★★★★★! Baby Series Lite, book 1 of 3.5. Trey & Ty’s epic family saga filled with danger, suspense, villains, lust & their growing all-consuming love!

“I rather like it when you take charge.”
“You do?”
“Of course; just as long as you only do it when I let you,” he clarified, giving me his wicked grin.”

Baby Series Lite is a newly edited and revised Anniversary edition of last summer’s Baby Series. The author listened to reviewers’ feedback as well as readers who were holding back on reading due to its length. In Baby Series Lite you will have the edited down version of same story, plus bonus chapters and bonus epilogues.

Baby Series Lite (book 1-3) is the epic family saga about Trey and Tylar and their extended and growing family. Baby Come Back Lite (book 3.5) is the continued story about Tristan, Trey’s brother and Gina, Ty’s best friend but also includes the Sinclair’s. Since there is a mystery to be solved it’s critical that these books be read in order, and as a set:
Maybe Baby Lite (book 1)
Baby Love Lite (book 2)
Be My Baby Lite (book 3)
Baby Come Back Lite (book 3.5)
Baby Series Lite - Omnibus to be released in late September

Maybe Baby opens up with Tylar Preston, Ty starting her summer job at the Sinclair Stables. She is attending at nearby college with the aspiration on becoming a horse breeder. She encounters the owner’s youngest son and successful attorney, Trey Sinclair and while an immediate attraction is obvious, sparks fly as Trey brushes her off.

Ty starts having dreams from suppressed childhood memories followed by odd happenings. It soon becomes apparent that someone is out to hurt her. She needs “rescuing” - enter sworn bachelor Trey. And so their story begins and moves along rather quickly with baby news while Ty’s past comes back to haunt her. It’s a bumpy road filled with danger and suspense, villains and set-backs, sexual chemistry and lust, but above all a growing family love.

 photo SmithBabySeriesLite1-3HeroinebySueBee_zps135075ee.jpg

Tylar Preston, Ty pulled me in from the first page. Five words to describe Ty: Resourceful, sweet, spunky, smart and innocent.

 photo SmithBabySeriesLite1-3HerobySueBee_zps7e7f5192.jpg

Trey Michael Sinclair turned out to be a great alpha; he is handsome and sexy, rich and successful and to top it off he has commitment issues (yum!). Five words to describe Trey: Captivating, possessive, authoritarian, non-committal and unforgettable.

Even though the length of Maybe Baby, the original, had not bothered me per se the 300 some pages edited out were noticeable yet the story feels intact. As a beta reader I was able to provide input into edits and after reviewing the revised beta version I believe this new Lite edition will appeal to more readers.

Maybe Baby Lite does not have a cliff-hanger ending. Instead story leads us right to book 2, Baby Love Lite for the continuation of their saga. I really enjoyed this less common approach of the couple coming together and the readers getting to follow them in their relationship; first with baby on the way and in subsequent books after the baby is born and their family is established. Excellent story telling! Memorable characters! An engaging, humorous and very sexy read! Thanks Ms. Smith.

“Then Tylar, I suggest we stop fucking,” he replied, a look of sincere concern on his handsome face. “I’d hate for our child to hear some of the things that Mommy screams when Daddy hits her special spot.”

4 ROCKY ROAD STARS

description

I was approached by the author Andrea Smith to read and review the anniversary edition, and professionally shortened version of her book 'maybe baby - lite'. I've had the original version on my kindle for quite some time now, so naturally I was delighted to be given the opportunity to read this story and meet the infamous Trey Sinclair and Tylar Preston. Well, what a journey it has been, in between a cracking chemistry and developing love story, the reader is thrown into a world of drama, chaos, back and forth anxiety and suspense. 'Maybe baby - lite' is an equally entertaining and frustrating story and here are my Maybe baby book thoughts ...

What's it all about?
Tylar Preston is making her own way in life, with a shady past and a undescribably horrible mother this young impressionable woman is determined to be nothing like the woman who brought her into this life. Tylar is a college student with a summer Job at Sinclair stables her love for horses means that she is enthralled with her employment. Trey Sinclair is a successful, arrogant business man his life is as ordered as his suits and he has no hope for a future of love. When Trey returns home to oversee his parents livelihood at Sinclair stables for the summer nothing can prepare him for the chance meeting with the new girl looking after his treasured horse. After a connection that surprises them both occurs the story follows the journey of this couple where chemistry, suspense, secrets and danger follows them both at every turn. After a long, windy and surprising road can this duo find a happy ending that leaves their hearts intact? 'Maybe baby' is not for the faint hearted, this authors self dubbed light erotica story, is as dramatic as it is sensual and is filled to the brim with unforgettable moments and a love that is hoping for forever.

description

What did I love?
The story was paced well, it had mystery, secrets and a love story that kept me entertained throughout. The story telling was well thought out and it was an obvious labour of love from the authors heart. There was an authentic knowledge of the legal and equine topics surrounding the story line. The plot was not at all predictable and in my opinion the author dealt with some sensitive subjects thoroughly and appropriately. The passion between the duo was sexy and intimate, the author obviously has a talent for writing the more intimate scenes and as a reader you don't need convincing about the characters chemistry and lust.

