Dutch star set to snub Aston Villa after claiming club are ‘not very good’

Aston Villa target Bas Dost looks set to snub interest from Alex McLeish's side after labelling them "not very good",

The Dutchman is the Eredivisie's leading scorer with 23 league strikes, four of which have come from the penalty spot, for Heerenveen and has been linked with a move to Villa Park.

Villa are not enjoying the best of seasons under McLeish, as they sit just three places outside the relegation zone - a fact Dost has been made aware of.

When asked about the Midlands club's interest Dost told Der Telegraaf: "That I knew. I know the club is not very good, but the interest is great.

"I have an agreement with my agent to stay during the season and not talk to other clubs."
