trying to remain professional, the chemistry is electric, on fire, burning bright like a halo of fire surrounding them. Mr. President, or America’s Panty-melting and Passionate Prince, is PURE PERFECTION. His dirty talk sparks heat that lights up the pages, the hot and heated banter between Charlotte and Matt igniting into more.

“I made your nipples hard that day at the campaign kick-off too.”

“Oh wow. Well my nipples weren’t the only things getting hard that day, I’d say.”

“You don’t know the half of it.”

A current crashes through the air, circling them like a cloud of dust, an attraction that’s becoming too powerful to ignore. An attraction deeper than looks; one that delves straight to the soul.

“Matt…looks at me. Just looks at me. So intently and like he can see everything that I am, have ever been, and ever will be.”

Their friendship is raw and real, a friendship catching fire, one where hopefully they won’t get burned. I want this couple, connected by fate, to cross that friendship line. They are perfect together with similar backgrounds and opportunists wanting to make America greater.

“Every thought in my head scatters to nothing when he swoops down and takes my mouth with his. Everything falls away.”

I felt that intense kiss surge from the story straight to me. Oh my wow! Charlotte has no choice to surrender to this passion that permeates between Matt and her, pouring off the pages where I felt this passion too.

“I look forward to having a major hard-on the day you call me Mr. President.”

“I groan when her breath catches, getting one last taste of her and one last feel of her sex clenching around my finger as I drive it inside. I’m playing with fire and I don’t care.”

The kiss is fueled by the flames, creating an inferno that once ignited, may create a forever burn. Chemistry entrenched by fate…always there…unbreakable…unstoppable.

“I breathe to help him win—even if that means I won’t ever, ever feel his arms around me like this…He belongs to America now. He always has. I need to stop this before we get in too deep…to the point of no return.”

Winning will take everything. Winning can’t afford distractions. Winning means keeping your head in the presidency game. Despite a friendship and fireworks fused by fate, the relationship must stop before it really started. Matt needs to focus on the presidency sans scandals, and Charlotte doesn’t want to be the scandal to stop this amazing man from becoming this nation’s leader, a shining star that the country needs to become brighter.

Katy Evans’ Mr. President penetrated my heart, hijacking it…hijacking me. My heart pounded out of my chest. I was a prisoner to these passionate pages that pounded that passion straight to me…through me. Intoxicating and incredible, I could not help but become besotted with this book that blasted big dreams through me. I FELL HARD. I FELL FAST. I FELL IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING MR. PRESIDENT.

Mr. President is so much more than a politically-powered romance; it’s hope for the future of America. Mr. President should be every president’s bible. If every president could be non-partisan and positive like Matt Hamilton, voting would be a seamless. Matt Hamilton, while a fictional president, should be real, a model for every campaign and one that would make America’s forefathers beam with pride.

“For years the public has come to believe every promise made by every candidate has been pure bulls**t. Nobody believes in them anymore. Politics has been totally tainted by propaganda…America wants a change. America wants to grow. America wants to be young and powerful again.”

In a story that’s so much more than its title, Mr. President bled a passion for politics that penetrated the anti-political me, making me believe again. Mr. President is about dreaming big. Mr. President is about positive and passionate politics full of promise, something lost decades ago in our great country. I was rendered breathless at times in this book that’s a breath of fresh air—so full of life—as Mr. President is full of passion, power and possibility.

Katy Evans painted Mr. President to perfection in a book that’s sheer brilliance from beginning to end. How can you not love a gorgeous alpha who is the perfect mix of panty-melting and passionate who happens to be running for president? How can you not admire a beautiful gal from inside-out whose passion for the presidency is bigger than life? How can you not love a book that makes you dare to dream about politics that are pure and positive? MR. PRESIDENT IS EVERYTHING!!!

SO MUCH GOODNESS. SO MUCH PASSION. SO MUCH PERFECTION. I can’t wait for Mr. President to continue captivating and claiming me. I VOTE YES TO MR. PRESIDENT…AGAIN AND AGAIN.

★★★★1/2! Mr. President, book 1 of 2. Intern is pulled into a reckless & forbidden affair with the man of her dreams who is also the people’s candidate for President!

“I’m high from him, from the looks, the stolen touches, the secret lust, watching him at rally after rally, speaking firmly and from the heart to crowds calling out his name.”

Books in White House series should be read in order:
Book 1: Mr. President
Book 2: Commander in Chief

Mr. President (book 1) is a forbidden political romance between an intern and a man seeking the presidency of the United States.

“They called him prince when his father was alive, now he’s about to take the king’s throne.”

From political royalty, attorney and head of a real estate empire Matthew Hamilton, Matt has fought his political calling. Ten years after his father’s assassination he is finally ready. A natural with the people, a pro with the media and a darling with the women he just needs a team to help take his cutting-edge message to the voters.

Non-profit worker and recent college graduate Charlotte Wells grew up amidst Washington politics, though as an only child she was sheltered. She has crushed on Matt since she was eleven years old. Joining the Matt Hamilton for President’s campaign as an intern is the most daring thing she has ever done.

Their attraction and connection cannot be denied. Easy flirting and fun bantering leads to deeper conversation. Heated touches and stolen kisses keep them coming back for more. Secret rendezvous and lapses of judgement throws them into a reckless and forbidden affair right under the nose of the watchful media.

Soon what seemed like a clear-cut plan is clouded by lust and doomed by scandal yet the biggest threat will be to their hearts…

“Matt takes the folder with lazy grace, his gaze still holding mine, his voice still terribly deep and unnerving. “See? I knew there was a reason I brought you on. You make me look good.”

Matthew Hamilton, Matt has my vote! Eight words to describe Matt: Self-assured, determined, commanding, strong, private, compassionate, honorable and captivating.

Eight words to describe Charlotte Wells: Quirky, sweet, smart, lonely, focused, impressionable, stubborn, naïve and loyal.

Mr. President, told from dual POVs, is butterflies-in-your-belly romance about a quirky and awkward girl catching, and keeping, the attention of the most sought after man in the world. It ends with breaking news leading right to book 2, Commander in Chief for the conclusion or their whirlwind saga.

Effortless story-telling! Melt-your-panties hero! Sex, secrets and scandal!

“He smiles. Shifts forward.
‘You’re fascinating,“ he whispers.
I nearly choke on my saliva.”

Look, it's not a secret that I'm Katy Evan's biggest fan. It's just not. I am completely and utterly addicted to her books. I cannot get enough. I crave her stories. And when I get a new one, I can barely contain myself from gobbling it up in one sitting. She's MY unicorn author. The one that I know will deliver a great read EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

That said, when I heard about this book -- Mr President -- I was a teeny bit nervous. Politics is a sticky thing, right? And I was feeling so over this current election climate that I didn't know if I wanted to read a romance based on a man running for Office. But it's Katy Evans, and if anyone can write a home run romance on that kind of story-line, it's her. So I started reading...

