The first part of the contest is now closed! And we have winners!

So for the 3D part, we had only one entry so he wins by default, but that doesn't mean his deviation isn't good! He has a really nice 3D model of Fella!

For the 2D part, we decided that the winner is :

It was a hard choice, but we finally decided that he should win because it was the one that touched the most the "vacation" theme.

part 2 - Animation

Now it's the animators turn!

What you have to do is to animate the winner's Fella in vacation. You can choose if you want to do it in 2D or in 3D, but you have to use the models from the winners.

2D Animation : Your Fella must be doing snowboard. Fella runs, breaks, then steps on his board and starts to slide. Then he hits something weird (your choice) and is thrown away. If you feel that the action goes too fast to last 10 seconds, you can make all the action fast and at the end after he hits someting, then you can improvise (maybe the thing he hit is a yeti and he comes back to eat Fella).

3D Animation: Fella must go take his solar cream, puts some on himself until he receives something weird(your choice) behind the head. (we don't have to see the cream, it can be invisible) If you model objects, you don't have to texture them, or maybe just add basic colours if you want. It is your choice. Also, it doesn't have to be a nice render, it can be only a playblast.

All entries must be a Minimum of 10 seconds so it can be submitted to the Film gallery.

What if the 3D model isn't compatible??
We make an exception for the 3D part because it's much more complicated than 2D. If you cannot use the winner's model because it's not compatible with your software, you can choose any model you want, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE RIGHTS TO USE IT. If it is your own model, then that's perfect! If you don't have any model and don't know where to get one, you can go on http://www.highend3d.com . Then you choose the software you're working with, and you click on rigged character. You can choose a lot of rigged character there and they are usually free. Read carefully the term of use for these characters to be sure you can use them and post them on the internet.
