I caught word in a note over on alt.music.chapel-hill that the old Chilango
owner has opened a new restaurant that is not a buffet, but rather order
from the menu. They say it is "in White Cross across from Lloyd's grocery,
which is the BP stattion.". They also mentioned that some place called the
Lil' Bar is across the street. They saw the guy in there and say that the
chili rellenos are better than Chilango's were.

Anyway, all of this is supposedly about 6 miles WEST of Carrboro on Highway
54

If anyone over there tries it, let us all know what the deal is! I'm still
in mourning over that closing.

I thought the guy behind El Chilango was Jacques Menache.

There is a place called Mexican Fiesta, I think, that is about 6 miles
west of Carrboro Plaza/US Post Office. I saw a newspaper article posted
there that included a picture of the three Mexican owners. According to
one of these owners, one of them was the chef at Chilangos.

I was heart-broken when El Chilango closed, so it is good to have this
place. We ate there once over a month; I remember that we really enjoyed
it but I can't say precisely what we had--it is all mixed up with the
stuff we ate since then on a trip Mexico.

Also the Lil Bar is not across the street, it is just before you get to
the restaurant.