And... shit. whoa. WHOA.
WHOAAAAAAAAAA
WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
<<---- Yes. That is a lot of whoa's!!! ::giggles::

Immediately, I was bubbling with all these swoony-gleeful-crazy-I want to howl at the moon-I'm so happy-feelings. I can't even explain it. My stomach started doing these little tango moves for Matt. Talk about TAKING MY BREATH AWAY.
TALK ABOUT HEART STOPPINGLY SEXY, FUN, AND INTOXICATING.

HOLY GOSH!

Mr. President is a book you read when you want to be swept off your feet completely. It's a sexy, forbidden (though, not crazy forbidden, just a little complicated) romance that literally gives you goosebumps all over (I'm even getting them now as I write this review). It makes you feel as though you are being romanced from the top of your head to the very tippy tips of your toes.

It's divine.
Utterly delicious.

Matt is an alpha male all the way, but not a dirty, over the top, alpha. He's smart, sexy, articulate, strong, capable, savvy, masculine, and so fucking drool worthy it makes you ache in the very best ways. His love for his Country, for the people, for his family, for Charlotte, is so swoon worthy. I about exploded with love and lust when he was on the page.

And Charlotte... I cannot say enough about how endearing and sweet she was. This girl is perfect. She's young, energetic, beautiful, pure hearted. A go getter with an innocence that gives you hope and makes you feel happy.

I loved the chemistry between her and Matt. I loved the way they were with each other. And as the plot line unfolded, as Matt brought Charlotte on the campaign trail, as their dynamic grew and blossomed, I became intoxicated. I loved that their relationship felt easy. I loved that it wasn't weighed down by over bearing, heavy handed, angst! I mean, yes, the angst was present throughout the book but it was just so well done that I felt like I could dance through it.

Gosh, delicious, romantic, Mr. President had me flying high. I don't really know what else to say. If you want to read a romance that will steal your breath, that will take you away from every day life, that will hold your attention ENTIRELY, then get this. Go on the campaign trail with Matt as he tries to win the votes of the people. Watch as Charlotte helps him reach his goals. Be enamored as they find what they thought they never would in each other. And feel the romance as you are stolen by just how beautiful, how wonderful, these characters are inside and out.

Overall, I am in love with this book. It's hard for me to pick a favorite Katy Evans read because I've had a love-fest with them all, but if I had to choose, this would be at the top of my list. I HIGHLY recommend it. Utterly amazing. A SOLID 5 stars of Hamilton Perfection.

'Mr. President' was definitely my favorite book by this author. Katy Evans delivered an intriguing political romance that sucked me in from the very first chapter. Katy’s effortless storytelling made me read this first installment in the series in one sitting. As you may know, I’m not a big fan of political romance, mainly because, most of the time, the political aspect is way too developed for my liking and more developed than the romantic aspect. Katy balanced these two aspects here, I’m pretty sure, without even trying, delivering an angsty, enthralling read with some forbidden elements that made this read to be very gripping and well written in my opinion.

“He is the man his father groomed and that a nation has waited for.”

Matthew Hamilton is the darling of the media. He’s successful, handsome, has been voted “The Sexy Man Alive” and “Most Successful Businessman”. The son of an ex US President, Matt knows everything about politics and everything about all the sacrifices you have to make in order to be a good politician. When he decides to run for president, Matt makes Charlotte Wells an offer to join his campaign.

“This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived. She’s what I never knew I wanted and have discovered that I need.

Charlotte knows everything that is to know about political scene in D.C. since her father was a Senator for several years. When she was 11 years old she met Matt Hamilton, back then the President’s son, crushing on him from the start for several years, later admiring him and fallowing his life and career. She’s more than thrilled to join Matt’s campaign staff, truly believing he’s the best candidate.

During the campaign, Matt and Charlotte start spending a lot of time together, they slowly becoming some sort of friends, but their friendship blossoms into something more, something forbidden, yet addictive for both of them. Both Matt and Charlotte know they can’t start a relationship if they want for Matt to win the presidential election, but what happens when they realize they can’t say away from each other and when the attraction becomes too much?

“What we’re doing is risky, but how can it be wrong when it feels so right?”

I really enjoyed this one! Not only this first installment it was well written, but it was thrilling from start to finish and overall, a great blend of sexiness and angst. The pace of the story was fantastic and the plot well developed, interesting and so gripping. As I previously mentioned, the author mixed the romantic and the political aspect pretty damn well. The story wasn’t boring for one minute and it actually kept me a little a at the edge of my seat. Personally, I wouldn’t have minded more angst and/or more drama. Just saying...

“Have you ever loved someone so much it hurt like hell? I hadn't until now."

I loved the fact the story was written in dual POV. Both main characters were vividly portrayed, both of them being well developed, genuine and endearing. Matt was a fantastic character. Larger than life, chiseled, charming and even a little intimidating at times, our hero won me over from the moment he was introduced. I was bewitched by him, completely overwhelmed by his presence from the start. I loved the way he was with Charlotte as the story progressed. His confidence in her and his consideration were fantastic and the way he made her feel protected and cherished at times was simply heart-warming.

“She grounds me. She obsesses me. She fuels me.”

Charlotte was a great heroine. Smart, loyal, determined to prove herself, she was mature for her age in my opinion, which I really enjoyed. I loved how she stood up for herself and how hard-working she was. I wouldn’t have minded for her to be a little bolder, but overall I think she was a great heroine.

I really liked the way these two characters’ relationship started and progressed. These two were fantastic together, their connection palpable and their chemistry amazing as the story unfolded. Katy did a wonderful job with this aspect, which btw was my favorite aspect of the story. I couldn’t get enough of these two! The intensity, the passion, the sexual tension between them were so well done and the stolen moments, the stolen touches between them at times made me root for them from the beginning.

All in all, 'Mr. President' was a fantastic, intriguing, sexy read I recommend if you want to read a forbidden political romance! Can’t wait to read the next installment!

➳Just in time for the elections, I wish I had a sexy candidate such as Matt Hamilton because HOT DAAYUM! He is a sexy CANDY-date I would love to deliciously lick... (get what I did?)

➳I like to see a story structure to a point of perfection. Meaning, there there must be a prologue, a plot, climax, incredible ending, and of course an epilogue. Somehow Katy Evans has exceeded the expectations I was having for this book to the maximum of absolutely being marvelously written. The way she structured her writing, by first providing an insight of what is to come of Matt and Charlotte throughout their forbidden and scandalous journey to take place in politics, was absolutely fantastic to read. Every single detail spilling out of my kindle and the words popping out of the "page" is something that everyone who is a fan of Katy's from her Manwhore series, or simply just a fan of romance, should read and I highly recommend because this is a MUST!

➳Charlotte and Matthew have known each other for the past eleven years, ever since Charlotte was eleven and Matt was in college. Yes there is a huge age difference but to my eyes, I personally did not mind it which is odd because I am actually an age difference picky kind of reader. Somehow how with Matt and Charlotte, there chemistry and attraction becomes something that over takes that factor of their age. Initially meeting as the president's son and as the senator's daughter, Matt and Charlotte were meant to be. Years past though, time took its better and worse holds for both of them, but when the time hit right they both crossed paths once again, never forgetting their first encounter and how approaching they both are for each other in a passionate way. Now as adults, their lust for each other is something that over takes their crush for each other, which to my eyes is refreshing to read their grown up mental factor, changing over time. Charlotte's mind reacts to thinking to the days of when she crushed on him really hard, but in the current days her body is reacting with lust for all of him and his dominant demeanor;

"He's all man.
Sable hair. Espresso eyes. A Greek god's body.
Confidence streaks out of every pore."