Meet the characters ...
Trey is irresistible and infuriating in equal measure, it's a good job I like my fictional characters bossy, moody and overly protective because this man is a domineering, outlandishly handsome, hot headed and at times unbearable character. I would have loved to have understood this character more thoroughly but this is seldom achieved when there is not dual point of view, this did however add to the mystery surrounding his character and I was always eager to learn more as the story developed.

Tylar was overly immature at the beginning of the story I personally didn't click with this character at all during the first part of the book. I empathised with her poor family life as a child but I desperately wanted her to have a little more about her, stand her ground and grow into a woman of worth that she could be, and actually as the story developed so did this character and by the end of the story she had grown considerably and I found myself cheering for the change. Tylar is somewhat damaged by her past, as a young woman she has dealt with some harrowing past experiences and I have to admit she showed strength when it was needed. Overall a likeable, vulnerable character that needs the right love to make her whole.

description

Why not five?
At times I found myself frustrated at the characters, decisions were made and conversations were had that I didn't connect with. I would have loved the female lead to have a little more back bone and be able to connect and understand the hero, Trey more. I found it difficult to understand the dynamics between the couple during the first 40%, I would find it much more rewarding if Trey and Ty had built up a friendship upon meeting, I felt like It was love at first meeting then an 'insta connection' that I didn't understand. I needed more to believe the attraction and longing, however Ultimately I enjoyed 'getting to know' the characters more as the book developed and by the end of the story I was more than convinced. The book over all had some shining five star moments, but it also had some parts that sadly fell a little flat and felt more three star, I enjoyed the book much more after the 50% mark, be prepared readers Trey and Tylar's journey is one Rocky road ...

Final thoughts ...
'Maybe baby lite' is a journey, no doubt the author invoked and created an atmosphere giving room for all kinds of feelings as the story develops, sometimes I loved the 'ride' sometimes I felt conflicted. Would I recommend this story? Yes, to those that like drama to the brim with characters that you have to learn to love. I was over the moon to grab the opportunity to read this story for Andrea Smith and I'm racing to add the rest of her books to my 'To be read soon' shelf. Go grab it readers, enjoy ... kisses.

*additional note, this book is not a stand alone story it is part of a series of books and although it does not have a typical cliff hanger it does leave the book open for the continuation of Trey and Tylar's story.*

5 Maybe Baby Stars!!!
 photo d7ffd135-6c89-4280-ae07-8498653b4abe_zpsa7a7d22f.jpg

Maybe Baby Lite was just the kind of book I’ve been looking for! Full of mystery, suspense, angst, steam, passion and love. An all around great read!

Tylar Preston hasn’t had the easiest life. She grew up in Kentucky with her neglectful and horrible mother. But now, she’s on her own. She is in Virginia for college. Tylar takes a summer job at Sinclair Stables. She loves horses, so it is the perfect opportunity for her. While she is working, she meets Trey Sinclair...

Trey is a sexy as hell alpha male who happens to be an attorney in Atlanta. He is home for part of the summer to make sure the stables are being run properly while his parents are out of town. Trey is taken with Tylar right away. He see’s her with his prized horse and he wants to know more about her. After an incident in the pool where Tylar gets hurt, Trey becomes a bit overprotective of her ('bit' may be an understatement...)

Tylar and Trey develop a connection, they have some major chemistry. But readers beware... there is a lot of back and forth between the two, angst, sexual tension.

Trey is a bit of a control freak, and I like that about him.
"I rather like it when you take charge."
"You do?"
"Of course; just as long as you only do it when I let you"

Although Trey makes it very clear to Tylar he is not ready for any type of serious commitment/relationship, these two get together. And it is HOT.
He wanted no complications, I got that, but sometimes it was the complications that made life interesting.

 photo b63450da-034e-46de-98c4-3b1b73d365fa_zps10a9a019.jpg

Tylar has trouble dealing with Trey’s controlling behavior at times. Her age and maturity level can come out towards the beginning of the book. She doesn’t like to be told what she can and cannot do, and she acts out a bit. She doesn’t know exactly where she stands with Trey and that scares her. She is starting to fall for him...

 photo 545ff881-62f6-4ccd-aa36-3162c14cdcee_zps32edad59.jpg

Their relationship is complicated. Exactly what Trey didn’t want. He has things in his past that make him this way. Tylar knows he was once engaged, but he never talks about it. No matter what state of their relationship is in, one thing never changes. Trey wants to protect Tylar. Protect her from her nightmares, the demons of her past that are starting to come back to haunt her. As much as Tylar doesn’t want to admit it, she wants Trey in her life. She needs him. One drunken night in the stable will change everything between them.

Miscommunications arise, Trey assumes something happened that didn’t and Tylar never corrects him. She goes back to Kentucky. She is off on her own. She has her friend Gina in Atlanta, but no real family left. Her family issues are still a mystery for now. But she is determined to make it on her own. Trey realizes his mistake and he knows he can’t be without Tylar. He didn’t want to... but he fell in love with her as well. He just needs to prove it to her. That she is the only one he wants.

 photo a30cedcd-b21f-499c-acf9-db7df0662997_zps754d31aa.jpg
“You’re mine, Tylar. Don’t ever forget that. You’re mine.”

As Tylar and Trey’s relationship moves forward, more secrets come to light and some crazy things are revealed.... I can’t wait to read the next book and see what happens next with Trey and Tylar!

