UCLA COMMUNITY PROGRAMS OFFICE Leadership Awards 2012                                          
The UCLA Community Programs Office [CPO] End of the Year Reception will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2012 at the UCLA Anderson School of Management Alumni Plaza. The CPO brings together all 3 entities housed within the department including the CPO Community Service Projects, Student Initiated Access center, Student Retention Center and the Student Risk Education Committee. At the end of every year, we celebrate a year of hard work, volunteerism, and achievement to under-served communities.

During our reception, individuals are awarded for their outstanding achievement in service. These awards have been established to honor outstanding students, faculty, staff and/ or administrators who, through the example of their extraordinary leadership and commitment to social change help to advance the work of the UCLA Community Programs Office.

We are seeking nominations for students, faculty, staff and administrators who have made a difference at UCLA or in their community. Candidates must be involved with the UCLA Community Programs Office in some capacity ( e.g. Project Director, volunteer, faculty sponsor, etc.).

Nominations are open until May 7, 2012. All nominations must include 1) NAME OF NOMINEE 2) PROJECT/ORG 3) EXPLANATION FOR NOMINATION.

" A Conscious Effort in the Community" Award
This award is CPO's highest honor and is awarded to the student that has made the greatest impact within the department, UCLA campus, and Los Angeles community. Include: 1)NAME OF NOMINEE 2) PROJECT 3) EXPLANATION FOR NOMINATION
"Open Heart, Open Mind" Award
Presented to the staff, faculty, or administrator that has shown exceptional support and involvement with the Community Programs Office as a whole (community service, retention, and outreach efforts). INCLUDE 1) NAME OF NOMINEE 2) PROJECT 3) EXPLANATION FOR NOMINATION
" Outstanding Senior" Award
Presented to a graduating senior within the CPO office whose stellar performance in their final year including specific campaigns to improve the UCLA campus and greater community. Include: 1)NAME OF NOMINEE 2) PROJECT 3) EXPLANATION FOR NOMINATION
" Janet E. Brown Memorial" Award
This award is given each year to a student who exemplifies the CPO's vision of developing better people. Janet Brown was the founding director of the Writing Success Program. she was inspired by President Barack Obama's motto of "yes we can." The student who wins this award has gone above and beyond her or his service, doing something that no one thought was possible and in the process, improving the future of student life and student programs. "Cynthia E. Rabuy" Award
Presented to the individual that exemplifies the spirit of Cindy Rabuy's work. Cindy Rabuy was a woman who took what she learned from the CPO and applied it in her work beyond the office. Her work within the greater UCLA community and the community at large always maintained ties with and furthered the work and teachings of CPO.
