Brilliant opportunity for an existing private practice commercial lawyer of around 2PQE+ to make a first move in house. Great, young, vibrant business at exciting stage of international growth. Already a market leader in the UK, this is a first time London legal appointment to work closely with the businesses commercial and retail teams, alongside the GC and another lawyer who are based in the HQ outside of London.

A broad and varied commercial contracts role with the opportunity to undertake IP and data protection and some wider transactional work as the business grows internationally if that is of interest. This is really a role that the successful candidate can make their own - the right balance of autonomy and support with important buy in from all senior personnel from founders and COO to Head of Legal and other Heads (People, Product etc).

You will review, draft, negotiate and advise on a broad range of legal and commercial documents which may include (but are not limited to) service agreements with clients, licenses & IP agreements, general commercial contracts and non-disclosure agreements.

Additionally, you will identify and analyse legal issues arising from transactions, business strategies, initiatives and new projects. Assist in the identification, management and control of legal and related operational risks. Assist in the management of external legal advisors; including the issuing of clear instructions and monitoring of legal spend.

Assistance to the legal team with ad hoc queries for all areas of the business, including researching and investigating specific legal matters and presenting the results to the General Counsel and the Senior Management Team. Support process improvement projects where required.

You must have the ability to work on your own, advise and make decisions in a very fast changing environment. You must have the ability to prioritise your workload and adapt to the ever changing needs of the business. Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and problem solving skills will also be necessary.