I’ve read Andrea Smith’s G-man series and I really enjoyed them. I have to say, I think I liked this one even better! Trey is just amazing. I love him! There is never a dull moment in this book. The story, even though it’s lite was still a little on the long side, but it never lagged or dragged for me. It had a good pace and kept me engaged throughout the entire book. So much more than a romance between Tylar and Trey. Their journey is about love, trust, understanding, communication and that connection. It is full of lust, steamy and passionate sex, suspense, mystery, drama and angst. Trey and Tylar don’t have the easiest relationship, but neither one is willing to give up on each other. I’m excited to get more of my questions answered and see Trey and Tylar’s relationship progress in Baby Love Lite.

"Ready, baby?" he asked like a kid showing off his new toy, all grins. "Maybe, baby."

A really good book, that I actually enjoyed! A sweet and deliciously hot story, that its attention to detail, emotions and characters pulled at my heart strings. Yes, there were a few typos here and there, but they didn't turn me off.

Tylar Preston
A young, idealistic woman born a fighter. Strong, determined, but also delicate and emotional, she is a really likeable character. She works with horses to pay her way through college and she is trying to forget her mother's influence/abuse.

I brought it up and I want to get this out of my chest....

Holy shit, calling that woman a mother insults motherhood and women all over the world.

description

I'm sure somewhere in hell, they held an intervention and threw her out because she was too evil... I kid you not...

description

The kind of abuse suffered in her hands was horrifying...

Trey Sinclair

If I live to be a hundred, I pray to God that I am never as skeptical about love, life and human beings as you are at thirty, Trey."

Well, Trey has some issues too. At thirty years old, this lawyer has faced enough betrayal in his life, to become cynical. But he can't keep his heart closed off forever. Tylar slips through and together they guide each other to love and passion.

Arrogant and sexy, possessive and thickheaded, he infuriates us, but how can we stay mad at him?

description
Black hair, blue eyes and suits... definitely Matt Bomer!!!

Don't let the word count in this book, bother you! This is such a good story, because we see multiple interactions between the characters, we watch them grow and live!

And then unexpectedly, there was the following scene that had me rolling on the floor laughing...

“A bunch of desperate housewives are suing some publishing house for glorifying sadistic sex in some freaking erotica novels.” “I’m for real,” she giggles, “Apparently, they decided to try some of the shit they read about and got permanently injured down there. Is that not a hoot? What do you mean which side is Trey representing? The fucking housewives for Chrissake, Ian! He’s an attorney for class action plaintiffs, duh?”

description

I'm starting the next one immediately!!!!!

UPDATE: I had a talk with Andrea Smith (see comments below) and we did it girls!!! She decided to change the cover. Not only that, she promised us a contest. We choose the cover we like from a selection and she promised an award!! Gotta love an author who listens to her/his readers!

I really approve of the cover change!!!

Continue reading to find my reaction to the original cover!
This cover is just..... WRONG!

description

This is supposedly a book cover (and if I read the blurb right, the majority of this book takes place in, out or around some stables!!!), not who will be the next Miss USA magazine...

In Smashwords, where I purchased the book, the cover is better...

His nearness electrified me. He didn’t realize that he did those same things to me. My lips wanted him to kiss me, my heart wanted him to love me, and my hormones, well they were all about him spanking me at the moment.

I was going to have him tonight and whatever monsters or memories still lurked in my subconscious would just have to sit back and watch.

Well...that was definitely different. I went into this expecting a hot little read, but what I got is so much more.

No really! I kid you not, my friends. While this book was indeed a spicy one, I absolutely loved that it was filled with mystery, angst, and enough twists and turns to keep me turning the pages on my kindle till the very end.

There were things that I loved, things that I didn't quite love, and then things that plain irritated me.

Let's start with the characters.

Trey

Oh...I'm supposed to say something else about here, huh? Well alrighty then. It's no secret that I love the super arrogant, possessive, sexy commitment-phobe types and Trey was that in spades. Unfortunately at times, it was a tad much...even for me. I found myself getting frustrated with him and the choices he would made and things he did at times. I had a tough time getting into the dynamic of his relationship with Tylar in the beginning. It just felt like they went from hate-lust at first sight to a somewhat relationship. I just wanted a little more development there. But as much as I wanted to slap him at times, I still loved him. It's just something about those arrogant assholes. No matter how much they piss me off, I still love them. Le sigh.

Taylor
I had a love/hate relationship with Taylor for a large part of this book. I had to keep reminding myself that she was only 21. She had a horrific childhood that left her dealing with quite a few demons. Her immaturity is what ultimately drove me crazy about her. The choices she would make with Trey frustrated the hell out of me. Not to say that Trey was an angel, but Taylor made some choices that had me wanting to reach through my Kindle and shake her.

I also had a hard time believing her sexual 180. She went from

to

I swear, I'm not sure what was in her Cosmo articles, but damn! Girl picked up some skills for a virgin.
I also could have done without her constant reference to Trey's smooth and silky voice. I swear, every time she said it, I would just get a flashback to

And after I got done giggling like a stupid school girl, I would just roll my eyes.
But as much as she frustrated me, I couldn't help but grow to like her towards the end of the book.

