2016-17 Schedule
The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team will look for its 11th title as it hosts the NE10 Conference Championships from Feb. 16-19 at the Hutchinson Natatorium.
A FORMIDABLE PRESENCE
Southern Connecticut swimmers and divers currently hold 52 out of 100 top-five marks in NE10 Championship history all-time.
A LOT OF BLUE AND WHITE AT THE TOP
The Owls also hold 15 out of the 20 active NE10 conference records.
QUARTET AMONG ACTIVE NE10 RECORD HOLDERS
The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team currently has four active swimmers that hold NE10 records. Katherine Crochet holds individual records in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.57 and the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.19. Crochet,

Katherine Krajcik and
Emily Wolfe hold the records in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.42 and the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:01.24.
DOMINATING THE NE10 CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
The Owls have won 10 NE10 championships in the previous 13 years and have finished in the top three of every single competition.

The Owls are returning six NE-10 champions this year with a combined 16 NE-10 titles achieved last season -

LEIREY NAMED NE10 SWIMMER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman
Erin Leirey was selected as the NE10 Rookie and Swimmer of the Week for her performance at the UConn Husky Invitational. Leirey registered a pair of top-four finishes at the competition. She placed fourth in the 100 IM (1:03.56) and the 50 breaststroke (33.75).

Freshman
Erin Leirey registered a pair of top-four finishes as the Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team competed at the University of Connecticut Husky Invitational.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING CAPTURES CSCAA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAM LAURELS
The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving has been recognized with Scholar All-America Team honors by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. The Scholar All-America Team honors those institutions that have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the fall semester. The Owls finished with a team GPA of 3.07.
NE10 HONORS FOUR OWLS
Four members of the Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team received honors from the NE10 for their performances against UConn. Senior Katherine Crochet earned a spot on the NE10 weekly honor roll and freshman
Megan Garner received the Rookie of the Week award. That pair along with
Sydney Fromkin and
Emily Wolfe combined for Relay of the Week laurels.

The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team fell to UConn on Jan. 20, 159-119.

A BUSY WEEK FOR THE OWLS
SCSU took part in three competitions between Jan 10-14. The owls opened with a loss at Marist, but rebounded to defeat St. Rose and LeMoyne.
FIVE OWLS HONORED: CROCHET NAMED NE10 SWIMMER OF WEEK

Megan Garner were recognized by the NE10 for their individual efforts in weekend meets against St. Rose and LeMoyne on Jan 13-14.
- In addition, the 200 freestyle relay group of Garner, Crochet, Katherine Krajcik and
Aubrey Bailey was named the Relay of the Week. The quartet set a new Le Moyne pool record and claimed first place with a time of 1:39.87. Their new record was almost a second and a half better of the previous mark of 1:41.3.
- Crochet was named the league's Women's Swimmer of the Week, while Garner and Williams were both named to the weekly honor roll.

A LOOK BACK AT THE SEASON OPENER
The Owls finished third in the season opener tri-meet against West Chester and Shippensburg. Senior
Katherine Crochet finished in third place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.37 and the 100 freestyle in 55.61. Junior
Sydney Fromkin placed third in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 19:18.99. As a team, the Owls recorded a fourth place finish in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:43.52, the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:56.69 and the 800 freestyle relay in 8:32.11.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR
The Owls posted their 13
th straight top-three finish at the Northeast-10 Championships with a second place showing. The Owls also finished fourth at the Metropolitan Championships and had two student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

KRAJCIK EARNS SECOND NE-10 ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM HONOR
For the second year in a row,
Katherine Krajcik was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team for her work in the pool and in the classroom last year.
CROCHET EXCELS IN AND OUT OF THE POOL
Katherine Crochet was named to the Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) last season after a breakout junior season in 2015-16, culminating in two All-America honors (50 and 100 freestyle). She was also named the Most Outstanding Performer of the NE-10 Championship after capturing seven first place marks at the competition.
CROCHET A PRESEASON ALL-AMERICAN
Katherine Crochet has been named a preseason All-American by Collegeswimming.com after coming off a campaign in which she was named an All-American and the Northeast-10 Conference Swimmer of the Year, in addition to earning Most Outstanding Performer honors at the NE-10 Championship.
