Prehistoric thrills as Dino Safari promises drive-thru adventure

More than 40 full-scale, moving dinosaurs roam the Earth, such as the Triceratops, Parasaurolophus, Micro-raptor and T. rex, in a globe-hopping expedition, Dino Safari. Created for families, the drive-thru adventure comes to the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora for the only Chicago area appearance from May 7 to 23.

“Get up close and personal with the most fascinating prehistoric creatures from the mighty T. rex of North America to the giant amphibious Spinosaurus of Africa,” a news release stated.

On your journey, you will learn how dinosaurs evolved over time, where they called home, and the discoveries paleontologists have made about how they ate, moved and behaved.

“Beware: along the journey, earthquakes might erupt, dinosaurs could battle, and your family might just have to help save a baby dinosaur’s life,” the release stated about what it describes as a COVID-safe experience.

Dino Safari was developed by a leading producer of museum displays, Imagine Exhibitions, in collaboration with paleontologist Gregory Erickson. It is intended to be educationally rich, interactive and immersive.

Dino Safari offers a family-friendly audio guide (available in English and Spanish) that plays directly through each car’s audio system. Narrated by engaging characters, the prehistoric exploration actively includes families while blending thrills with real science. It offers every visitor a free survival pack that includes a scavenger hunt, coloring activity, and other surprises.

“We are thrilled to be bringing this safe and fun experience to families in [the Chicago region], particularly in light of the many challenges everyone has faced over the last year,” said Tom Zaller, president and CEO of Imagine Exhibitions.

Organizers recommend advance ticket purchase. Prices begin at $49.95 per vehicle and are available through DinoSafari.com.
