A French brass mounted gilded hunting hanger c. 1775 with a grip in tortoise shell and mother of pearl. The hilt decorated with hunting scenes, the shell with Hercules fighting a many headed monster, the c. 63 cm. long blade etched with a hunting scene on each side of the ricasso.

Condition

The tortoise shell damaged on one side. The blade stained. The gilding almost gone.
