      Good set. Assembly is a pain, expect to spend an hour or more if you are not familiar with similar products.

      Sound is good through headphones (not included), and even better though an amp (not included)... keeping in mind you will need to adapt to the standard 1/4" amp input from the supplied output (1/4", I believe).

      The sound module has a cheap feel to it, but mine worked and works well. The pedals are stiff to actuate, but I think that is good for a burgeoning drummer.

      All in all, I think this set is a great value for the money. My son uses it often and enjoys it. If you are worried about breakage and whatnot during shipment... you should already be an Amazon Prime member... we get free 2 day shipping and free return shipping, if the need arises.

      I've been a drummer for over 30 years. I've had both electric kits and regular kits.
      I can tell you from decades of experience that drum gear is *ALWAYS* expensive for the good stuff. For the low price, this set meets expectations.
      I bought this kit for my son's 7th birthday. I coupled it with a very inexpensive, 20 watt guitar amp and it's not bad at all.
      As others have mentioned, the module (brain, soundmaker, whatever you want to call it) feels cheap. The eighth inch (3.5mm) cables that go to each trigger pad feel cheap and I expect them to fail soon.

      Cons-
      Module has cheap feel to it
      Needs 3rd tom pad. If you're going to teach the kid to play, they need the entire kit.
      Needs more voices in the module
      Hi-Hat voice and control leaves something to be desired
      Tough to upgrade due to non-standard 3.5mm cables. (Should be 1/4 inch)

      Pros-
      Price point is good!
      Pads respond well
      Comes with sticks, so it's ready to go out of the box (minus throne, but that's an easy fix)
      Rack is well made and feels sturdy.

      No sound comes out when the power is on, the instructions do not cover very much other than how to set the drump set up on the stand after that nothing. I will have to return it. Bummer
      I have tried to contact the Pyle Company via phone and emails for support for this drum set not making any sound and they will not even reply to my emails or calls, this is terrible customer service for a product that I wanted very much. I downloaded everything they have online to try and find out if I did something wrong but there is no information for you see if you did not make a mistake in setting up the set. I do not understand why a company makes a person go thru this, now I have to take the set down (which was a total pain to set up) package it up and return it. The only thing I have learned is a hard lesson with electronic drums, DON'T PURCHASE FROM PYLE.

      I used this a few gigs but went back to my acoustical set. Just doe not have the feeling of the real thing although it isn't highly expensive either. The higher priced models do sound great and have a distinct feel a rocker can get into.

      I bought this set for my 10 year old son who is starting drum lessons. Once built the set has been fine. My main purpose was purchasing it was to have him practice quietly, and it achieves that purpose. However, it would be nice if you could hear it without headphones as well. Supposedly you need to attach speakers to make that happen -- I need to look into that. I am a mom and put this together with my 2 kids. It took forever (most of one evening and part of the next morning). All those screws were a pain to attach securely. I'm used to putting all the kids toys together, but I have to say this one was the worst. Thankfully, that part was a one-time deal. Also, one of the wooden drumsticks that came with it cracked after only about a week. Hopefully, that's not a sign of things to come for the rest of the set.

Still haven't r/c'd our new panel.