Tylar's mom

I said it before, and I'll say it again: I want to kick this woman in the ovaries. My inner dirty girl and I had many conversations about this (yes, I talk to myself at times...what of it?) and we are in total agreement here

The story
This was quite possibly my favorite part about the book. While I love a steamy romance, it needs to have a good plot to go along with it to keep my interest. And Maybe Baby Lite definitely had that. I loved every part about the story; the side characters, the mystery, the angst, EVERYTHING. I friggin LOVED Gina, her humor, the things she'd say; she was awesome. Tristan also managed to give Trey a run for his money in the sexiness department. I just saw that I will be getting more of my 2 favorite side characters in book 3.5 (Andrea, you rock, woman!) and I cannot wait to read all about them.

The steam
Sweet baby Jebus but this book was HAWT! Sadly, I'm not sure if my ovaries survived this book. I'm pretty sure they might have had a spontaneous combustion somewhere around the 60% mark.

As much as they frustrated me at times, and putting aside the few cheesy lines that gave me an eye roll or 5, I loved Tylar and Trey together. They weren't perfect and had plenty of issues. But ultimately I liked where it brought them to by the end of the book. Though that ending...THAT ENDING! THank God I have the second book already, or someone might have gotten hurt LOL.

So that is all the ramblings from this girl, I'm off to lick...errr...read more Trey in Baby Love Lite. And I thank you

My lips wanted him to kiss me, my heart wanted him to love me, and my hormones, well they were all about him spanking me at the moment.

Maybe Baby Lite has absolutely everything I look for in a book: likeable and believable characters, a mystery or two to solve, off the charts sexual chemistry and PLENTY of angst! Boy, did this book ever deliver on the angst!

To say Tylar Preston has had a hard life would be a huge understatement. The poor girl was raised by a mother that not only cared little for her but seemed to take delight in making her miserable. At nearly twenty one, she’s on her own and about to finish her last year of college. Through her mother’s mysterious connections (hmmm) she finds herself working with horses at the Sinclair Family Stables.

As luck would have it, hot attorney Trey Sinclair is home to make sure everything runs smoothly while his parents are on vacation. Tylar and Trey’s first meeting isn’t a friendly one and I’ll be honest with you and admit I wasn’t Trey’s biggest fan at first. He seemed a little pompous, a little judgmental and a whole lot like he needed to have the stick removed from his ass pronto! Trey’s protective and generous nature becomes evident when Tylar’s forced to spend some time in the hospital after an accident. Trey’s overprotectiveness continues after Tylar is sent home and girlfriend is just not having it!

One bottle of domestic Chardonnay wine: $6.99. The look on Trey Sinclair’s face after I’d finished drinking it: Fucking Priceless!

Eventually the mutual lust can’t be denied and these two start hitting the sheets, with the agreement that once the relationship starts to get complicated, they split. Yes, he’ll bang her brains out, no he won’t fall in love with her is basically what it boils down to.

Trey had made his position perfectly clear. I wondered if it would really be that simple for him. He wanted no complications, I got that, but sometimes it was the complications that made life interesting.

Tylar and Trey’s relationship bothered me a little at first because Tylar was lead so easily by Trey, but as the story progressed I realized that was natural. Trey’s experienced and thirty. Tylar is inexperienced and twenty one. She needed time to catch up to his level of maturity in so many ways and as the story moved on, she did in a very natural and believable way. There wasn't any drastic personality changes, she simply began to find her voice and use it.

”I’m not judging you, Tylar. I just know what I see is someone trying their best to please a man who might just prefer his woman not to change into something she’s not. Doesn’t mean it won’t be a rocky road, but it’ll be one traveled together.”

As Trey and Tylar’s relationship becomes more serious, Tylar’s also forced to deal with her past in a scary way. Along with her mother vanishing and doing some things I’m not going to spoil, someone keeps breaking into her cottage and leaving items from her past along with threatening notes. Most are memories she thought she’d put behind her. I loved this aspect of the story and I’m excited there’s more to unravel in the next book in the series.

The best part about this book is that there’s so much going on all at once but it never seems convoluted or confusing. This revised, shorter addition was the perfect reading length for me and I can’t wait to get back to Tylar and Trey’s story in Baby Love Lite!

A big, huge thank you to Andrea Smith for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

Tylar has had it rough...and the kicker is that she doesn't even realize yet just how rough she's had it. She's blocked a lot of things from her mind, only now "remembering" certain events as vague nightmares...only bad dreams that built of a smaller reality. But she's getting ready to learn that these nightmares are real, and that they are coming after her.

Tylar is a senior in college, working a grunt job at the illustrious Sinclair stables. But she's happy with her life, content working around horses.

This was one thing that I really just LOVED about this girl...throughout everything that happens to her, she never has a pity party. Girl keeps trucking, and really, that's the BEST! Too many heroines blame their adult mistakes on their rough childhood...that's a fallback that Andrea Smith did not use. The only way Tylar's past factors in here is when it won't stay in the past. And even though Tylar acted a fool a few times, she is young...twenty years old, on her own in the world...girl makes some stupid decisions that add drama to her life. Partying and having a bit too much fun sometimes. I had to feel bad for her once or twice, because she just gets herself into the most awkward situations, and it brings back memories from when I was young and not quite so bright, when I, like Tylar, was a tad to spontaneous.

Trey Sinclair is a thirty year old law partner at a prestigious firm.

