The Spurs sign center Dewayne Dedmon to a 2-year deal

With Boris Diaw being traded to the Jazz, and the Pistons offering Boban Marjanovic a deal the Spurs are unlikely to match, San Antonio is taking steps to deal with their sudden lack of big man depth.

Free agent center Dewayne Dedmon has agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs, league sources tell The Vertical.

The 26-year-old seven footer is quite athletic and can protect the rim. He's spent the past two seasons with the Orlando Magic, even starting occasionally when they needed a defensive presence. He's capable of spelling the starters for about 15 minutes a game. Deeper analysis to come.
