The location is Rancho Mariposa in the highlands of Santa Cruz. It's a good place to see giant tortoises. They come here on their own at certain times of the year. The rancher, who is also a naturalist, gives them free access to the ranch.

This is Espanola, the oldest of the Galapagos islands. I should have taken two gigapan images here; one for the cliffs and one for the rock pillar. I couldn't extend the image further left; there were two groups of people milling around there.
