The Impostor, A Love Story (The Alaskan Heart Saga Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 62 ratings

“Wow - what an amazing job Tiffany has done. There wasn't a moment that I wasn't engaged with the characters or the plot. The build up of mystery and tension in this suspenseful romantic novel is superbly done. I found myself constantly holding my breath and nervously listening for creaks in the house. There were some beautifully crafted romantic moments that had me swooning for Dylan, and several moments when I shed a tear. Stunning! The novel flowed very well, effectively creating a good balance of suspense, character interaction and the lovely romance. The ending. Oh my! Tiffany, what an ending you have created. I have no idea what to expect for book two, Obsession and Sacrifice, other than I can not wait to read it. And no doubt it will be as wonderful as The Impostor.” -Becky Johnson, Bex and Books

"‎I loved the suspense of The Impostor. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the Obsession and Sacrifice! I love Dylan and Nicole. The love story is like a fairy tale!"
- Amy Barnhouse

The Impostor, A Love Story is the first novel in a suspenseful romantic trilogy about unexpected love and a woman’s fight for survival. It is a captivating story of growth, acceptance, and the perseverance to begin again.

“Alaska? Who goes to Alaska?” Nicole, a young single mother, escapes an abusive ex-boyfriend and leaves behind the broken dreams of becoming an artist. She travels to Alaska, a place she knows little about, on a journey of self-discovery.

Nicole is scared of getting hurt again, but Dylan’s chiseled body, chocolate-brown eyes and charm captivate her. She begins to fall in love. In Alaska, she discovers the power of friendship and true love and starts to let down her guard. But is her security a facade?

Soon Nicole’s innocent beauty taunts a sinister man, and she is caught in a web of deception and danger. Someone evil is stalking her. Someone she had trusted. Will she be saved? Or will she be hunted?

“Knowing that the story has a basis on the author’s experience brings the world into an eagle eye view. This book offers a great deal of social significance and insight into the ideals and dreams of women, as well as the fears and struggles. It’s not just a romance. It’s not just a mystery. It’s about growth, acceptance and having the spirit to continue when the horizon shows nothing but dark clouds and lightening. Life is Chaos, but it can be beautiful too, if you have the persistence and determination to see it through. If you like Nora Roberts’s mysteries, you will love Tiffany Carmouché. ” Aleta OBrien, Fleur De Aleta

"The Impostor is an amazing novel about Courage, Faith, Love and the will to survive. Nicole is one of the strongest female characters I've ever read about. She inspires you to keep going but at the same time, lets you see that even in the hardest situations, it's good to open yourself up to new things. There's nothing better than a great love novel, but Tiffany Carmouché made it way more interesting adding suspense, action and tragedy. This is a must-read. You won’t be disappointed." Dann Barba

"I LOVED IT! It was great to see how the main character grew as a person—mistakes, unexpected love and all. The suspense pulls you forward and keeps you up at night. The men are steamy too (which never hurts)!" –Rocky Guzman

"Nicole had a vivacious personality, and her enthusiastic desire for adventure was believable. Tiffany did a nice job of portraying Nicole's vulnerability as a young mother desperate to provide her daughter a better life. She did a nice job with the settings. She took advantage of Alaska's scenic landscape, and provided well-crafted descriptions. -Lolita C

"I love the fact that the characters evolved and built the suspense. Nothing beats a good plot and a hot guy too! The Impostor reminds me of the best-selling author Jayne Anne Krentz’s romantic novels. There is action that kept me interested along with the love story. If Tiffany Carmouché is not on your reading

Excellent!

Excellent!
A really well written book, that doesn't leave anything out! This book is written so well that right from the start the book reels you in with insights into the characters lives and history without being tedious. I love this because you don't feel duped like in some of the more 'famous' books which seem to drag or on the opposite, a little rushed. The author has created a perfect balance. There are also many elements to the book without it being complicated. I wouldn't know how to categorise this book as there are so many elements to it, firstly it is a love story but along with that there is suspense, fun, mystery, Romance, disaster & those downright heart-beating-out-of-your-chest moments! I don't want to go to much into the actual story line or plot of the book as you need to experience every moment youself via the fantastic descriptive, beautiful writing! A '5 stars' review from me :) Really really enjoyed my journey with this book & can't wait for the second of the trilogy :) Please put us out of our misery soon :) xx

Wow-o-wow. First book by Tiffany Carmouche and what a book it is. I was unable to put this down read it over a 24hour period. I was really connected with the characters and the plot and was left in suspense hence why I was unable to put this story down.