➳Even though their chemistry is first soul-y based on their lust for each other, they both begin to open up emotionally- breaking down barriers that they never thought would have broken down. But really, this is all done very secretive because of them not wanting the media to find out about their love interest, and use it as a topic coming against towards Matt and his electoral campaign, as he already has the other candidates coming attacking him for his lack of wife as a First Lady. Even though sneaking out is bad for each other because any second anyone can find out, they simply just cannot let each other go;

"Matt Hamilton. You're so unobtainable you're like a poster, something I can Look at but not touch."

➳Now lets talk about the important topic, shall we? THE SEX! Because HOLY GUACAMOLES WITH SPICY SAUCE! Charlotte and Matt are just... just... MEANT TO BE! There is something so hot about a forbidden love affair (not a cheating affair because neither of them are dating anyone else) that makes their encounters so dangerous, but feel the pleasure of heaven. Making their "meetings to discuss Matt's schedule" more thrilling and exciting!

➳Something that Katy does such an incredible job at pointing out, is the topic of our political problems in our current political debates. She embraces the topics that our country should focus on, and let an independent party candidate take the lead. If only Matt Hamilton were a real candidate and win this year's election, am I right?

**WARNING-SPOILER AHEAD**
➳The second book needs to get here faster, because I need to know what happens to Charlotte and Matt. Does he win the presidency? Does their love affair stop? Can they move on from each other? Will Matt admit his love for Charlotte? Marked as Untitled but part of the White House Duet, Charlotte's and Matt's continued story will be coming soon..

When I heard that the new Katy Evans book was going to be about politics I was sooo excited...

Because politics bores me to death.
Because political campaigns bore me to death.
Because political debates bore me to death.
Because any word starting with poli bores me to death.
(Well, maybe except for hot and sexy police officers.)

Did I mention we had two parliamentary elections in two years?

That's (finally) over now. But don't worry, our TV stations make sure to cover the US presidential elections on a daily basis.

I decided to read this book anyway. It took a lot of courage and good faith to pick up this book. I only did it because this is Katy Evans. Somehow I'm still hoping she’ll produce Remington Tate's clone brother. Me and the majority of the female population. NOPE. No Remy's clone brother here. But Matt is in a league of his own and I really enjoyed this book thanks to Katy Evan’s flawless writing.

I’m not going to lie. Some parts of the book were very repetitive. In fact, the whole storyline can be summed up in five sentences:

1. Matt is the most handsome man (in his country).
2. Matt is adored (by his country).
3. Charlotte is the most beautiful and one of the kindest women (in her country).
4. They want to be together (but that's not good for their country).
5. They shouldn’t be together (for the sake of their country).

But somehow that slow build of anticipation, chemistry and tension, that heaviness and intensity of each look and each stolen moment made this book enciting and enjoyable for me.

I often wonder what makes a book perfect to me. Is it the characters? The plot? The writing? The combination of all of three? Maybe. But then why am I so often disappointed with books that tick all my boxes, books with excellent writing, good plot, great characters and hot sex scenes?

So I've come to the conclusion that apart from the obvious (writing, characters, plot) each book carries a certain atmosphere/tone/mood/author’s voice, that overall feeling which a reader gets while reading it. And that particular feeling is what makes me like or dislike a book.

You can move into an expensive, beautifully decorated house with state-of-the-art designs, appliances and accessories and you can still feel uncomfortable in it because it lacks that feeling of coziness, warmth and comfort because the ambience is just not right.

With that in mind, this book made me feel good and I liked it, and that is the most important reason why I’m rating it 3 stars. Oh, and did I mention I'm really looking forward to the next book?

This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived. She’s what I never knew I wanted and have discovered that I need.

If you’re a fan of Katy Evans and enjoy a good political romance, then you are in for a treat with Mr. President. All I could think about was why couldn’t we have a Matt Hamilton right now what with all the craziness going on with our current presidential election. I could totally get behind a candidate like Matt!! Too bad he only exists within the pages of this book.

Matt Hamilton is the apple of America’s eye. He practically grew up in the White House. His late father was one of the most beloved U.S. Presidents but during his 7th year in office he was assassinated and his murder is still an unsolved mystery. His father had always had high hopes that Matt would run for office but Matt was always opposed to the idea when he was younger. Now at the age of thirty-five, he is running as the youngest candidate, representing the Independent party. Matt has the kind of ideals and vision that past Presidents failed to deliver. Part of his plan is to surround himself with the best people to help him campaign and there's one person in particular that he met eleven years ago when she was just a young girl that he wants on his team.

Charlotte Wells is no stranger to the political scene in D.C. Her father was a Senator and at the age of eleven, she got the chance to meet the President and his son when they came to her house for dinner one night. Young Charlotte was affected by her meeting with Matt Hamilton all those years ago and has harbored a secret crush ever since. She never had any aspirations of pursuing a career in politics and since graduating from college she had been working for a non-profit organization. But when she receives the request to join Matt Hamilton’s campaign staff, she might have been apprehensive about accepting the job but one look from Matt quickly obliterates her fears.

During the campaigning process Matt and Charlotte end up spending a lot of time together and neither can seem to keep their growing attraction under control. I often questioned what the big scandal would be if they were to become romantically involved. They’re both single and Charlotte’s family and personal background are nearly impeccable. If their relationship would be a huge scandal for Matt and could possibly cause him to lose the election, he didn’t seem to be all that concerned about some of his reckless behavior with her. Matt swears that if he is elected that he does not want that life for Charlotte because he saw what it did to his mother, but then in his next breath he claims her as his and that no other man can have her. This double talk drove me a bit bonkers.

Charlotte plays a dangerous game with her heart. She thinks she can handle having a secret affair with Matt and that if he wins the election that she can simply walk away, but as her heart gets more invested she begins to question the choices she's made. And Matt is not at all unaffected by her as well.

The book ends on a cliffy and we are left wondering what the future holds for Matt and Charlotte. I’m looking forward to seeing if love will win in the end. I’m sure that Ms. Evans will not disappoint us.

First off, the cover. Hellllllllo, President Hamilton.

Seriously, do you know what voter turnout would be with THAT on the ballot? Not that voters should elect someone based on their looks. And I wouldn't do that, of course. Psh. Never.

But....I might enjoy seeing him on my TV constantly. For like eight years. I'd even hang a picture of the president in my house. Which I've never done, but I might do it now. If he were the guy. It's only patriotic, right? Hubs would understand?

Anyway, I digress. Beautiful cover. I love it. The suit, the colors, the sleek simplicity... Stunning.

Now the story...

After reading this, my palette has changed a little. We need more of these types of books. Smart, tense, forbidden, hot, and thought-provoking. I love situations where a couple feels as if they have to hide their feelings, because the burn, the looks, the quiet flirtation just keeps getting hotter and hotter. Matt Hamilton is simply incredible, his past loss making him vulnerable, but his heart is true, and his goals admirable. And Charlotte is my favorite type of heroine--sweet with sass in the right places.