Born to privilege, he's used to getting what he wants. Add that to his strong alpha, domineering tendencies, and you've got one hell of a mix of overpowering male! But he also has a very tender, sympathetic side to him that comes into play quite often, and you never do forget about it. Staying at his parents to oversee their business while they are on an extended vacation, Trey runs into the little spitfire Tylar, a girl with a kind heart toward horses and rebellion in her eyes...especially when it comes to him!! Before long, Trey knows that he wants her. And just like Tylar, he makes his own set of mistakes in this tumultuous love affair. Trey can be mighty possessive, very jealous, and extremely over protective. He can also be so, so good to Tylar!

"What you want at 21 may not necessarily be what you want at 30. You're young and idealistic; you've not come to realize these realities yet. That's not a bad thing, don't gt me wrong, enjoy and revel in it for as long as you can, just know that it won't last forever."

But you know what, it's a learning curve. And it's evident to me that Trey and Tylar are both very willing to keep on making their relationship work. They meet under fairly extreme circumstances, and their bond keeps them together through some crazy times.

A scary subplot to the romance comes in the form of Tylar's evil, EVIL mother and her minion. You just have to read about this woman to believe, seriously. I can't even think straight, being a mother myself...I just can't wrap my mind around her actions.

I have to admit, Tylar got on my nerves for a while. But the story itself was so compelling, and the natural flow from young girl to new lover to a woman really coming into her own is exciting. And it's not over. I'm anticipating great things from a girl that I almost wrote off due to stupid choices.

The pace of this story picks up at about the halfway point...literally, the plot thickens, and the REAL story starts to fall into place. While there is still a lot of focus on the blossoming love between Trey and Tylar, there are a couple of other extreme circumstances that come to light, and the major series plot line is revealed. Literally within about twenty pages, my excitement level ratcheted up like crazy, and the sexual blew the top of my head off!

"It appears our relationship is in dire need of "fuckification," would you agree?"

It's a story of new love, young love, and consuming lust...but what I took from it is a story of two people who aren't willing to give up and plan on doing whatever it takes to be happy. And that is refreshing!

"I rather like it when you take charge."
"You do?"
"Of course; just as long as you only do it when I let you"

"Tylar, I want to make love to you more than anything that I've ever wanted. You understand that, right?"
"Finally, and this part's a deal breaker. Once we do this, you're mine, do you understand?"

"Trey, how hot is the video?'
"Oh yeah, baby, it's hot!"
"Let's watch it together some time"

Trey and Tylar are wonderful and their chemistry is hot, hot, hot (with sizzling sex scenes). Ms. Smith's definitely had me engaged and am already looking forward to see their wedding and little Preston growing!

Hot damn that was a loooonnnnggg book......but it was a GOOD one!!!

Trey Sinclair and Tylar Preston....it was love at first....ARGUMENT for these two!

They met at the stables, Sinclair Stables to be exact and the meeting didn't go so well.

"Probably just a rich, spoiled kid that grew up into a rich spoiled man and still didn't like to share.....Pompous ass. Piss on you, Trey Sinclair!"

Now now Tylar calm down because you might end up loving this rich pompous ass;)

Trey Sinclair
He is rich, born into wealth and he is a lawyer. He is also drop dead model gorgeous with piercing blue eyes. He has a huge issue with control and is very high handed most of the time. He is extremely delicious...like yum yum eat'em up delicious!!!

Tylar Preston
She is your average college student working a summer job, her job just so happens to be at Trey's family's stables. She has huge family issues due to the fact that her Mom is a CRAZY b*tch! She's beautiful and well rounded which is surprising due to her past and everything she had been through.

But they were beautiful together, the fighting, the making up, opening up to one another slowly.

Do you know how exquisite you are, Tylar? Do you know how much I have wanted you since the very first time I laid eyes on you?"

Well it didn't go quite that smoothly.....but Trey is damn near irresistable!!!!

This is book has so many ups and downs, twists and turns, it was WONDERFUL!!!! It had a little bit of everything, I'll give you a quick run down because quite frankly the book is too long and to much went on to give a complete synopsis of everything.

Here we go.....family drama galore, mystery, traumatic injuries, SEX, virgin issues, past relationship problems, jealousy, who's the baby daddy, horse shows, smart mouths, crying(which happened a little too much and almost got on my nerves), trust issues, hospital stays, and much more but I'll leave some for you to find out on your own.

There's 2 more books in this series and I can't wait to read more about these two.....this book was refreshing to me, I LOVED it!!!

Wow, this has had 4 editions?! I kept the first Kindle edition with the awesomely craptastic cover. This better be smutty...

Few minutes later....

"I decided to wear a short jean skirt and a white, cotton tee shirt that has a pair of lips outlined in red on the front, with the words printed, ‘Save the drama for your mama,’ inside the lips. I saw Rachel wear the same shirt on an old episode of ‘Friends.’ I knew I wanted one. I had found it on E-Bay and ordered it."

OMG, no. Just... No. I'm drawing a line right here.

I am really glad I took a chance on this book (Thanks Georgia for the great review!)

I'm usually skeptical of books this length. Often (especially with Indy authors who don't have professional editors) I find myself skimming though needless scenes that drag a story down. I was pleasantly surprised that there were few (perhaps excluding a few of the many many sex scenes) things that I didn't feel were necessary for plot or character development. It was a seriously refreshing change for an author to put out one book, instead of breaking the story up, needlessly, into multiple books (this is a trilogy, but I don't think anyone could think they didn't get a whole story in book one.)

