From the Author
When I wrote FORCED MATE, I thought that Tarrant-Arragon was the ultimate hero, and that I'd never write a stronger male character.
Then I wrote Mating Net, and fell in love with the god-Emperor Djohn-Kronos.
And then... along came Djetth. Of all my heroes, I'd choose to have Djetth with me if I were ever lost in the wilderness or washed up on a desert island, because he really knows how to handle himself...and his mate!
From the Back Cover

INSUFFICIENT MATING MATERIAL
FUTURISTIC ROMANCE
About the Author
Rowena's youth was spent on the tiny British island of Guernsey: a mystical, fog-shrouded, idyllic setting with its prehistoric earth-goddess, historic Martello towers, underground gun emplacements left from Hitler's North Atlantic Wall, and legends of faery men emerging from a cave in the Hommet Headland to mate with human women.
A school chess champion and winner of the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award, Rowena went to ancient Cambridge University for her four-year combined honors degree in English and Education, after which she taught at exclusive boarding schools, first in Dorset, then in London.
Eventually Rowena met and married her auto designer husband, who whirled her off to Germany to live the glamorous life of an alien abroad. Reassigned to America, they rode in pace cars at the Indy 500 and Brickyard 500, and were flown in corporate jets to exotic locations.
Rowena's life so far has been fantastic inspiration for romance novel scenes and alien-world building.
Rowena lives in Michigan with her husband and daughter.
Other books include the Award winning MATING NET.

About the author

Rowena Cherry's "Mission Statement"
My goal as a Romance author is to give good value. I expect to provide my readers with six to eight hours of amusement, a couple of really good laughs, a romantic frisson or two from the sensual scenes, a thoroughly satisfying HEA, and something to think -or talk-- about when the book is finished.
I'm unreliably psychic. I've exceptionally good hearing, an eye for detail, and a near-photographic memory. And, I've lurked and observed from some of the world's most glamorous and privileged vantage points.
I've played chess in an exhibition match against a Grand Master in the stately home of a Lord, and duplicate bridge for money (disastrously) in Marbella, dined aboard a sheikh's yacht in the Puerto Jose Banus, and received the gold level of the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award inside Buckingham Palace, been driven in pace cars at the Indy 500, picked the brains of rocket scientists and rock stars???.and much more.
My life so far has been fantastic inspiration for romance novel scenes and alien-world building.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2008Continued from the review on FORCED MATE... This is a series you want to read in order. Rowena ramps up the tension from book to book, building on what came before.
In INSUFFICIENT MATING MATERIAL, the (believed dead) former traitor Captain Jason is reintroduced to the 'polite society' of Tigron as Prince Djetthro-Jason, the forced husband of Tarrant-Arragon's sister, Martia-Djulia.
The princess walks into her wedding day, believing Captain Jason has returned to her willingly, at the urging of her older brother, to marry her. Instead, she's faced with a 'replacement' husband of her brother's choosing, a scrawny, bald wanna-be prince with a straggly beard. Where is the man she loves? The dashing captain with the long, blond hair and the grusome scar on his face? At his urging, she runs...leaving him at the altar.
Djetth had hoped she'd see through the disguise...or maybe he hadn't. He still can't understand what happened the day he found himself in a stunted rut-rage with Martia-Djulia. He still wants Djinni, which indicates he rut-raged with her, but he wants the princess as well. It's enough to drive a sensible Djinn crazy, and Djinns aren't known for being sensible men.
Added to it are Tarrant-Arragon's plots to force them to mate, but his refusal to let Djetth admit to Martia-Djulia that he's Captain Jason; Martia-Djulia's disastrous first mating, her phobias and her limited memory of certain shattering events in her youth; and, lest we forget, a killer with a contract out on the princess's life.
Again...excellent book! Some twists you'll see coming. Some you won't. The royal family tree is delightfully twisted, and lies and plots have made it all the more convoluted.
The veiled civility of the Tiger Princes gives a refreshing edge to the usual alpha male type. Their animalistic tendencies and drives are well-portrayed and imminently believable.
This is a series you don't want to miss. With KNIGHT'S FORK coming up next (Sept 30th), you'll want to snag the earlier books and catch up, if you haven't read them already. I'm eagerly awaiting the rest of the series and have added it to my auto-buy list.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2007Picking right up on the same night as Forced Mate ended, the crew of the Ark Imperial spaceship is determined to convince everyone that the traitor Commander Jason is dead and give him the new identity of Prince Djetth. If you didn't read Forced Mate, which is a very good book I suggest you pickup, you may have to take a little time to aclimate to the story. But this book could be read as a stand alone novel because most of the pertinent back story is revealed.
With his scar removed and his broken jaw repaired, a few physical changes altered, and a thinner physique due to his recovery time after the fight with Emporer Heir Tarrant Arragon, Prince Djetth goes to his wedding to the lovely Princess Martia-Djulia whom he enjoyed so thoroughly in the prevoius book. Only Martia-Djulia is not amused at this replacement to her dead love, Commander Jason, and in her grief says no and flings him across the room with powers she never knew she had. This leaves her brother in somewhat of a sticky situation. He needs Djetth to no longer be a threat, he wants his sister to be happy, and if she's pregnant from her former fling with Jason/Djetth he needs to get her married off before the Emporer finds out.
So, being the mischievous playboy that he is, Tarrant-Arragon carefully shoots his sister and one-time-best-freind down over a desserted island that he's had stocked for their pleasure. And he's watching from the orbit above to make sure his plan works. But another Djinn in the family also has plans which aren't quite as freindly as Tarrant-Arragon's mischief...
The real beauty of this story is in the character detail. Djetth shines. From his badly timed jokes, his contemplations on fish skin condoms, and his absurd ideas of impressing the princess on a desert island by being a rock star, you'll love his inner monolouge. Tarrant-Arragon also has his hands full with a pregnant wife who's not entirely happy with him. 'Rhett's character grows a little more and I hope he get his own book. And of course Greivous shows up to impart his earthy wisdom.
I had somewhat of a disconnect with Martia-Djulia's character though. At times you were able to relate to her, which is important as she is our heroine, but I never really got a firm grip on her. This became somewhat of a dissappointment toward the end of the book. The book is very entertaining though, well worth picking up.Enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2010First rule of writing a book: do not name all of your characters in your book with the letter J. And don't disguise it by putting a D in front. It was way too confusing and not too cutesy. I could not even get through the first 20 pages before it was too confusing. If Rowana Cherry want to make this a series, she is going to have to break her Dj rule. Maybe, all the characters will have Ph in front of their names. Think of the possibilities, Phrancis, Phrank, and Phreddie.