I love politics, and Katy made it sexy. I won't give away spoilers, of course, but this book is definitely a game changer. Well done! Very well done.

Now I'm off to see if she sells signed paperbacks, because it's not like I need this cover in my house or anything. And definitely not on my mantle, front and center. ;)

More than 5 Stars!

(I've read this book together with my lovely sis Bea. Click her name to read her wonderful review.)

You can always count on Katy Evans delivering such a novel complete with a perfect mix of angst and steam. I've been a fan of her works since her Manwhore series because of her way of writing that is simply addicting and her Alpha male men that are hot and irresistible.

Apparently Mr. President has rendered me utterly amazed. It was an all-consuming novel, so different compared to her previous works. As what the blurb says, this book tells a story about two characters living in a political world, Matthew "Matt" Hamilton and Chralotte Wells. Matt is the son of an ex US President while Charlotte is the daughter of an ex Senator. They first met when Charlotte was 11 years old and Matt and her father went to her family's house for a visit. She has been crushing on Matt ever since that day and she even promised to support him if he ever runs for presidency in the future. Now after 11 years, they met again and this time, Matt is already a candidate for President and Charlotte is working for his campaign.

"You will not be the reason for me losing. If anything, you'll be the reason for me winning."

What made this book stand out for me was the off-the-charts chemistry between Charlotte and Matt. They simply hit it off! I loved how their relationship was built up from a simple crush to a deep attraction which later on bloomed into sexual tension and frustration and yes-- white-hot love.

"She grounds me. She obsesses me. She fuels me. This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived."

Both characters are also likeable. Matt is such a sweet and passionate person. The way he looks at Charlotte like he's the last woman on earth even when there are tons of people around. Oh MY GOD. And don't even get me started on his irresistible charm that wins millions of people. On the other hand, I adore Charlotte's character. She's a natural. She has a soft heart for the place where she grew up and she's a down to earth person despite the fact that she belongs to a well-endowed family.

What's even great about Charlotte's character is the way she loves Matt in a selfless way. She doesn't set expectations right when they started their secret love affair. She knows what's bound to happen and that their relationship is about to fall when America chooses Matt as the next president. She's not whiny and needy and these qualities made me love her.

"I don't care about more. I don't care that there is no future for us if he wins. I won't deny us both this moment. He said he needs me. And I need him."

As for the ending, well, this was me after that ending...

description

...a hot mess. A steaming pile of mess.

It's not yet a happily-ever-after for Charlotte and Matt but the ending promised all kinds of feels and goodness in the upcoming sequel. And I so need the next installment so bad it hurts!

A real page-turner, this book is no doubt one of the best romance novels I've read this year and possibly one of the most beautiful political romance books ever written. The story was brought out in a passionate and intoxicating way. The angst was overwhelming and the love the characters both share for each other made this book a keeper. Yet another book added to my favorites shelf!

"Love has no place in the White House."

➦So... This was actually pretty refreshing and "different", if you will. In preparation for Commander in Chief (White House, #2) by Katy Evans I have decided to read and review this and boy am I glad I did. This kind of forbidden romance is something I really enjoy! It wasn't the naughty-naughty taboo kind of forbidden love... but. BUT... the circumstances in which these two main characters find themselves certainly make this a pretty angsty read and needless to say I was all torn up over their "predicament".

➦Charlotte Wells is a daughter of a Senator and she has been very well acquainted with the world of politics since childhood. In fact she has even met the President of the United States when she was 11. And the President brought his son with him. Charlotte is immediately fascinated with Matt and she spends following his career years after their initial meeting. Until... they meet again. dun dun dun. See where I'm going with this?

➦Matt Hamilton and Charlotte Wells meet years later when Matt announces that he is going to run for president. He sees her at one of the functions and invites her to be part of his campaign team. She agrees. The rest, as they say, is history.

➦But is Matt prepared to fall in love? If he is going to dedicate himself to the United States there is no time for him to have wife or a family. He knows how demanding his job would be and he refuses to put his loved ones through missing him while he is constantly working.

➦Matt is definitely a very likable and lickable hero. :D I've been on an asshole male/damaged heros rampage lately and it was actually nice to read about a "good guy" for a change.
"He looks steady, which is what the country wants, a little bit rebellious, which is that the country needs, and different, the embodiment of the change we crave."

➦In fact, both of the main characters were so likable that I couldn't help but root for them. The sexual chemistry was there but the whole book was pretty demure as far as sexy times. There was a lot of anticipating "foreplay" with a couple of fade to black scenes. But this book certainly didn't lack in romance and that suited me just fine.

➦This ends with a cliffy and I can't wait to read the second installment. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves forbidden love stories, sweet and likable heros and heroines and super romantic reads with a bit of politics infused to make it quite unique.

" You want to use the White House to change the world, and I’ll support you.” She walks over to me and pulls me into her arms to speak in my ear. “But it changes you before you can change a centimeter of it,"

The fact that this is the only quote worth mentioning y’all know how much I love adding quotes to reviews plus it was his mom talking.. speaks volumes.

To sum up, Charlotte is the daughter of a senator and met the president's son, Matthew, when she was 11. After their first encounter "meet cute" she sent him a letter thanking him for his visit and offering her help if he decided one day to run for the presidency. A decade later, he invited her to join his presidential campaign..

Charlotte, I liked her character for the first couple chapters and thought the story about her having a crush on Matt’ since childhood was cute. But when this turned out as being her constant and only thoughts; the plot-line became boring. It’s like the author painted and attributed her personage only personality trait being half in love with Matthew when the only things she knew about him was that one; he was gorgeous, two; he was tall and handsome, three; he was nice with her when she was a kid. See what I mean?

Matthew, so when he started talking and highlighting how her "nipples got hard" the very next day they met again.. I lost it💀 ew, it was full of not-trust-worthy president vibes idk if this makes sens but how do you trust a man like that to have an important position when he behaves like a full of testosterone kid? and how he emphasized it wasn’t hot, it was cringe, too cringe to say the least. Like who does that with their subordinates? Perverts, that’s who play with their power privilege. I don’t know if I’m looking too much into this but you don’t talk that way with your employees when a)- you need a clean image for your candidacy b)- It’s disgusting when you don’t know the woman AT ALL. c)- It was embarrassing for Charlotte. But if she wasn’t that blinded with his supposed "charms" she would have been offended and the cheery bottom on top was that before she was working at Women Of The Word Offices, should I highlight the contradictory aspects of her character or is it obvious?

Matthew was thirty five year old but when he started whining like a clichéed teenager "I like you but I can’t and shouldn’t like you." I closed the book and decided to stop reading it. He has no charm, no "president charisma" and no brains. He liked Charlotte because she was beautiful, obviously and that was it.

I picked this book because of the politic part of the storyline and near the book’s half it was clearly not well developed and detailed. I think that’s what bothered me the most; the scenes/ inner monologues weren’t at all developed and we jumped from a chapter to the next without it being well exploited and detailed.