For those that it will bother ( and I know you are out there) - this isn't a totally polished novel. There is certainly room for some careful editing. I don't usually notice these things, and I did, so I know others will notice too. I hope that doesn't keep anyone from giving it a try, because I think the story is worth overlooking some errors.

I was a little apprehensive that, given the blurb, this was going to be another rehash of the popular rich possessive guy with innocent younger girl theme. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm starting to feel like I've BTDT a few too many times.

That WAS the basic premise of the story, but there was a whole lot more too it. Tylar was an interesting character. I must admit I wasn't fond of her in the beginning. She seemed to be reacting like a young rebellious teenager (not a mature 21 year old that a 30 year old guy would be attracted to). I was intrigued by Trey, but I truly could not understand why he was so gaga over her. There was definitely an insta-love thing going on. I'm really glad that I didn't give up on them. Tylar came out of her childish funk, and became a strong, independent, and surprisingly rational heroine.

I really ended up loving Trey. Yes, he could be possessive and controlling, but it was obvious how much he adored Tylar. I appreciated that both the hero and heroine actually seemed to change how they dealt with each other as their relationship developed, just like a real couple. I loved that while I was annoyed with both of them at different parts, I had no desire to assault any fictional characters (which is just such a fabulous break ). They were both honestly just likable, despite not being perfect.

The sex was plentiful. Like really really plentiful. I'm not really complaining, but there were a few times where I wanted to just move past it so I cold get back to the story. Their interaction in the beginning was an interesting mix. I have to say, some of really inexperienced Tylar's moves in the beginning had me wondering just how much Cosmo she had been reading.

The best part of the book for me, was all the sub-plots. Tylar's past comes back to haunt her, and Trey's truly whacked out Jerry springer-esque family drama created some great fireworks. I really hope we get more Tristan in the next book.

I'm off to read book two. One doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but there are some lose ends I'm looking forward to seeing tied up.

Can I just get one thing off my chest? WHAT IN THE HECK WAS MS SMITH THINKING WITH THAT BOOK COVER? Horrible. Especially when it's such an awesome book! Please, do yourself a huge favor- change the cover. It will double book sales. It's a crime not to...

Loved, loved, loved this book. Loved everything Trey Sinclair. Usually there's parts in a book I falter on a character, but not with this specimen. Swoon fest! Lord son!

The book is so looooonnnnnggggg! Thank goodness because you are left feeling like a part of the family. I just better be invited to the wedding. Ha.

My Tylar-

The story of Trey and Tylar. Trey's family owns Sinclair Stables where Tylar is working for summer income during college break. Their chemistry is palpable from the start. Tylar has a horrible childhood at the hands of her prostitute mother and this plays a fairly big part in the entire book. Trey's devotion and protectiveness of her is endearing. Did I say I loved this man? Tylar was a bit immature in the beginning but upon thinking about it, she was just turning twenty-one, so her behavior is fairly appropriate for her age. Trey is thirty so how they dealt with relationship issues was clearly shown by that difference in age and maturity.

The end is rather cliffy. So happy that the whole series is out so I don't have to wait.

Only negative for me and I don't know if it's the copy I got but there's quite a few typos, run-on sentences, and lack of punctuation. I didn't subtract a star for it in hopes that the copy that was given to me by a friend was one PRE edited. I sure hope so as if I paid for it on AMZ, I'd be fairly upset by it. But I will give it the benefit of the doubt...

READ THIS BOOK. The bedroom scenes are awesome. The character development stellar. You will not be disappointed..........

Recieved this has a beta copy to crtique

The Positive
This was so much lighter in terms of the angst and the emotions portrayed . I didn't hate the heroine like in the first copy , I could actually understand some of her emotions . Which in turn made me sympathize with how she acted. I could understand some of the decisions that she has made .

The Negative
I'm not sure of the direction of this plot , for instance is this an Erotica, Bdsm , or just plain vanilla sex ? I couldn't understand why the hero was Alpha in one moment and then just plain bleh the next . I'm really confused about that. I feel like that could be tightened , their needs to be clear ideas of the characters . that just wasn't their for me which left me feeling meh .I appreciated that the hero and the best friend didn't like each other, in so many of these books the best friend instantly loves the hero and convinces the her friend to be with him . It wasn't so in this and that was a refreshing change .

This wasn't great for me but it was still so much better than the last one . I really see the hard work the author has put in and for that I am very proud.
I hope my critique helps Andrea ! xoxo

LOVED THIS ONE!! ♥♥♥♥♥

I got a lot more than I expected out of this one... I thought it was going to be a nice light and fluffy read.. geez was I wrong... this book was total hotness with plenty of agnst, mystery, sadness, LOVE.. this book had it all. My heart is still all twisty right now from the ups and downs .. this was one long roller coaster.. book 2 is available now and I'm ready to start it and there is apparently supposed to be a 3rd book also. This one does not really end in a cliff hanger.. but something does happen at the end to let you know that there is much much bigger things to come. There were a lot of unanswered questions left in this one.

