The first Flat Classroom Conference held in Doha, Qatar was a Project Based Learning format which harnessed the power of Web 2.0 tools to empower students and educators to design the future of global learning in a Face to Face format in Doha, Qatar but with virtual participation around the world from their schools and others. This conference was made possible as a result of the Flat Classroom projects founded in October 2006 by Julie Lindsay (Australia, Bangladesh, Qatar, China) and Vicki Davis (Camilla, GA USA) and funded by HSBC Bank and Qatar Academy.