Dinaa told me I should learn to DNF when I’m not enjoying a book, it’s hard but here I am🥲

Matthew Hamilton is in the running to be President of the United States of America. Matthew Hamilton’s father was President years prior until he was assassinated. Now Matt made the choice to run for Presidency to help make America great again and finish what his father started. He in an Independent Candidate and refuses to join as a Republican or Democrat. He wants to do win and not promise anyone things he cannot guarantee. The only promises he makes are to the American people to make things right again. What happens when a young girl writes a note to college aged Matt Hamilton promising her support if he ever ran? Charlotte is who Matt wants working on his campaign all these years later just as she promised. Will Charlotte be able to help Matt without wanting more? Who wouldn’t want more when it comes to the sexy, irresistible and charming Matthew Hamilton?

“I truly didn’t see you. For the record, I’m not some crazed fangirl. This isn’t an attempt to get your attention, not at all.”

“And yet you most definitely have it.”

Ms. Evans brings us a new and completely different type of story. Mr. President isn’t about a player or a fighter, it’s about a charming, intelligent and brilliant man working hard to win an election. There’s a whole lot of sexual tension to keep you flipping the pages. If you are like me and hate politics, this is a story you will enjoy especially with how intense politics are currently all around us. This was a sweet journey of a man you fall in love with that wants to become the new Mr. President. What Matthew doesn’t realize is that if he wins the election, he won’t have the normal life with a family of his own. It’s all about the decisions that will forever change his future completely. Now I’m chomping at the bit because I can’t wait to read Commander in Chief, I only hope there is more romance in that and that somehow Mr. President will finally have everything he’s ever wished for. 4.5 swoony and sexy stars!

Katy Evans, you may not realize this, but you manage you write one of the best books of 2016. It is official and I can't seem to get my enthusiasm under control when regarding this story. It was fabulous/breathtaking/explosive/intense/heart whelming. And to believe that for a moment I was not so excited of reading this book, because I believe that maybe it won't feel real. God!! Stupid, stupid me. I loved every second of this book and I am literally dying to read the sequel.

The story is unique and powerful, placed in a circle when politics and power were everything.
Our heroine, Charlotte, meets Matt when she was 11. Matt came with his parents to a diner organized by her family, and immediately he managed to impress her with his attitude and confidence. He was the son of then President of the United States and everything about him was so promising and tempting. A connection was build there and even though Charlotte never saw Matt again for almost 11 years after that, she couldn't forget him. She even wrote him a letter after their only meeting, telling him that if he would run for President, she would like to be in his campaign team.

Present day, Matt is running for president of the United States and meets Charlotte at a dinner party. Now it is time for Matt to be impressed by Charlotte and the fine way she transformed into a woman. He didn't forget about her proposal 11 years ago and was very keen to make her part of his team. After she said "Yes", you know what they say: the rest is history.

The relationship between Matt and Charlotte was something more than intense. I don't know how the writer manages to create this kind of bond, but I was so absorbed into their relationship and everything felt so real, you literally can't put the book away. It became an addiction and I just can't help yourself in reading some more pages. The scenes between them were passionate, intense and genuine and I couldn't see any flaws in them. They were just perfect.

The thing that I enjoyed most was how down to Earth and real the characters were. Here is wasn't the issue with bad backgrounds in love, they were normal people but under extraordinary circumstances, that had to take a decision not for them, but for everybody else. Embarking in a relationship was kind of complicated for our heroes, because they believe if Matt was to win the elections, being a lover/husband would not be possible. He lived it himself, because his father had that burden to carry upon his shoulders and that was not the life he wanted. He fought hard to supress his feeling for Charlotte, but that tension once built and exploded made this love story epic.

Charlotte was aware of her crush on Matt, but even though, she agreed to stay by his side during the campaign. She was more realistic than he was, more aware of the damaged their relationship might inflict upon his chances of wining, but as it happened to him, the love she felt was stronger and eventually she accepted how in love she was with Matt and just let it go.

I enjoyed the connection between the characters and the fact that is was balanced: on a physical and emotional one. It was not all attraction, but it was understanding and feeling. It was a complete package and they were so good together my heart was crying for them when having to take a decision and leave all they felt aside.

Matt's sense of duty was often put to a test, and after finishing this book and seeing how it ended, I am dying to read the second one. From my point of view, love and duty can be blended if they are balanced in an responsible way. I just hope Matt will realise that he can't be the next president without having someone by his side to love and protect him. This job is not made in a single formula and I just wish Katy will agree with us and give them the happy ending they truly deserve.

The book was truly amazing and for a while I haven't read something this intense and overwhelming. January please come soon!!!

5 stars!!

Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent. Son of a former president whose life was ended all too soon by an assassin's bullet. Matt knows exactly what kind of sacrifices need to be made in order for him to fulfill his father's legacy.

Charlotte Wells knows all about politics, daughter of a Senator she meets the handsome Matthew Hamilton when she is 11 years old when he accompanies his presidential father to her house for a dinner.

description
"All I’m thinking is what I’m feeling. How hard my heart is beating. How my breath is coming in faster intervals. How my skin is warm and tingling; how my whole body seems to be holding its breath in sweet anticipation for Matthew to move again, to touch me again, to kiss another part of me."
description

Eleven years later has Mattew extending Charlotte an offer to join his campaign based on her young girl promise. Determined to make a difference, but unable to fight the attraction that pulls them ever closer together, they embark on a risky affair that could ruin Matt's chances of being Commander In Chief and leave both their hearts in pieces.

I REALLY enjoyed this one a lot. I was unaware that this ended in a cliffhanger, so do be aware of that going in. It was well written. The plot flowed nicely. I'm not a huge lover of politics, but I found that the author wrote it in such a way that I wasn't bored or felt the need to skim.

description

Both characters were likable. There was AMAZING sexual chemistry between these two (IMO). We don't get to any real sexytimes until halfway through, but the buildup was nicely done. These were some interesting side characters as well. Though they are not overly delved into, they offer a nice backdrop for the H/h's story.

Overall just a really well written read that made me shed a few tears at the end, and I can't wait to see what is in store for Matt and Charlotte in their next book. Two thumbs up from yours truly.