I loved the chemistry between Tylar and Trey.. from the moment they met--it was just ZING!~ and Trey.. Trey is soooo hot and sexy and TALENTED. This man has some serious talent.. at one point I named him the orgasim whisperer.. *****major sigh*****. There was ALOT of steam in this book...

LOVED EVERY PAGE OF IT!!

Three Strong Stars

I’m fucked up, that’s why! I smother her, I fucking smother her. I can’t help it…I love her.

I came across this book a lot, but was never in the right mood for it. Plus, I was a bit leery considering the original book was six hundred plus pages. Whoa, right? But after my friend, SueBee, told me that the story was being cut down (practically half in length), it definitely moved up on my TBR. However, when I received the opportunity to read an ARC of the ‘shortened’ version, I couldn’t resist.

This story is about Tylar & Trey. Tylar is a twenty-year-old equine studies student. She starts her summer by working for Sinclair Stables. There she meets Trey Sinclair. He’s older than Tylar and the sparks fly when they first meet. Even throughout their initial banter, it was apparent that these two had massive chemistry. Though I really wouldn’t categorize this as insta-love, I can totally see it being perceived that way.

Anyway, as we get to know Tylar, we find out that her past is pretty traumatizing. Her mother? OMG! I can’t even call her that. She is a vile and selfish character. I couldn’t believe half the things she did to Tylar. She was not a mother; she was cruel, selfish and her behavior was just deplorable; she seriously disgusts me. No wonder Tylar’s memories are a bit hazy. I would be having nightmares too. Needless to say, Tylar is slightly damaged, but just slightly.

Tylar is a likeable character for the most part, but what I didn’t get was why Trey was so into her. I couldn’t see what was so special about her; I couldn’t feel their connection, like at all. Like I said, Tylar is likeable, but there were a lot of times where she rubbed me the wrong way. I was all like, “Geezus, Trey, what do you see in this girl? She is not worth all this trouble.” True story.

As for Trey, well what I can say? I really liked him. I LOVED the fact that he was all Alpha and super possessive (yea, I know I have issues lol). But I just couldn’t understand his attraction to Tylar. I think that is why I couldn’t really give the story more than three stars. I liked the fact that it had a bit of suspense, and the scenes with Trey and Tylar: H-O-T., but I just couldn’t connect with Tylar and Trey’s relationship.

But please do not let my lack of connection deter you from reading this. It has gotten a lot of wonderful reviews, and I can understand why. It has a lot of things readers of romance love in their stories: Alpha Hero, young innocent heroine, a little bit of mystery, lots of bantering and flirting between the H/h, which ultimately leads to some very smexy scenes :)

Thank you Andrea Smith for providing this ARC for an honest review

First I want to thank Andrea Smith for gifting me a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review! I have to say that I found this book to be a sweet romantic journey with some major heat in the bedroom thrown in! This is a series that I for sure want to see through until the end. I found I became bonded with not only the main characters; but some of the side characters as well. Andrea Smith has a some amazing talent when it comes to dishing out a story that is one that hooks you from the first page on..I hadn't even finished the first chapter, and I was already sucked into the story, and very aware that I was going to love it!

We are introduced to Tylar Preston, who is a college student that is working for the summer at the "Sinclair Stables." Tylar has some major emotional baggage within her, that she isn't aware of until she has a fluke accident that triggers some major memories. Trey Sinclair is part of the family that owns the Sinclair Stables, He is your typical rich, hot guy who is "sexy and he knows it!!!" He doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve though, and he isn't the easiest guy to get to know. He has an instant attraction to Tylar when he sees her working with his horse one day. He doesn't fully understand his urges to protect and possess Tylar; but he goes with his feelings when he comes to her aid during an accident. When this couple is together, the sparks fly, and the attraction becomes very intense with them. I love the fact that Trey doesn't shy away from Tylar when he figures out the she has some major demons that she is battling. Instead he feels the need to protect and help her through them. Not only are these demons haunting Tylar; but there is someone from her past that is stalking her and wants to do her harm.

This book is well worth the read. There are more books that follow this one and it looks to be a very promising series. I can't wait to see what is in store for Trey and Tylar's future. I expect it will be one heck of a ride!!

Tylar Preston aka Angel was born and raised in Kentucky. She was raised by a mother that cared little for her, and was never good to her. Tylar's sophomore year of college, she transfers to Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia. Her major is equine studies, and she has always dreamed of working with horses. She wants to live near campus, so she gets a job at a horse farm working with horses. She is the new kid on staff at Sinclair Stables, and stays in one of the cottages there. A lot of the college kids in town work summers at the stables to help pay for college.

 photo e7ae48e5-0aac-4810-9ee4-56a54817c412.jpg

The Sinclair's are an extremely wealthy family. Tylar hasn't met them yet since the elder Sinclair's are on vacation for the summer. Their youngest son Trey is a successful attorney in Atlanta, but he travels back and forth over the summer to oversee the stables while his parents are away.

 photo 4cef9fde-1a36-4e30-bb97-aca6e7746e9f.jpg

Tylar finally meets Trey Sinclair aka Hot Nazi, and is stunned by how gorgeous he is, but once he opens his mouth, is quickly shocked by how obnoxious he is. Her first impression of him is that he's a privileged, bossy, arrogant, uptight, spoiled rich snob.

