    Stavo cercando un modo di fare un bacup/immagine di un disco che avevo in un player video senza dovere scollegare lo stesso dal complesso sistema audio/video che avevo faticato a collegare.
    Fortunatamente il player presentava un casseto con il disco rigido che permetteva di sfilare lo stesso in modo semplice.
    Questo strumento è risultato perfetto per la mia necessità e lo potro usare, in futuro, sia con PATA che SATA e sia con 3.5" che con 2.5".
    L'utilizzo e il collegamento è molto intuitivo e mo consiglio a tutti coloro che hanno simili necessità.

    Ottimo prodotto, l'ho comprato per duplicare un hard disk, ha funzionato benissimo, veloce nel trasferimento dati, prezzo giusto per la qualità del prodotto .

    Purtroppo l'articolo ha funzionato solo 3 volte dopodiché ha smesso di essere utilizzabile, purtroppo non è più possibile effettuare il reso.

    I just got a new computer and, with the layout, I could only connect one of my SATA drives so I needed a device that would allow me to access data from another SATA drive without constantly opening the case and disconnecting and reconnecting the drives. I then remembered I had some very old hard drives around. I looked at a few of these converters to try to find one that would read my current SATA drive and my 20 year old IDE drive/15-18 year old SATA drives. I found several others that were extremely cheap but it wasn’t clear if they worked with Windows 11 or lasted very long. I’ve used StarTech USB hubs and wireless adapters before and they all worked great for long periods of time so decided to give this a try. I simply followed the instructions on the correct order to connect it to the converter device/power/computer. The computer saw the drive immediately. I didn’t even have to use the driver installation disk it came with. Truly plug and play on Windows 11! I was able to delete the files and format the drives for recycling, finally, which included a corrupted SATA drive I thought was long gone. Pulled the needed files, reformatted. DONE! I’ve had these drives hoarded for a long time and they just kept moving with me. Finally decided to do something with them. You don’t need to look at anymore cheap knockoffs. You won’t regret purchasing this StarTech USB to SATA/IDE converter. You will regret buying something cheap that doesn’t work then having to come back to buy this one. Save time/money and buy this from the start.

    I had the previous USB 2.0 version of this hard disk adapter and it worked well enough but it just wasn't fast enough for my needs.
    I'm a tech who spends a lot of time doing data recovery jobs and it helps to be able to dock hard drives with the added performance gains of USB 3.0. I tested this one on a couple of SATA 7200RPM drives and was reaching average speeds of about 125MB/s which is consistent with USB 3.0 performance.
    This version also comes with LED indicators to show disk activity when in use which is pretty handy. Everything needed comes in the box so I can easily attach SATA or IDE drives in both laptop and desktop form factor.
    It works very well and is worth every penny. Highly recommended.

    **Update**

    Shortly after reviewing this product I discovered a problem which I thought I would post as it might help others who own this or are thinking or purchasing it.
    I originally tested the device with SATA drives which worked flawlessly but when trying to data scrub a couple of old IDE (PATA) drives I found they could not be detected.
    I made sure that power was running to the hard drives, USB connections were secure and IDE jumper pins were set correctly but still no joy. I bought two of these adapters and both had the exact same problem when testing on two separate workstations which made it highly unlikely that it was a device failure.
    At this point I decided to call StarTech who have a UK local rate support number listed on the product manual, handy!
    I was on hold for less than 1 minute when a support rep with an American accent asked me to give him the product number and a description of the problem. After giving him this info along with my troubleshooting steps already taken he explained it could be a detection timing issue on the device IDE controller. He asked me to disconnect everything and then power the drive up again without connecting to the computer via USB for 30 seconds, after this he asked me to plug in the USB cable and it worked! The same for the other IDE drives too. It should be noted that this is only necessary when attaching IDE drives NOT regular SATA drives.
    I was extremely happy with StarTech for providing such excellent support and would give this product additional review stars if it were possible!