Mr. President is the first book in the White House Series. This Contemporary romance is a forbidden romance lovers delight full of passion, politics, and sizzling hot steam!

description
"A meaningful job and a guy that I loved, those were things I wanted."
Charlotte, the daughter of a senator, is no stranger to the ways of politics and living in the hustle and bustle of Washington D.C.! Her parents have spent years grooming her to marry into politics and become a productive woman of society. Charlie has always had bigger plans for herself. When she was only 11, she met the First Family. Matt, the President's Son, became her first crush and a deal was made between the two that if he ever ran for President, she would help him win the election. Years later, Charlie is all grown up and Matt's day on the campaign trail has arrived. When Charlotte and Matt meet once again, Matt is instantly taken with her. Charlie's crush turns into a full blown infatuation and the two begin a forbidden dance.
"Why didn't I leap?"
description
"If you can't have him in your bed or fathering your children, at least let him be our chief in command."
Matt wants nothing more than to become the next President of the United States. Taking the stand as an Independent, the cards are stacked against him. Although he is drawn to Charlotte and is happy to have her by his side, he knows that he can never give her what she needs. He has his demons in his past, and that pain serves as a constant reminder for him to stay focused on the job and not give himself to love. He is driven to stay the course and win the election. Although, with Charlie by his side on the campaign trail, he is happy for the distraction she provides. A sensually charged romance begins and remaining hidden from the prying eyes of the press, their families, and friends become critical for the success of the race! The stakes are high for Matt and Charlie. Will it be the Presidency or a life together in love?
"I swore I'd never be a politician's girl..."
description
"Don't give these lips to just anyone. They're too pretty. And too rare. And they're mine."
Told in dual POV, Mr. President had me on pins and needles the entire read. I was so anxious for the main characters to be together and forget about the rigors of the world. And yet, the passion Matt encompasses for his country and the race for the White House serves as a constant reminder of his internal turmoil and deepened my sadness for them both. The struggle is real!!!! The story arc is well developed, and the pacing is intense as every second of the campaign is documented. I savored the stolen moments Matt and Charlie shared together, and I cringed when I read that the press was near and on the scene. I felt every moment of tenderness Matt offered Charlie even though it felt like he could only give her part of himself. Charlie remains strong and opens herself completely to him. Even with the threat of heartbreak, she is committed to him completely! The secondary characters play a critical role in the plot as they all have their personal gains and losses weighing on the line. With politics, romance, and smoking hot sex, this read will keep the blood pumping the entire read.
"He doesn't want a wife. Not someone long term. Not at the White House."
description

Overall, I highly recommend this read if you are a fan of the forbidden romance genre. Although Matt and Charlie are both consensual adults, Matt is focused on winning the election, and Charlotte is there to help make it happen. As the balance shifts between a life with Charlotte and life as Commander and Chief, where will the pendulum swing? Only Ms. Evans knows the answer to that!!!! Until then, my Kindle will be waiting!

Charlotte grew up in Washington politics - her dad was a senator. But she never really wanted to join the family business. She always wanted to do something to help people. Just done with college now, she joined her mom's social work / Women's help charity. But somehow, a promise she made eleven years ago, when she was just 11 years old, now comes back to haunt her, and she has to decide what she wants to do with her life.

At a family dinner back then she promised the son of the President of the United States that, should he ever run for president too, she will work on his campaign team.

And here she is now. About to start working for the man who she's had a crush on since she was little!
She hasn't seen Matthew Hamilton since his dad's funeral almost eight years before. But he still has the same effect on her. She's captivated by this beautiful man.

description

And Matt is equally intrigued buy this beautiful girl. She's over a decade younger than him, but still, he wants her close to him.

But this young love is facing lots of problems before they can even think about a Happily Ever After....Because the most famous slogan of the Hamilton campaign is that Matt is a single guy - his wife's name is AMERICA! And should he win, it won't be with Charlotte at his side.

description

So they only have this one year of campaigning to be together - but even now they have to do it very stealthily, they can't be seen together....

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO CHARLOTTE & MATT????
iS THERE A CHANCE FOR A HEA??
READ IT TO FIND OUT ☺☺☺

... there might be a tiny little Cliffy - not too bad though! ☺
Book #2 - Commander in Chief - will be out very soon!

I WAS SOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO READING THIS BOOK!
AND I LOVED IT!!!

With all the real-life election stuff/mess going on, we were extremely in need of an amazing future president - even if he's only a fictional one! ☺

I just loved Matt & Charlotte & the story!
What's not to love about this JFK jr. character? I'm still teary when I think about the fact that the real American Prince is not alive anymore.

But Matt is. And it's basically the same thing. His dad was one of the most beloved Presidents, until he wasn't anymore.
And even though Matt never wanted this, he thinks he owes it to his dad and his country to be the one to bring The Change.

It's the american version of a royal cinderella thing.
I think I started crying for the first time in the first chapter!
It's all so hopeful but yet totally hopeless.
They can't be together, because Matt has built up his whole campaign on being a single man whose only job it is to help America.
But he's also horribly falling for this girl.

description

If he had any other job in the world this wouldn't be a problem.
Grrrr.... we just want to fast-forward and see if and how they will get their Happy End.
But it's all so scary because we just know that it won't be easy. Or rather completely impossible.
You just can't put the book down! It's this constant buzz of excitement and sexiness and love. We so want him to win for his country. But of course we want him to lose for Charlotte.

Reading the book I was reminded of the TV series SCANDAL a lot. Without all the lawyer and criminal part. But the Olivia and Fitz part. Only no one is cheating on anyone - well Matt is kind of cheating on his wife America! ☺
Ugh, can someone please turn this book into a TV show too?!!! I would SO watch it every week!

Were there some tiny things I didn't like?
Hm, not really. Maybe the romance part - or rather the sex part - starts pretty late into the book. Not late-late. But around the middle. But once they get started it seems like they're not about to stop. It's a bit much. I know, they have to cram in all the lovemaking they can, before he might become President, but still, it was a bit too much. Nothing is basically happening. They travel all over the country and have secret sexy times and we're constantly afraid they'll be caught by the paparazzi! BUT of course we love every single second of the story, so it didn't really bother me much. But it could've/should've been a bit different. ☺

MR. PRESIDENT was an amazingly beautiful & exciting & sexy American Cinderella love story!
Run to your nearest amazon to find out who will be the next President & if Charlotte & Matt will get their Happily Ever After!

Re read August 2022
Bumping it down a star for this Re Read because, my reading tastes have been changing drastically. It’s crazy how things that I use to love in romance books have me rolling my eyes now. Anyway I still enjoyed it plenty and who knows maybe I’ll love it again in the foreseeable future.

Reviewed on January 2017
“Mr. President" was everything I love and have come to expect from KE book. Sexy, sweet, engaging, the build up she creates with the MC's is so good. Of course my favorite part being a forbidden romance that just added more intensity to the story. This was a new story line for me, a president candidate (Matt) having a love affair with an intern (Charlotte) and I couldn't have been happier with it.

description

In this book one, we see how both Matt/Charlotte first meet when they're are younger and how their connection starts.
Years later Matt, recruits Charlotte, as part of his presidency campaign. I like I said before the sexual build up between this two was so dam sexy, when they finally come together it's even better. Secret meetings, stolen kisses and touches, the risk of being caught it was all so thrilling. But more than that was seeing how their feeling for each other were growing knowing they couldn't be together or could they?!

I'm so happy I waited for book two to be live I don't think I could of handle the wait. That ending!!!! Book 2 here I come.....❤

A: Anticipation
B: Breathless
C: Captivated
D: Dominated
E: Evocative
F: Feverish

Just to name a few!

Mr. President is a forbidden romance between “America’s playboy and America’s sweetheart.” . 11 years earlier, it all began with a crush and a letter! Matt Hamilton has put himself in the race for President and is holding Charlotte to her word to join his campaign. How do you keep your feelings aside for someone; even knowing it could lead to scandal and heartbreak?

“So what are we going to do about it?” he asks softly. “Nothing,” I say. He laughs, and drags a hand over his face and tsks, shaking his head. “Nothing’s just not in my vocabulary. Is it risky? Yes. Is it selfish on my part? Maybe. But I’m not just going to do nothing.”

