Clarence Yapp (Composer) Clarence Clarence has been composing music since 2011. He writes epic music with orchestral and choir themes for film, tv, and games. Prior to composing music, he was a filmmaker and understands the intimate link between a film and its score. He started out by learning the piano, guitar, drums and eventually the clarinet from Ann Perreau's Youth Orchestra (2002-2006). While studying in Oxford, UK, he joined the original lineup of rock cover band F.B.I (Freaking Big Instruments) as the drummer. The band later changed its name to Plastic Mattress in 2009 and performed at several events in Oxford. After that, Clarence switched back to film music, but the experiences he had with filmmaking and performing in the orchestra and rock bands has immensely helped him to understand orchestration and the process of writing music for film. Music is a big hobby for Clarence. He also currently holds a PhD (DPhil) and a Masters of Science both from Oxford University in Engineering Science. He works as a post-doctoral research scientist in the field of drug development with links to cancer research. Clarence loves to collaborate, so if you have a project or an idea in mind, send him a message and he'll get right back to you!
