London's new cable car tested ahead of summer opening

Help

Testing is under way of London's newest form of transport - a gondola lift cable car across the River Thames in east London.

The cable car will link east London to the O2 arena in Greenwich.

Transport for London said it would be ready for people to use by the summer but there were no plans for it to be open before the Olympics.

It said it would be both a tourist attraction and a new commuter route and was never part of the Olympics Transport Plan.