Omg! Their chemistry and sexual tension was off the charts! Seriously, at one point I thought I saw some steam coming off my phone!!! *fans self*

“I may be the next President of the United States! I’ll be damned if I don’t have what I want,” he growls, “and I want you. I not only want you, I need you. No matter what I’m doing, I’m thinking of you. No matter who I’m with, I would rather they be you . . .”

The connection that Katy Evans weaves in this story between the readers and characters is insane! I'm blown away by the amount of research you can tell was put into this story! The views and changes that Matt Hamilton wants to make in this country makes me question if Katy Evans should be running for President! Lol! She flawlessly balances out the romance and political details of the story, keeping you entertained!

"This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived."

 photo 2594F37A-4234-40D5-9FA3-C27B0F614879_zps6up2xohq.gif

"This isn’t a childish crush anymore. I love him. I love Matt with my whole being. I breathe him, breathe for him. I breathe to help him win—even if that means I won’t ever, ever feel his arms around me like this again."

“You don’t get to quit me,” he says, those dark of his eyes intensifying. “You don’t get to walk away from me. Next time you do, all you’ll have to do is look behind you to find me at your heels.”

Review at Of Pens and Pages

Matthew Hamilton was born to be the next president of one of the most powerful countries in the world. His father, the late President Hamilton, knew it, the world knew it, but Matt fought hard against it when he was younger.

Now at thirty-five––the youngest ever candidate––Matt has fully embraced his fate and is determined to continue his father's legacy by running for presidency as an independent candidate. With a team of young but competent and accomplished aides, Matt is on a tight race but he's so close to winning it.

Part of his campaign team is Charlotte Wells, the daughter of Senator Wells, a good friend of the late President Hamilton. Like Matt, Charlotte was born into a political family, and she's aware of the repercussions of being in one. Charlotte has had a crush on Matt since the moment she first met him when she was eleven.

Told in alternating POVs, we see the budding relationship between the two and the realization that what they have will only end in heartbreak. Matt knows when he becomes president, the country will be his priority. He's not willing to put Charlotte into the same situation his father put him and his mother when he was president.

I'm running for the most powerful office in the land. Ironic that I can't promise something as simple as my love to her."

But they're not willing to give up. They're drunk on each other, and they can't resist the temptation, even at the risk of scandal. Charlotte is more cautious of the two, but in the end, she still succumbs to the temptation that is Matthew Hamilton.

This is my first Katy Evans book, so I didn't know what to expect. It was pleasantly surprising to find out that this book had a bit of a slow burn to it, as the steam didn't happen until somewhere in the middle. I loved the angst, too! I admit I got a bit teary-eyed as I got closer to the ending.

Have you ever loved someone so much it hurt like hell? I hadn't until now."

Matt is an alpha––obviously, since he's freaking running for President of the US––but he's not the extremely domineering alpha I dislike. He's kind, cares so much about his mother, passionate about his service to the country and his dream to continue his father's legacy, and he cares a lot about Charlotte. I adore this man!

I'm not too sure how I feel about Charlotte. There were times when she's assertive, but there were times when she came out too perfect. I don't know. Maybe that's just me. I mean, most times I liked her, but there were a few instances that felt too much for me.

But I loved the chemistry between the two! I can't resist a little forbidden romance, but it was especially adorable that Charlotte's had a crush on Matt since she was a kid. She even wrote him a letter that she'll support him on his campaign one day.

Politics takes a back seat in this story, with the book focused more on Matt and Charlotte, but there's a glimpse of what it's like to be a part of a political campaign team. I've never really read any political romance books apart from Prime Minister by, so it was quite entertaining to read more about what goes on behind the scenes.

The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger. And at the perfect time, too. It was as I was finally fully invested in their love story. Haha. Now I'm going to have to wait for the sequel, but I can't wait to read about what happens next to Charlotte and Matt!

5 'Sexiest President' Stars!

It's been quite a while since my last Katy Evans read but holy mother of God, this woman knows how to write! I AM OBSESSED. I've been waiting impatiently to meet Matt Hamilton since this book came out. I decided to wait to have both of them since I knew this one ended on a cliffhanger. Katy, you rocked my fucking world, woman!

Mr. President is the first installment in Katy's White House duet and she presents who might be the sexiest, most wonderful President ever: Matt Hamilton. I had crazy high expectations for this and I am glad to say I am completely satisfied with the result! This taboo love story clicked all my boxes: Matt and Charlotte are absolutely perfect for each other.

Every word he says is like an indecent proposal.

What we’re doing together transcends me, transcends even him.

I love me some forbidden and scandalous love stories! Matt and Charlotte met when they were younger and she hasn't been able to forget about him. Imagine when they cross paths again, now Matt is running for President and he wants her on his campaign team. Sparks start flying since the very first moment they lay eyes on each other. In my opinion, Mr President has one of the couples with the hottest chemistry ever!

What we’re doing is risky, but how can it be wrong when it feels so right?

“Don’t give these lips to just anyone. They’re too pretty. And too rare. And they’re mine.”

The forbidden attraction, the slow burn, the scandal love affair, the incredibly hot sex. Everything was perfect! Matt, Matt, Matt.. you sexy fucker! He is SO dirty. I loved it! The sexual tension between these two was freaking INTENSE. As I said, their connection is out-of-this-world amazing and not only between the sheets (or other places! lol). They start falling in love and it gets even better.

She grounds me.
She obsesses me.
She fuels me.
This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived.

When feelings get involved, everything intensifies to maximum levels. This forbidden love affair is exactly what it says: FORBIDDEN. But, Matt and Charlotte are incapable of stopping what they feel for each other. I cried my eyeballs out towards the ending because I knew what would happen: Matt is elected president and they have to stop their scandalous affair. Of course, this ended on a cliffhanger so I am starting Commander in Chief right now!

“We’re a perfect couple, in the most imperfect situation.”

Therefore, my rating for Mr. President is 5 STARS because I absolutely adored every word in this book. Thank you Katy Evans for creating this marvelous couple, thank you for the gift of Matt Hamilton! lol He is quite the gift, if you know what I mean ;) I can't wait for more! So, guys, if you haven't read this, do it. Do it like NOW. You will not regret it!

Ahhh man!! I read reviews, lots of reviews. And I'll admit, I read a few spoilers but dang it, nothing prepares you to how you feel when you fall for a couple in a book and just want it to work. You want it to end beautifully and happily. My heart is broken for Charlotte. Although she knew what she was getting into, I'm still heartbroken for her.

I loved Matthew as much as the country did in this book.

He's handsome, he's whole, and he fell just as hard as Charlotte did.

Charlotte is one of those individuals that gives it her all, all 110% of everything she is.

I absolutely can not wait. Another. Second. To continue this series. Got to go read on!!!

Hello, Mr. President. OMG. This book. I loved it! It was everything I was looking for and didn’t even know it. Truthfully, I am just a sucker for Katy Evans' books so naturally, I wanted to read this one, but to discover it’s a political romance with forbidden love, be still my heart! Safe to say I was pleasantly surprised with going in blind!