 photo efc51f1e-1ba1-4c3a-a705-0e0a620e92e1.jpg

An accident happens, and Tylar also finds herself in a situation. Through all of this Tylar ends up spending some time around Trey, and realizes there is more to the man than she originally thought. He can be extremely kind, and thoughtful. She begins to see all the different sides to Trey, and likes what she sees. He's caring, loyal, generous, and protective, and it doesn't hurt he also looks like a model! :)

 photo e5075a02-5706-4cd1-b0e9-fd619d529228.jpg

Sparks ignite between them, and she starts to see a more controlling, possessive alpha male side of Trey. The problem is she can't fight how much she wants him. Trey is sexy as hell, and she just can't resist him. When he's close to her she can't think of anything but wanting him to touch her.
 photo bodyisready.gif

I really enjoyed this book, & thought this couple had unbelievable chemistry! The book has a little of everything. It has mystery, drama, suspense, love, and of course a delicious alpha male! This book was seriously hot, and I just loved the sexy Trey Sinclair, and can't wait to read more in this series!

Self note avoid. Spoiler

Series (book 3)leads to both of them cheating on each other. The H - emotionally cheats, developed feelings for the Ow while working with her, and kissed her, getting all aroused. The h sees them so she fucks om near the H😂. If the H hadn’t seen the h through the window and stopped the kiss, who knows what would’ve happened with the ow.

Since I don’t believe you can develop feelings for another when you’re truly in love with someone, this series makes no sense. Maybe the H fell out of love with the h?

5 Trey Delish Stars!!

Not too long after beginning her job she finds herself in a situation needing to be rescued. Enter swoon worthy alpha Trey Sinclair to save the day. My lips wanted him to kiss me, my heart wanted him to love me, and my hormones, well they were all about him spanking me, at the moment.

Trey Michael Sinclair is a seriously handsome, bossy and controlling, commitment phobic, wealthy lawyer. He's the youngest lawyer in his firm to make senior partner. Trey was hurt and betrayed in the past by a woman he thought would be his forever. Since then he's just gone from woman to woman using them to satisfy his primal needs. Trey, honey, I'd gladly satisfy your needs any day!!

Trey meets Tylar and is immediately drawn to her. Tylar brings out his need to protect and ensure her safety. Trey wants her more than anything but Tylar is carrying around with her memories from her childhood that he feels she needs to deal with first before claiming her as his. Together, Trey and Tylar, set out on this mission to find out the secrets of Ty's past. This journey will bring danger, suspense, and seriously epic heat between the sheets.

Tylar, a college student works at the stables for the Sinclair family over the summer...

Where she meets Trey Sinclair...

Insta love...

Psycho stalker...

Mystery of Tylar's past...

Family drama...

It has it all...

My thoughts

I stopped reading the original mainly because there was just too many irrelevant detail that dragged on.

However, second time round, I found this book generally what I like in a book, great characters, HEA/HFN, and of course the great sex.

And boy did the storyline got a bit tangled up towards the end.

This should be on Jerry Springer

Heroines have known to annoy me, but I found Tylar quite likeable.

As for Trey, he was lovely, protective, controlling, insecure and jumped to conclusions a few times. This is where I need a shelf for I-wish-I-could-knock-HIM-on-the-head.

My love is given freely, Tylar. I've surrendered my heart to you; I haven't, however relinquished my masculinity in the process

I love how this ended...Happy but leaving some issues open. I think I will definitely catch up with Trey and Tylar in the sequel.

5 AMAZING STARS!!!!!
I can't express enough how much I LOVED this book. You have to read it. For those of you that were turned off reading the first edition to this book because of the length you no longer have that standing in your way. This is a story you can't miss out on.

I read the first edition to this wonderfully written book. And now, I just finished the Lite version to this epic incredibly hot and steamy romance between Trey and Tyler. Somehow Andrea Smith pulled off reducing the length of this novel by a hundreds of pages and you still get the essence to the beginning of this couples story book romance. I loved every SINGLE thing about this book. I HIGHLY recommended this book to EVERYONE!! This is yet Another MUST READ BY Ms. Smith!!!!

I have to admit, I judged this book by its cover. I was wrong. Oh so wrong. It took me a long time to read just because of that darn cover. (It has been revised... a few times. Much better now.) Yes, I know this was incredibly shallow of me. I am pointing this out now only because I don't want anyone else to make my mistake.

This book was AMAZING! I loved the primary characters, I loved the secondary characters. There was drama, alpha possessive males, heartbreak, love and compassion. Tylar and Trey were absolutely the best. The sexual chemistry built slowly and it was absolutely perfect!

Tylar is a young woman who has had to fend for herself. She doesn't remember a lot of details about growing up. She begins working at the Sinclair ranch one summer to help pay her living expenses for college. There she is a ranch hand learning about horses.

Trey is a high powered attorney from Atalanta. He came in for the summer to help out and oversee the ranch while his parents tour Europe. Trey isn't looking for love or for a relationship. He finds Tylar and rescues her twice. He soon finds himself unable to stop thinking about her.

Tylars past begins to unravel and Trey is there to help her pick up the pieces. She learns more than she ever wanted to know about her family. Trey and Tylar have a very rocky relationship in this book but it is well worth it in the end.

So, if you are like me and have judged this book by its cover, shame on you! Go buy it and read it, you can thank me later!

5 Glorious stars!

P.S.
I can not wait to read book two.