I was constantly holding my breath and even found myself crying in parts. This book flowed beautiful throughout the chapters.

The ending was equally as fantastic and leaves you wanting more and wanting to know what happens to Nicole and Dylan. Carn't wait for next book.

Definately a novel not to be missed.

What a fantastic start to a series. I beta read the third book so I had to buy the first and second books. Even though I knew what was going to happen it didn't spoil the story or the suspense for me. I loved the friendship between Nichole and Emily. Brad, Dylan and Chris all seem nice guys, at first......
The build up of suspense had me holding my breath and listening to all the creaks my house makes at night.

I loved this book... I think that Nicole is a very strong woman to be able to go through what she did and still have the strength to keep going and trying to make a better life for herself and her daughter. She is also very strong to have been able to resist Dylan for so long.. lol. I can definitely see why she is feeling an attraction to both men. I kept hearing that there are cliffhangers in all of these books and boy what a cliffhanger... lol.. I cannot wait to read the next one now. I started the book this morning and could not put it down and I am pretty sure I will be the same way with book 2. Thank you Tiffany for writing such a great book and leaving me in suspense... Good thing I already have book 2 and can dig right in! I would definitely recommend reading this book... :O)

This suspenseful romantic trilogy captured my attention from the very beginning and had me engrossed all the way through. Breath taking romantic moments that left me day dreaming. This story is of a young woman's struggle to survive and provide for her daughter, it's a story of friendship and love. The build of the suspense was amazing, exciting and the ending .....well quite frankly brilliant. I can't wait to read the second book in this romantic trilogy.

If you have read my other reviews you know I'm one to tell you like it is. If I didn't like it is ill say so if I did you will know. I'm a reader just like you and would want honesty.
This was like a bad addiction and needing a fix.
Tiffany took you on a journey . This grabbed you and pulled you in and made you feel you was on the journey right there with Nicole.
Dylan, wow is all I can say.

I read this in hours. It was so good I could not put it down. A love story with a twist. Nicole is a strong willed and determined woman. She lived a life with domestic abuse, alcohol and cheating. Her heart is in art , until that is ripped away from her. Determined to make a better life for her and her daughter, she does the hardest thing ever. She moves across the U.S. to find a better life for her and the one thing that means the most her daughter. After, mishaps and bad luck she finally arrives in Alaska. She meets two amazing men Dylan and Brad.Knowing that love is the last thing she thinks she needs at the moment. Love it's the one thing that makes her feel complete. One becomes her best friend and the other becomes her world. Sometimes your best quality can be your worse enemy. Being to nice was one of her awesome qualities, but her worse enemy. The twist will have you in awe.

I was asked to read and give this book an honest review.

Wow this book kind of left me stunned. Throughout some of it, I really wasn't sure what to think but when it all ended I was impressed with it.

We get to meet Nichole who is just trying to survive and live through a tough situation in life. I really connected with this character because I can honestly say that I once lived the same as she did. And like her I can proudly say I lived through it. I loved how strong she was through everything and how no matter what she never gave up. She was determined to make it her life and take care her daughter on her own. Yay! After an incident she realizes that she must leave and go and make a better life for her an Jessica. This decision takes her and her best friend Emily to beautiful Alaska. Where they both can make a fresh start. Just when she believes that she can do this for her and Jess with no worries and problems she is met with a roadblock. Well more like a mountain named Dylan. Swoon, Dylan. Dylan is in a band, and yes he is what you think. A hot cocky playboy who is with a new girl every night. But for some reason Nikki is drawn to him and no matter how many times she tells herself he is not what she needs in her life, she just can't seem to get him out of her head. But little does she know that Dylan feels the same way. I may have "awwwwed" a lot when I found this out. I fell totally in love with this man after all the stuff he did for her. The way he never let her give up and just his strong presence even made me feel safe. I am so considering moving to Alaska if all the men up there are like this lol. Does anyone know for sure?