Matthew Hamilton is the son of a former President. He is America’s bad boy. He is the sexiest man alive. He is the man every woman in America wants and the man every man wants to be. He is also the running for President of the United States of America.

When Charlotte Wells was eleven she had the chance to meet President Hamilton and his son Matthew when they visited her senator father. Now it’s over a decade later and she is an adult, working in a career that she truly makes a difference in. Born into political royalty herself she has always known politics but never wanted a front row seat to that life.

When Charlotte meets Matthew Hamilton again, at a gala to celebrate his run for President she is immediately reminded of her crush on the young boy who told her he would never run for office. When she is asked to work on his campaign she reluctantly agrees, because she truly believes in the Hamiltons and what they can do for this country.

Matt and Charlotte have a chemistry that’s a given, but they are both dedicated to his campaign. They both know his run is more important than a fling, but the more time they spend together the harder it is for them to deny their attraction. The more time they spend together their feelings move from physical to respect and admiration.

I love political romances, they just excite me! I especially loved the forbidden elements of this story, because yes there was sneaky around and plenty of angst. However, what I really loved was seeing how their feelings turned into more. I love an epic love and this book has the potential to be an epic love because these two are absolutely willing to sacrifice their own feelings for the other. I think this sequel could absolutely make their story one of my favorite love stories.

If you are a fan of forbidden love, epic love, angst, slow build, over the top chemistry, then yes you must read this book!

Side Note this book is set in a politic arena but does support any particular party. It’s just an epic love story.

Provocative, Stimulating and Intriguing, Mr. President will have you engrossed in the story of two people trying to find the balance of having it all surrounded by the cut throat world of politics. This addictive read will have you glued to your kindles.

Katy Evans wrote a story with the perfect blend of humor, passion and drama. Her writing just flowed had me invested from the moment I began to read. Matt Hamilton is a man running for the highest position anyone in the country can achieve all the while trying to balance having a personal life with a member of his staff. A woman who at the tender age of 11 had pledged to be by his side should he ever run.

Two people brought together in their mutual love of serving their country, found that love is not easy and even more difficult when it is a determinant in Washington.

This smart read will take the reader alongside Matt and Charlotte as they reconnect as adults, go on the campaign trail together and brings to light the inner battle of one man faces as he tries to win the Presidency while fighting his forbidden attraction and the woman who tries to dim the fires of passion that burns so brightly between them.

Will Charlotte sacrifice the love she feels for a man destined to be the Head of a Nation or will that choice be taken out of her hands. The inner struggle they faced along with all the intricacies of Washington was so fascinating to read and I can't express how much I loved this read and characters.

Matt Hamilton .. he has my vote and I am sure the vote of millions.

Will one man loose the his chance at the oval office or the love of his life? Read and find out !

5 Mr. President Stars

I love Katy Evans. She writes fantastic super alpha male dramatic reads that ALWAYS puts a smile on my face. I’ve read all of her books and I will continue to do so.

I love a political book and Mr. President comes out at a PERFECT time (during the presidential election for you non-Americans). The thing that I really enjoyed about this book is that it wasn’t typical. I never knew what was going to happen and I found that really fresh. I gobbled this baby up and I read it in one sitting, but that’s pretty usual for me when it comes to anything written by Katy Evans.

What makes this book cute is that Charlotte and Matt knew each other years ago. There is also about a 13-14 year age gap, which I liked. What can I say, I love older man. When Charlotte was 11 she met Matt and had a mega crush on him. She never thought in a million years that a decade later, she would be seeing him again, as Matt running for president.

“Matt is going to be the end of me. Maybe the end of my career too. And I should probably take that into serious consideration before I do something reckless. I don’t.”

“He’s not the guy you can have your happy life with; he’s the guy women throw themselves at, he’s the guy who wants more than what you can give and he will always restlessly pursue it.”

“This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best … president that ever lived.”

To me, what makes this book different from other Katy Evan’s book is that she wrote it a little different. Matt wasn’t an over the top male, yes he is dominate, confident and very suave, but he’s very level headed and just an all-around likable Hero. Also, the angst is mild, but the tension is there to keep you gripping the pages. I also liked that the Hero pursed the Heroine.

As Charlotte works on Matt’s team, you can see how serious she is towards her job and I loved that. She wants Matt to be the president and doesn’t want to be in his way. Matt’s campaign is all focused on him being single and devoted all of his time to America. Hence why Matt can’t be with anyone. Hence the tension between Charlotte and Matt.

I really liked the dynamic between Matt and Charlotte because they both want the same thing, they both want each other, but they also both want Matt to be present. They play this yummy line of trying to have a sort of relationship and not creating a scandal.

I couldn’t get enough of this story and I enjoyed it from the first page. If you love Katy Evans or want to read a political book, then this one is for you.

Charlotte Wells grew up in Washington D.C. as the daughter of a senator. Her life was always surrounded by politics. She went to Georgetown & now is 22 & works in social services with her mother at an organization called Women of the World.

When Charlotte was 11 the President of the United States & his son came & had dinner with her family. The Hamilton's have always been American royalty & they made quite the impression on a young Charlotte, especially the son Matthew. She developed her first crush & to this day has never forgotten him.

Matthew Hamilton grew up in the White House & can't remember a time he wasn't in the public eye. Now 35, he's announcing he's officially running for President. He wants change & is stepping up as the first truly strong independent candidate in U.S. history. He's also the youngest, but is widely respected and the son of one of the most well-loved presidents of our time. He wants to fix the economy and do great things, and make a difference.

 photo 2BE46674-7013-4E25-B8B5-A7D35330B423_zpsizhdwfdf.jpg

Charlotte and her mother decide to show their support and attend Matt's campaign kick off party. Charlotte hasn't seen Matt in about nine years, but he's never left her mind. He's even more gorgeous than she remembered, but now he's all man & oozes charisma & confidence. He's genuine & everyone seems to love him.

Matt has never forgotten Charlotte either. When he sees her, he just wants to be closer to her. He still remembers the girl who told him if he ever decided to run for president he would have her vote. He invites Charlotte to join his team & help out with his campaign. They begin working together & spend a lot of time with one another. Things turn romantic between them & suddenly they can't get enough of each other. They only get stolen moments in secret, but both will take whatever they can get. They are addicted to one another & strong feelings are developing.

-Charlotte is beautiful.

-You just don't forget a face like hers.

-I not only want you, I need you.

-Nothing has ever felt as exciting to me as this man.

-The harder I try to hide the way I feel about him, the harder it hits me.

 photo 0631EA46-69EA-428F-9263-58455DA1F887_zps9rhgzemg.jpg

Charlotte wanted to keep things professional with Matt, but she couldn't help falling for him. He's her boss, her candidate & now the man she's hopelessly in love with. She knew what they shared always had an end date & could only be temporary. That if he wins the presidency she will have to give him up. She loves him, but she also loves her country & the presidency. She doesn't want what they have to get out & cause a scandal or destroy his image. She's so torn. She wants him to win, but she also wants to keep him. The only man she's ever really wanted belongs to America & is unobtainable. Loved this book so much & cant wait for the next book in this series to find out what happens.
