Come Up. Photographs by Tetsuya Ichimura. Texts by Tetsuya Ichimura, Shin'ichi Kusamori, and Tomomi Ito. Shashin Hydron-sha, Japon, 1971. 48 pp. Quarto (10 1/4 x 10 1/4 in.; 26 x 26 cm). First edition. SIGNED in Kanji on preliminary page and dated 2000, with personal chop stamp. Stiff wrappers in original acetate jacket. Cardboard slipcase with printed label.

Included in Ivan Vartanian & Ryuichi Kaneko, Japanese Photobooks of the 1960s and 1970s.
From the same publisher as Eikoh Hosoe's Embrace and Daido Moriyama's Bye, Bye Photography.
An enigmatic book that juxtaposes graphic close-ups of entangled bodies with images of the dark, atmospheric landscapes. Though left deliberately ambiguous, these pairings evoke the a familiar psychedelic theme, one that freely conflates chthonic and erotic energies. A rare SIGNED, complete copy.