Just when Nicole gives in to Dylan and finally moves Jessica up there to be with her, their safety is suddenly shattered by an unforeseen danger. Someone that she felt she could truly trust turns out to be something that your nightmares couldn't even come up with. After fighting for so long to survive, the biggest question is how will she ever make it out of this alive?

I am so telling you this book was definitely a heart stopper. Ugh, I couldn't put it down. I just kept thinking I know what's going on, I know who it is! Only to be totally surprised by the next page. There was a couple of spots that I kind of lost interest in but overall I was hooked. The characters were great and ohh the whole book, wow lol. The writing was great, I really like this author's style. When you pick this book up , please be sure to have some tissues and make sure to leave all the light on in the house. The end, oh the end. It just has my head spinning. I can not wait to read the next book.

I really hate leaving reviews for books when I feel like I must have read something completely different from everyone else. The story line was good, but I haven't been this frustrated....LOL, ok in about a couple of weeks. So here is the thing...yep, you know I am struggling to say this right without offending anyone or hurting the author's feelings if I started it that way. <SPOILERS ahead>

No way in hell can I relate to Nicole. On the one hand, I give her credit for moving to Alaska to seek a better life for herself and her daughter. On the other hand, naive is not how I would describe her. Incredibly ignorant, blind, annoying, frustrating...you get the point. And here is why I struggle...I loathe men who hit women. Hey, I'm a firm believer in that women should not hit a man either and not expect to get hit back unless it was justified. However, for a man to beat on a woman is unforgivable. I cannot, in any way, shape, or form understand how a woman can stay with a man who hit her. Or how she can forgive him or justify his abuse of her. The first inkling Nicole was going to drive me insane with frustration was her struggle to NOT give her ex another shot. Really? WTH? Next? Her reactions to situations. Then her blind trust in Steve. She took weeks to warm up to Dylan, but she just blindly trusted Steve? No one knew him, but all it took was him saying he had a nanny and his big tips and she was all over that! She took everything he said at face value and did not question it even when Dylan did. And Emily didn't help since she just encouraged her distrust in Dylan, but not in Steve.

Alright, so taking a step back. I can empathize with a single woman being leery of strange men especially when she is new to the town / /city / state. The fact that her and Emily did not go anywhere alone, without each other was smart. The fact that she came from an abusive relationship weakening her self-esteem was also understandable. And Dylan, yep, why risk your heart with a guy who is a man-whore. And yet, when she did start to date him and realized she didn't really know him and shouldn't just judge him based on his relationships or lack thereof, which she didn't have the details for either, she also made him jump through hoops. And everyone telling her how he should treat her and that her behavior was justified left me stunned. Yes, he acted a bit like a douche at the wedding, but then she didn't really handle that right either. And it shouldn't have been up to him to go to her. She was late. She should have grown a set and walked up to him to apologize and explain. Him always having to coddle and beg was just sad. She did so much to push him away and yet reacted like he was the one who was using her or leaving her or not understanding her, and that didn't sit well with me. Sorry! Calling it like I see it.

I liked Dylan. I liked Bradley less. Frankly, I thought he was a coward. I don't know his history since we didn't get much focus on him, but to find him at the end talking about loving her when throughout the book he did NOTHING to show that he thought of her as more than a friend...until of course after Dylan leaves to the Slope and he and she start to act inappropriately, just pissed me off. Again, she was so scared to get hurt by a guy that she pushed and pulled at Dylan, but when he isn't there and she had not heard from him...instead of the benefit of the doubt as to why, she starts to cozy up with his best friend? Yeah, I had issues with the book or rather with Nicole and some of her actions. However, it has really good bones and even though I wanted to smack her myself, I did find myself picking the book up again every free moment I had to find out what happens next.

I really enjoyed this book. Tiffany did an excellent job of building up the suspense. It was hard to put the book down because you have to find out what happens next. There were times when I was reading it that I wanted to scream and other times that made me laugh out loud. The characters are very well developed and will have the reader cheering for them. The story and characters were realistic and relate able. And just when you think that you know how it will end BAM and you are thrown for a loop. If the ending doesn't make you want to read the next book then the sneak peak will. Bravo Tiffany.
